Sep 4, 2020Your enjoyment of Wavey The Rocket is going to be highly dependent on how well you adapt to the controls and sine-based movement. Get used to how things work, and you'll find the game to be challenging in a fun way with plenty of bite-sized levels to keep you entertained. Until that happens, though, prepare for some frustration because you'll experience failure over and over again, even in the early stages. If you don't mind that inherent challenge, give Wavey The Rocket a spin.

Aug 19, 2020While promising a cool twist on the platforming genre, Wavey the Rocket proved to be an absolutely miserable experience that is hard to recommend to just about anyone. Complex controls, ungratifying gameplay, and performance issues that significantly affect the gameplay, this simply isn't fun to play. For those looking for a genuinely fun and engaging platformer, this isn't one that's going to hold your attention for very long.

Aug 10, 2020Wavey was so unique and so interesting to watch that my wife, who rarely if ever plays videogames, was tempted into having a go just for the sheer novelty of it. It was a new thing, never encountered before. It took a few levels for her to get the hang of it, just as it will for anyone, but on level five she suddenly got it. She understood the waveform, she could shrink and grow it exactly as she needed to catch the wave.

May 21, 2020When it’s all said and done, my main quarrel with all of these issues is that they are holding this super concept back from reaching anywhere near its potential and it’s just such a shame to see. Wavey The Rocket has its ups and downs, it’s crests and troughs, if you will, but it is still a good game at its core. There are just a few rough edges that need to be worked on and status quos to break free of. Instead of trying to fit this new idea into an established space, like a wavey peg into a conventionally-shaped hole, I wanted to see it go further, to think bigger!

May 20, 2020There’s a lot to enjoy with Wavey The Rocket. Bringing us a warm sense of nostalgia, it’s an enjoyable but sadly flawed debut title from UpperRoom Games. Though it certainly holds potential, it is difficult to get around the control issues. But if you can look past them, you’ll find a decently sized campaign, packed with replayability and an interesting cast. It’s worth taking a look at, but comes with a cautious recommendation.

May 12, 2020Wavey the Rocket is an inventive experience with a plethora of well-designed levels and a variety of themes and challenges, although it may be too difficult at several occasions in a way that rids the experience of all the fun it presents.

May 11, 2020To make it short: Wavey stinks. The gameplay isn’t fun and the rest is mediocre at best. Seeing that this ist he first game made by a young studio, I wish them all the best for their future. But their next project has to be a lot better to gain my attention.

May 11, 2020Wavey The Rocket is a challenging side-scroller with unique movement. It's difficult to master but there's plenty here for those willing to give it a go.

May 8, 2020Wavey The Rocket is a new 3D side-scrolling arcade game based on a little fast rocket riding on a side curve. Despite its original gameplay, this game is not suitable for all players.

May 7, 2020My mind has not yet been able to fully grasp Wavey's wave movements, but the UpperRoom Games’ title is undoubtedly an original and intelligent "platform" that brings to mind the glories of Sonic launched at crazy speed through his articulated and strange levels.
