    Best VR game ever! A dream come true!
    It's a tough job being VR game designer, many aspects have to be considered - from getting perfect controls, making breathtaking graphics, pushing adrenaline-inducing gameplay and not to forget getting those magic 90 fps also on the previous generation af video cards. Can it really be done? Windlands 2 just did! Admitted, I haven't finished the game    Best VR game ever! A dream come true!
    It's a tough job being VR game designer, many aspects have to be considered - from getting perfect controls, making breathtaking graphics, pushing adrenaline-inducing gameplay and not to forget getting those magic 90 fps also on the previous generation af video cards. Can it really be done? Windlands 2 just did! Admitted, I haven't finished the game yet, but I don't remember seeing a more polished VR game: I know the devs are proud to call themselves "indie", but this game beats all the AAA games I can think of - and it does it in spades. If Windlands was awesome, then Windlands 2 is easily beyond description, although one word springs to mind: Reference. My top 3 of best ever VR games has just been changed to Lone Echo, Moss and Windlands 2. I gave the game the worst conditions I could think of and started the game forcing super-sampling (ss) 2.0 - and I got perfect 90 fps. Ok, in the start, later I had to reduce antialiasing to 2x and kept view distance to 1.2 (couldn't see any difference between 1.2 and 5 anyway), and got solid 90 fps using an oc'ed GTX 1080, i7 7700K and 16GB 3200MHz. Controls are better than Windlands, love the bow, and the world is now filled with animated life. Textures get extra detail when you're close, just awesome. The graphics are extremely beautiful and so much better than Windlands, graphics feel and look like art. This isn't just Windlands 2, it's a dream come true!    … Expand

    В первую очередь, сравню Wildlands 2 с первой частью:
    [++] Персонажи. Их наличие сделало мир более живым. А ещё, они милые
    [++] Оружие и противники. Из-за этого эта игра интереснее первой части.
    [+] Кастомизация. Можно выбрать пол, одну из 4х одежек и одну из двух моделей кошек (четырехпалых крючков, которыми вы цепляетесь за зеленые поверхности)
    [+] В отличии от первой части, эта учитывает где находится игрок, как во всех нормальных VR-играх. Конечно, это позволяет игрокам "читерить", пробегая по комнате вперед, чтобы долететь до к-н камня, особенно это касается "скалолазания", когда вы забираетесь на поверхности, перпендикулярные земле, два раза отскакиваете от неё, и немного двигаетесь в реальности вперед, чтобы заскочить на поверхность.
    [∙] Вроде бы, в отличии от первой части, бонусные камешки должны что-то давать, однако я не заметил этого
    [∙] Мультиплеер. Было бы плюсом, если бы было бьы с кем поиграть
    [∙] Смерть. Она бессмыслена. Кроме возвращения в чекпоинт нету никакого наказания за смерть. Хотелось бы, чтобы смерть восстанавливала боссу все или часть красных "щитков", чтобы был какой-то смысл избегать смерти
    [∙] Графика. В первой части графика мне нравилась больше, но это моё личное мнение
    [!] Укачивание. Как и первая часть, это максимально некомфортная игра для тех, кого укачивает при перемещении в VR.
    [-] Радиус звучания бонусных камешков сильно снижен, а их звук не примечателен - можно подумать, что это музыка. Это значительный минус для тех, кто любит их собирать - раньше можно было прислушаться и узнать, что где-то рядом камешек и было интересно его искать, вернее, находить к нему путь. Сейчас же это больше на внимательность.
    [+] Теперь бонусные камешки - идолы и имеют разные модели (не абсолютно разные)
    [--] Оптимизация. В первой части у меня FPS вообще никогда не был ниже 90, при том, что настройки сглаживания были выше.
    [--] В игре, которая изначально создавалась для Oculus нету возможности переключиться из SteamVR в Oculus SDK. Возможно, именно из этого вытекает предыдущий минус
    [-----] Игра сохраняет прогресс только при выходе из игры и переходе между порталами. То есть, если вы закрыли игру НЕ нажав на Stop soaring (закрыли окно с игрой, отключился ПК и тд.), то ваш прогресс не сохранится. Огромный минус для тех, у кого часто отключают электричество и нету ИБП. Да и запросто можно случайно закрыть игру
    [-] Разработчики заставляют нас ходить туда-сюда по многу раз. Это немного раздражает - создаётся ощущение искусственного увеличения времени игры.    … Expand

    Windlands 2 is a lot of fun. The movement and combat are both a huge amount of fun, they just fall short of being perfect. The new co-op features make this a fantastic game to play with friends, and it is here that the game is at its best.

    Quest structure and design centered on pacing are unfortunate obstacles for this experience, but Windlands is still a lot of fun. It's even more fun when you can get a few friends to swing around with you. Just make sure to optimize your VR sensor setup before swinging into action.

    The story, while pretty simplistic, uses classic gaming tropes that aren't hard to swallow, but consequently leave little aftertaste. The lack of any penalty for dying leeches some of the excitement of killing the world's titanic bosses, although in the end, Windlands 2 competently sets the stage for a larger, more epic dive into the evil that destroyed the world. Looking past some of the smaller blemishes, what remains is a beautiful, and difficult platformer that promises more fun yet to come.
