Just very boring and repetitive, Ai is useless and it's just a kick/punch mashfest, generic shared movesets so don't expect any to perform the same moves the wrestlers do. The roster is not upto date with some bizzare choices/omissions and the wrestlers do not like their real life counterparts. It just feels like a Mobile game.

In terms of Wrestling games this is just below WWF Royal Rumble for the Dreamcast which at least had 9 players in the ring.

Not even worth $10 as you will be bore within an hour or so. DO NOT BUY!

Combat is terrible and clunky, and is worsened by the fact that theres only what 4 or 5 styles of characters and within those styles LITERALLY EVERY CHARACTER HAS THE SAME MOVESET AND ABILITIES! There is literally nothing that seperates Roman from The Rock except the visual difference. Absolute garbage.

That is all not to even mention the 2K micro-transaction goldmine. This game is way

That is all not to even mention the 2K micro-transaction goldmine. This game is way overpriced in the first place for what it is, then you want to charge more for it just to play with my favorite wrestlers out of the box? Yes, you can unlock them by grinding in game, but when a game says it has a roster of contained characters I expect to be able to use all those characters when I fire the game up. Not have to choose between grinding through matches that honestly are already boring after 3-4 plays or paying more money for a superstar I want just to find out that he is gameplay-wise an exact replicant of one that I could already play with.

Better luck next time 2K, you get a dead zero from me on this one. Can only hope WWE has the sense to move the license soon to a studio that will actually respect the fans and deliver a quality experience like THQ used to.

One of the most fun wrestling game since HCTP. WWE games fell way off starting with SvR and i lost interest, the arcade over the top style is exactly what we need to counter the sluggish ultra realism same year after year. i don't care how real you can make sweat look. This is a pure fun game that isn't meant to be taken seriously, don't know if it is worth £45 but since we will be gettingOne of the most fun wrestling game since HCTP. More variety in the grapples wouldn't be to bad either. Expand

I guess I was to High when putting hope in to this game or anything by 2K anymore. Micro Tranies be running a muck in 2K. I can see it being a part of Humble Bundle sooner then later. Download a emulator and enjoy the classic that way. I'll play the old Arcade it I want to relive the 90's. GG 3 Bacon **** ~ ~ ~

This game is complete garbage, the gameplay isn't fun, doesn't even compare to the more realistic games (this is coming from someone who played them competitively a couple of years ago). The story is bad and instantly is not fun from the start. Yes, I have only put in less than an hour into the game but at that point, I would rather have my toenails pulled off one by one.

Since standard WWE 2K21 is not coming out, we got Battleground, a more arcade-y approach to the WWE universe. Sadly Battlegrounds has basically the same problems as previous iterations. Microtransactions, bugs, dull gameplay throw shadow on a good try to refresh the franchise.

Over-the-top action, ridiculous animations and attacks, and a cartoony reimagining of your favorite superstars aside, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is hampered by its lackluster class-based movesets, as well as a system that requires you to grind for a vast majority of superstars that still need to be unlocked. With limited customization options and game modes, it's best played in short bursts, and you'll hardly feel engaged from a single-player standpoint.

WWE 2K Battlegrounds works as a shallow party game you play for an hour, then move on to something else, and that's it.
