Absolutely phenomenal metaphor for depression and anxiety. Great game and narrative design.

The game is not well optimized though.

When the Darkness Comes, is one of those games that is much more than that.

The way it is presented to us, has reminded me a lot Stanley Parable, but it is so much deep, more complex. And on each chapter you feel more deeply involved and more deeply despaired.
It is a surreal picture of the dark sides of the human mind, of the human emotions.

An unique experience, if you feel up to it.

    Follow your light

When the Darkness comes is a totally unique experience. It's cleverly crafted and great at what it does, it's certainly one of the best walking simulators on this steam. It did break my expectations, it was much more than one could ever expect. The story written here is art, it explores areas of our minds that have often been left to dark. For some, the game will

For some, the game will be relatable and for most, there is going to be lots to find here.

From a technical perspective, while the movement is bit clunky, it's overall good unity quality that was hard to expect from a free to play title. To top all of that, it looks amazing.

I would highly recommend this experience.
But please, do read the disclaimers.

Didn’t expect much from a kind of horror/creepy walking simulator, but HOLY **** this subverted any possible expectation I had for this game. The song (Mars landscape: moon set, btw), is incredible yet simple, as is this game. The best way to enjoy this game is putting your headphones, get a blanket, play with the lights off, and immerse yourself in this unforgettable experience. In its 1,5 hr playtime, it strike me more than some of the big budget long duration beasts of the gaming industry. One of the best indie games I’ve ever played, definitely recommended Expand

An interesting experience focusing on fears and mental illness while constantly breaking the fourth wall.
