I played this game back on PS3 with a terrible framerate but hell it was still an amazing experience. When i saw this coming out for PC with smooth 60fps 1080p it was an immediate purchase for me.

This game is a remaster version of a game from 2012, but the graphics still look really nice, the music, the gameplay, all in all this the biggest yakuza game yet. 5 cities, 5 characters, Tons

I had no performance issues whatsoever, only one crash but surely itll be fixed.

Being able to play this collection of games on the PC has been an amazing experience.

After Yakuza 3 and 4, it is clear from the very first moment that Yakuza 5 is a huge game. Once again, we can play as different characters during various parts in the story, like we did in 4, but this time we get to play in several areas/towns.

Some of those new cities I didn’t like that much, like Tsukimino, due to the layout, but then it was great to play in Sotenbori again (since I already did that in Yakuza 0/Kiwami 2) and by the time I got to Kamurocho again…wow, it looks amazing in this game.

Surely…I was really impressed by how much bigger Kamurocho got from 3 to 4, in Yakuza 4 we get to explore the rooftops, underground and even sewers, so I kind of missed some of that freedom in Yakuza 5 here, yet the city feels really detailed this time around, more than ever, at least to me (up to this game that is, excluding their remakes).

The characters are quite likeable, not only the main ones, or the new ones we can play, almost every character involved in the story here feels well written and developed. As usual in these games, the facial animations and expressions look really great for a game initially released on the PS3, despite being a remaster.

Like the previous two games, 5 runs great on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti card, I played this one at Ultra Settings, 4K DSR downsampling and an extra 120% Resolution Scale as super sampling, on top of that, and still enough headroom to keep a steady 60 FPS at all times.

The controls are great, I used my Dualshock 4, but keyboard and mouse have lots of remapping options available, although there’s some mouse acceleration that I believe cannot be disabled, it’s not terrible but I do prefer gamepad for these games, as recommended by the developers.

I found the game a bit easier than the previous one, and I beat it on Hard difficulty but well, it is what it is, wasn’t a walk in the park either, but I expected a tiny bit more challenge on some boss fights which, in any case, most of them were pretty awesome.

All in all…wow, what a journey this has been, this collection of games, to me are something special.

Yakuza 3 felt like the weakest of the bunch, but still I enjoyed that one quite a bit, especially after some time since I played a game in the series.

Yakuza 4 packs a very serious punch, new characters to play and a great expansion to Kamurocho’s layout…it’s great.

And Yakuza 5 feels like it had a really important budget, it’s a long game in comparison to the others, I think the story was great and, as always, it teaches us some important messages about life and family especially. Lots of feels and stuff packed in this one, just like in the other games, and it is really good.

If anything, I felt that Yakuza 5 was a bit too long for my tastes, but considering all the content in the game, it’s understandable. Yakuza 4 felt quite balanced when it comes to length and pacing, in that regard, but I can’t say 5 was a worse game due to this, it’s great too.

With this one, I’ve played all the games available on PC with the exception of Like a Dragon, which I’m waiting until I get to play Yakuza 6…in a month. It feels weird being able to say that…Yakuza 6 is also coming so soon, but yeah, I cannot wait to continue. When Yakuza 0 came out for the PC, thinking of having so many more games in the series on PC was only but a dream…today is a reality, at last.

The PC is the first platform where I’ve ever played these games, so I thank SEGA and the studios porting these games (QLOC in this collection) for the chance they give us to enjoy these titles. These are my kind of games, for many reasons, and the fact that they can now be played on PC is great. They may not be 100% perfect in all aspects, but well for what they are, they’ve been pretty enjoyable to me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think 4 is better from a story standpoint, and I'll tell you why. 4 had both Saijima and Akiyama in depth side stories, in 5 Akiyama is really just a tack on character. We also got in detail of Saijimas back story with Majima in 4. 4 also has the expanded kamurcho which is not available in any other yakuza games.

5 is epic no doubt, and better than the vast majority of games, but to me the Haruka idol stuff was tedious not to mention her pretty ludicrous story arc which is even more absurd than your typical Yakuza plot, without the heart or fun imo. 5 has the updated graphics no doubt and the standouts are the Saijima and Kiryu stories. Shinada was tack on even more than Akiyama. Shinada like Tanemura in 4 is just gone after this game, not carried forward at all which at least for Tanemura, makes no sense. Unless you are into baseball it's not terribly interesting in Shinadas case.

Kiryu's taxi substories are somewhat interesting if frustrating purely from a technical standpoint, in japan and other island nations they drive on the left hand side and this causes confusion for the vast majority of new players who live in nations who drive on right hand side so the timed taxi missions can get frustrating with not only driving but conversation at the same time etc I also find it pretty tasteless that a former 4th Chairman of the Tojo Clan is driving a taxi at all and for a very ludicrous reason. Kiryu is such a walking contradiction, he is yakuza no doubt, but hates to be involved with his home clan but does it anyways over and over, why he doesn't just stay chairman is beyond me. Clearly Daigo is not up to it over and over and over and the various pretenders are usually pretty evil, excepting Majima and Kashiwagi who could sit in that chair.

Again Saijima takes up a huge part of the middle section of this story and is really great. From prison to hunting to one of the cities Saijima is by far the most interesting character here. There is a ton of gameplay though and you will get into it because there is so much to choose from.

Anyways the only technical complaint I have is the camera which is jarring, it's not smoothed like in modern games and the kiwami 2/yakuza 6 games. Also the movement styles need to be updated from guerilla lol I played at 2k/60 on a mobile card and had no problems at all. It's the largest yakuza game and really deserves a kiwami treatment. This game is really great but is only really recommended for those who have enjoyed prevous yakuza games.

Huge improvement over 4th! Finally the plot made mostly sense and the 5 characters tied up quite well overall. Most of the climatic battles were satisfying and well earned. I would give this one a 10 in terms of enjoyment if it wasn't for Shinada. While his plot was enjoyable, and him as a character compelling, he had by far the worst fighting style I have ever experienced. Made me rush through his segment of the story skipping as much as I can cutscene to cutscene. Other than that, great game! Expand

There are some small details that are better even than Zero, like the THUD sound your impacts make, the enemies getting scared of you when they see you brutalize their friends, they enemies groveling and begging after the fight but not on a cutscene, the city isnt over saturated with lights, you dont need to hold down a button to run, etc.

At the same time you immediately notice what was improved, the stores are all separated from the rest of the city by loadings, you cant walk in first person, the city is extremely car oriented but you only get to drive a car as a mini game, and so on.
Its the game with most variety of the franchise, if you play this or Zero you dont even need to bother with the rest, they are all the same.

Oynanabilir 5 karakter bulunuyor. Hepsinin hikayesini ayrı ayrı oynayabiliyoruz, hepsinin minigameleri de ayrı. Haruka'nın bölümlerinin ayrı bir hava kattığını düşünüyorum.
