    Hey I just picked this up at Circuit City for about 8 bucks. It's a pretty great game for that price, enough to waste a week or so on, plus there's a fair amount of replay value... As you collect pages of the Necromonicon you are able to unlock some pretty cool behind the scenes stuff. The controls take somegetting used to, and the camera can be a bit of a pain, but you know Hey I just picked this up at Circuit City for about 8 bucks. It's a pretty great game for that price, enough to waste a week or so on, plus there's a fair amount of replay value... The controls take somegetting used to, and the camera can be a bit of a pain, but you know what I worked around them and found myself enjoying the game nonetheless. The voice acting by Bruce and Ted is funny and the music sdtrk is spot-on. For 8 bucks you could do a lot worse. Pick it up!… Expand

    ( 8.5 ) Of course, its the best Evil Dead game EVER, because they actually had the people from the movie involved with the game.

    The fighting is fun although at times can be repetitive. The variation in scenery and abilities from level to level keeps the game from bogging down. Witty banter between Ash and his budy is funny at times, but just like the action in the game, can get a little repetitive.

    Boring at the start, but wind-up to the last four levels. If you will pass thru 4 levels, you will get it. There so many ways to destroy - Sam, 3 type of guns that really works and have different action on enemies, grappling hook!!!! and evil powers, plus COMBINE it all!!! And don't forget about humor and pretty easy bosses, exept last ome. I give it 9, because it's unique black Boring at the start, but wind-up to the last four levels. If you will pass thru 4 levels, you will get it. Take away the humor and gunplay, it will be 2 0f 10. But it's not and this game is must buy for the guys and chicks who want real game with unique stuff, and not just another shooting thing.… Expand

    Of all of the Evil Dead games, this one captures the spirit of the movies the best. It was obviously made by true fans of the films. If you count yourself a fan, bump that score up to about an 8.5.

    First time playing ever after discovering the movies and the game. Altough sometimes repetitive, ive had fun with thid game! Campbel’s voice acting is fantastic and the weapons are great. Even ig youre not used to old games, this one might be fun for you

    Well if the first game was the first movie, and the second the second, then Evil Dead: Regeneration perfectly capped off the trilogy by being the best game and matching the 3rd movie in terms of tone. It's most comedic and the most fun of all 3 games. Some people will go to bat for the 3rd movie and call it the best. I'm in the camp of Evil Dead 2 is the best movie. So in my opinion the 2nd installment of the movies is the best and sandwiched between two other good movies while the games progressively got better.

    While a pretty obvious and remarkably lesser God of War clone, Evil Dead: Regeneration is still a blast and exactly my style of game. I don't want to have to manage resources and search for ammo and worry about reloading. I want to hack and slash and blast my way through deadites without remorse or mercy for 8 hours. I want to feel like an absolute superhero. This game delivered on that. It added a combo system which was a nice change of pace. However, it felt redundant once you unlocked the spear gun. It felt like the fastest and most efficient way to kill enemies was to reel them in with the spear gun, blast with shotgun, then hit triangle for finishing move. I felt like I simply spammed this for the entire second half of the game until I finished it.

    The other new, big element this game added was inclusion of a deadite sidekick to Ash. Most of the comedy was derived from this character. I couldn't help myself but chuckle every time Sam was accidentally killed in a cut scene in the most gruesome and gory ways. This also helped add to the story as Ash had to put aside his hatred for the undead and learn to get along with a deadite for a change.

    However I felt the mechanic of using Sam was sort of a wasted opportunity. I wanted it to be a bit more like a Ratchet and Clank game where the two characters have distinct abilities and uses to solve puzzles and progress through the levels. What you do in this game is possess Sam with Ash to reach smaller areas that Ash normally wouldn't be able to get through. But when you play as Sam you are doing the same things as Ash. You are moving linearly through the level, and pushing square to shoot at deadites. It's basically the same thing but with a different character skin. It needed to be a bit more different and distinct.

    Like the last game in the Evil Dead franchise you get numerous different attachments other than just a chainsaw for Ash's arm which is quite fun. There were some remedial puzzles to solve that required a specific weapon. And Same takes to his sidekick moniker quite literally as you often have to punt Sam into enemies or objects to progress.

    All in all Evil Dead: Regeneration is an improvement over its predecessor in terms of gameplay, graphics, story and is just a more fun game. I will definitely remember this one more fondly even though it's not without its faults. The things that could have been improved on and felt like a swing in a miss are sort of forgivable when the rest of the experience was so much fun.    … Expand

    An irresistible little charmer. It's short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome, clever enough to be engaging, full of enough action to be consistently fun. Fans of the film series will, of course, want to grab it, but action gamers looking for a dose of sarcasm, zombie guts, and light puzzles will find themselves amused as well.

    The game's third-person combat is pretty much D.O.A.—target, shoot, repeat, etc.—but things pick up considerably once you acquire your chainsaw and boomstick (aka 12-gauge shotgun). And things pick up again after you partner up with a wise-cracking midget Deadite.

    Underlying some of the game's polish, however, is a flawed combo system, repetitive level design, stale storyline, and a jarringly short play length that should ward off casual action fans and attract only those who consider themselves fans of the Evil Dead series.
