    I don't understand how all these magazines find the 2 recent PES so perfect! (PES 5 & PES 6) Okay it's true that the AI has improved much with real player speeds incorporated and those "better runs into empty spaces" offering much realistic and efficient counterattacks. But that's all. It's nearly impossible to score an organized foot goal with an average team : only I don't understand how all these magazines find the 2 recent PES so perfect! But that's all. It's nearly impossible to score an organized foot goal with an average team : only headers or penalties! I could be able to score my first "real" goals with through passes when I chose Barcelona as a final chance! The reasoning behind the strength of teams is also very disappointing : all players run faster. And that's why you aren't able to play with average teams because you lose the ball somewhere as your players are unable to pass quickly after they received one. Really ingenious! I was playing PES4 for hours, but now I can't stand either PES 5 or 6 more than half an hour. A game must now to satisfy its user at a minimum degree, and for the majority of people I've spoken to, PES6 fails at it as did PES5.… Expand

    Awesome! the best soccer game ever created. If u havent play winning eleven series, you dont know what a real soccer games feels and looks like.

    Another season starts here... Best football simulator, better then ever before! But still there is some things to be improved: 1. More licensed teams and leagues will make challenge more realistic. 2. AI! Even at "Top Player" difficulty scores up to 12-0 can take place and some seasons in ML ends with more then 170 goals scored(213 - best) and less then 30 conceded (9 - best) after 30 Another season starts here...     The reviewers are paid to keep their business running - and PES is the sort of product that seems to sell on updates, not on any real changes. So what if there are a few tweaks here and there? the game is virtually the same. If you have played PES 5 there is no reason to shell out more for the same. Unless you want to feel updated.. Same issue is happening with other great games like Rome Total War which had such impact but now they milk its formula and release expansions and now Medieval II which gets such great reviews but really is just like Rome with different clothes and a few thin bones. PES 6 is still a solid experience for newcomers so it deserves a positive rating.… Expand

    PES6 is, without a doubt, the finest football game to date. It is better than its predessor by a margin that's worth paying for. If, like my friends and I, you have mastered PES5 to the point where you are scoring 4-0 against opponents on the six-star setting (which was stragely easier than three-star) then get this game. Many of the shortcomings of PES5 have been fixed in version 6. PES6 is, without a doubt, the finest football game to date. It is better than its predessor by a margin that's worth paying for. If, like my friends and I, you have mastered PES5 to the point where you are scoring 4-0 against opponents on the six-star setting (which was stragely easier than three-star) then get this game. Many of the shortcomings of PES5 have been fixed in version 6. For example, the ref will not call every niggling little foul anymore, a source of much frustration in the previous title. Also, passing and scoring have been noticeably fine tuned; hitting and hoping doesn't really get you anywhere now. At first the passing can seem slow and laboured, but after a bit of practice you'll notice that a lot of that comes down to the individual player's skill. The same rule applies to goal scoring. Blasting the ball from the edge of the area with a defender is more than likely going to send the ball sailing into the stands. As far as the Master League goes, there aren't a huge number of differences to note. The menus are tidier and slightly prettier, but will be familar to players of PES5. It does seem to be a bit more difficult to attract those star players if you're in the lower league, no matter how much you offer them, but that's the way it should be. As the years roll by you'll also notice that some famous players from the days of old begin to crop up; only they're 17 years old. Whilst it's great to sign a young, star player knowing that he'll develop into a god; therin lies the problem. You already know that he's great. So any sense of discovering a hidden gem is lost. Still, this is just a minor gripe and not one that detracts from the game in any way. Overall PES6 lives up to it's name; this is an evolution, not a revolution, of the series. If you're just a casual player of the game, who already owns PES5, then there may not be a good enough reason for you to fork out the cash for PES6. However, if your are an experienced player of the old version, and are looking to add a bit more challenge back to the game, then go ahead a pick up a copy. Even if it doesn't blow your socks off, you will apprecaite that it is a better game.… Expand

    This is probably the best sport simulation right now and it cannot be even compared to FIFA because of all the possibilities, different style of goals, dribling actions which pes6 now posses, and with improved graphics and sound with commentators on 6 languages makes pes6 the champion.     The first thing i noticed when i started PES6 was the awful, awful menu, and the awful music. Already I had begun to feel sad.... then i started a match. The graphics were slightly sharper than before, control of the ball seemed a little easier and the physics seemed better. Pace of the players was better and shooting was refined. I noticed new animations have been included, on the down side i saw that the keepers seemed to have evolved into "gods", although that was Cech. Overall this games is an improvement on PES5. Now all konami need to do is focus on the bad things, licences, sound, that sub-par commentary and FIFA fans will have nothing. Also a liitle more effort could be put into making this game a bit more at home on PC, its exactly the same as the PS2 one.… Expand

    If you want slick, beautifully presented footie, controlling your local first division side, stick with "FIFA," but if you're after a visceral, accurately modelled game then look no further than PES6. [Dec 2006, p.107]

    Pro Evolution Soccer still beats FIFA hands down. It may not be able to compete in terms of next-gen polish, but this is a case of matter over style. In terms of evolution, the new game might not be so pro, but it still offers a more rewarding football experience.
