    I'd better like Zero-K after putting so much work into it. The UI has spoiled me to the point that most other RTS can feel frustratinglyI'd better like Zero-K after putting so much work into it. The UI has spoiled me to the point that most other RTS can feel frustratingly difficult to control. The matches are so watchable that I'll stay up late watching the matchmaker beyond when I am awake enough to be playing myself. Full Review »

    ZK is basically a game from a parallel universe where the RTS genre decided to spend more effort on actual gameplay, simulation, advancedZK is basically a game from a parallel universe where the RTS genre decided to spend more effort on actual gameplay, simulation, advanced control, and unit intelligence than it currently does, at expense of graphics. It compares to other games in the genre kind of like Dwarf Fortress compares to Settlers; and just like DF redefines how you think about deep simulation, ZK redefines how you think about RTS.     Zero-K is my favorite RTS of all time. It takes all the best parts of Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander style games, and throws out the need for extensive eco basebuilding or teching up.

    It's big on fun, and with a permanent pricetag of $0, you may as well give it a try. What have you got to lose?
