    Instant Classic.

    The game itself is a platform-like strategy game. The map can be zoomed, there can be 4 teams on a map with 4 players. Obviously the last teamThe game itself is a platform-like strategy game.     You can use an extremely good variety of "weapons", like real guns, or baseball bat or just 'prod' (it means you simply push a worm from a cliff to the water causing instant "death".
    You can play aggressively or you can use defending tactics, like digging holes to escape or just defend a character. Or placing girders on the map to cover your team members from incoming fire, or placing girders to enclose enemy units. Very clever, incredibly funny and sophisticated game, even though the ultimate goal is to get rid of all enemies. I purposely wrote "get rid", because it is possible to defend all game long until the opponents kill each other then, when the time limit is done (yeah, there is time limit), the water level starts to increase by ever round, so if you were clever and placed your team member(s) high enough, it is practically possible to win without a single shot. Thumbs up to the developers!

    The fully destructible environment also gives a depth to the strategy as you can never full cover yourself from anyone.

    I played countless hours with this first game (the second one exceeded it from every aspect, so the 9/10 here and 10/10 there).

    When I think about the Worms franchise, I can not think anything else but the first 2 games.
    For me, the coming sequels don't mean anything, just money makers.
    So, if you want to discover this game, try this first one being enchanting with it's early, simple graphics, then if it can not give/provide more depth, then play the second.

    This one is recommended regardless of age.
