While there is a decent amount of options there are also a bunch of faux choices where the game literally tells you that you can’t do that and puts you back at the choice screen and makes you choose another, sometimes the only other choice. This happened enough that I found it annoying. The story otherwise is pretty good until the end. The story introduces a lot of intrigue with very little explanation and then sets itself up for a sequel without answering much. This seemed lazy. It’s one thing to end on a cliffhanger but it’s another to do that and make some drastic changes to the story arc without properly explaining how it came to be. That being said the ending did leave me wanting to know more so while I’m a bit angry over how things were handled they at least kept me interested. I did enjoy Hilda; Mohon; Henrietta; and some other characters so there was reason to be invested. The game being told as you not being in full control of Lia was an interesting one. The music was well done, especially the scene where Lia sings a song which was fantastic. The UI was well done and is more unique than many games in this genre. The art was great and while the game lacked the animations that other visual novels offer I didn’t mind as the art and detail were better than many of them. Oh and it was kind of weird to have a character named “babushka lady” that doesn’t actually wear a babushka. Just saying.
I played Your Story on Linux. The first time I played the game it crashed on launch but the developers fixed this issue with a patch. After that there were still a few hiccups such as the game froze once and I noticed five spelling errors. You can save whenever you want and there are fifty four save slots.

Overall this wasn’t a bad game but the technical issues combined with the faux choices and lack of detail in the final twists of the game make me unable to recommend it. I paid 10 Euros for it as a Kickstarter backer and finished my first play through in two hours and thirty nine minutes.
