    In my opinion, this is the benchmark of turn-based strategy games. Great campaigns and scenarios to challenge you. The random map generator is the highlight for me as it gives the game endless replayability.     The art style and music still hold up in 2021, although the game could do with some love in the networking department. More modern multiplayer ease-of-use would be amazing.    … Full Review »

It’s got just the right amount of complexity for me…games like Civilization are great, but for me are too much like having a job in real life. WL3 DLR just hits the spot perfectly.

    Pro tip: I used this game to make 10-14 hour trans-Pacific flights feel like 2 hours. It’s one of the best “…just one more turn!” games out there.

    Only reason it’s not a 10 is because there are some very minor bugs (I can’t even remember them right now, but they don’t affect gameplay or enjoyment) that will never be fixed because the source code has apparently been lost for decades!    … Full Review »
