    Legion succeeds at making you feel important, even if Azeroth itself sometimes feels bland by comparison. Buy it.

    Between the order hall campaigns and the core storyline that carries players through the expansion’s four initial zones (in any order) and beyond, Legion is packed with powerful plot moments, moments that carry real weight.

    Campaign-wise, this is the best expansion Blizzard has ever made.

    The ease of starting a new character is especially helpful given that Legion introduces a new class: the demon hunter.

    Despite the smooth launch (possibly the smoothest of ANY expansion OR content patch, and I've been here since early 2005), I simply cannot getDespite the smooth launch (possibly the smoothest of ANY expansion OR content patch, and I've been here since early 2005), I simply cannot get over how "meh" and "been there, done that" everything feels. So far it's a mashup of Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King with a constant narrative of your character being the chosen one who will save the universe from the Legion (while you're running around your class hall with everyone else who are ALSO "chosen ones" wielding the same artifact weapons). Level 103 now and I'm already deathly bored with the expansion. If you've played for any decent amount of time, there's nothing really all that new here - just the same typical Blizzard questing design and story telling all leading to the inevitable raid, raid, raid end game.

    It would appear that after 11 years, I've finally reached the point of simply being done. The experiences can't carry the game any longer and the social constructs that used to keep me coming back for my friends and guildmates have long been gutted. World of Warcraft continues down the path of being hyper casual, with Blizzard milking the diehard fanbase as much as they can while they still can. I fully expect Legion to suffer the same first month player dropoff as Warlords - and I'll be one of them.    … Full Review »
