    XIII Remake, is a remake that was never needed. The game is far from fixable in this state, and it will never come close to they original.
    I would not recommend this game to anyone.

    Wow, this game made me register to metacritic.
    It is such a huge pile of poop.
    Gameplay is terrible, literally terrible, mouse settings, controls, reactions time.. everything sucks. Sounds are weird even for a remaster, probably attempt to sound like comics style that failed. Story is the only reason I can give the game 3 out of 10 because it was intriguing. If this game would cost 5€    Wow, this game made me register to metacritic.

    Good graphics but a bad remake. Gameplay is still bad. But the graphics are very sweet and lovable. however, I am giving this score for these graphics and unique style.

    Bad performance, completely removed the comic style graphics and turned them into a fan made fortnite style. Animations are sloppy and low fps. Cutscenes are like mobile game ads. Gunplay was better in the original. ADS sensitivity is weird. What a shame, really looking forward to this.

    Just buy the original, it's way batter.
    This game should have been remastered not remade.

    This game is brutally ugly, and a complete let down if you're a fan of the original. The gunplay is dull and lifeless, the graphics are terrible, and it's a buggy mess. What a bummer.

    That being said I still enjoyed this badly built remake over nearly every other FPS game I've played this gen..
    Gameplay is so cookie cutter and generic these days that the old games are the only way to get inovation and originality.. Really wish they had done better on this remake though, I liked the art and scenery,    Buggy broken, hard crashes...This game is unfinished and it's a shame..
    That being said I still enjoyed this badly built remake over nearly every other FPS game I've played this gen..

    Loved the original on the PS2 back in the day and even bought the PC physical copy to play a few years back for PC and bought the game straight away when it came to steam.

    The remake however cant be defended in any way I feel as its not only a really buggy mess but it feels more lifeless than the original. I played the original a few months back again and it still is great but the remake got rid of the comic book style effects and cutscenes which really has a massive effect it turns out on quality of the game.

    It would have been better to take the original, update the graphics and maybe add aim down sites to make it feel more modern as that would at least keep all the good things from the original instead of poorly mimic it like this remake does.

    Im sure this game can be patched into a playable state but i don't think they can patch in the missing elements from the original so give this a miss unless you enjoy wasting money.    … Expand

    The animations are terrible. The AI is incompetent. The physics engine feels similar to a Unity game. The artwork is outshone by the predecessor that was made 17 years ago. This game feels completely unfinished: The Sound's don't line up correctly, the tutorial prompts don't have keybindings assigned, there are missing models and textured seen    There is no defending this game.

    This isn't coming from a fan of the original, I never had the chance to play it, but I can't even begin to imagine how disappointed the fans are to see a game they love be mutilated like this.

    Played it 2 years after release.
    Better than day one (lol), but still bad. Very bad.
    What a shame.

    It’s been ages since I’ve seen a shooter so awful. Ridiculous physics, horrible animations, practically non-existent enemy AI, and guns lacking a punch are just some of the remake’s transgressions. Believe me, it’s a really, really bad game. [01/2021, p.81]

    With the brilliant heights that remakes of Resident Evil 2, for example, achieved last year, it felt inevitable that a remake like XIII would stand as the exact opposite result in that regard. Whether or not you’re the type to maybe excuse some of the failings as unanswerable solutions to an aged approach to game design, it doesn’t take away from just how little care and effort PlayMagic have placed in the other departments. Enemy intelligence that’s practically non-existent, an overuse on what seems like a meager, hurriedly-compiled assembly of audio and visual assets. On top of a gunplay premise that looks, sounds and feels objectively worse than that of the 2003 Gamecube original. 2020’s XIII is a broken, buggy and boring rendition of a game long-time fans deserve a better interpretation of.
