Combine that with the "gotta catch 'em all" mentality that is collecting and playing with all the weapons and warframes possible, and you will lose many many hours to this game.

Rewards come to those who persevere, Tenno. One of the few games that lets me drop in and out for quick things if I don't have much time or I can spend an afternoon amassing more fortune in order to turn around and spend it all.

"Repetitive" is a common complaint for Warframe, and there is truth to it. Thankfully it has a wonderful combation of flash and attitude that keeps me coming back, not to mention regular content updates.

Warframe has what I consider to be the best free-to-play economy in the gaming industry, one that doesn't leave you in the dust if you're unwilling to shell out hundreds of $$$.

This game is amazing and addictive, a bit sandbox full of fun and action. Runs great on low end pcs. Good story, complex, good community, TRUELY F2P, regular updates. Is really good for players who like to collect items (weapons, frames, etc). Everyone should try it, worth the download.

This game was rejected by big names, and the devs almost went bankrupt, but they decided to put more in it. It went into the shadows and started to grow silently, away from advertisement, only being found through a search box. It grew, and grew, and grew, until one day: October 8th, 2017, where Steve Sinclair, the video game director of Warframe, decided to make it explode, and recorded a few seconds of the Plains Of Eidolon teaser in Times Square, NYC, then it went supernova. Plains Of Eidolon update was sent out, the community basically doubled, and the players were satisfied.

I've been playing since June 11th, 2017, and I've been having a blast, and have recently sworn to no longer spend money on Warframe and grind for it all, and I'm glad I did that because it made my experience, my enjoyment, with the game skyrocket. The AAA visuals of the game, the only game that doesn't drop frames when lagging, the customization of everything (which if there was a thing called too much customization, Warframe breaks out in laughter at that), the platinum economy (platinum, Warframe's premium currency) through trading, the community, and it as a whole just impresses me, and the devs, unlike other developers, actually communicate with their players through things like Twitter and the forums. The content releases are free, and the only things you're spending money on is what you want. You see something you want, you purchase it, and you move on.

Overall, this game made me want to support them, and I'm willing to support them however I can.
    This is my Warframe review.
    Thanks for reading,
    Specter.

(before all, Sorry for my bad English, i learn it all in games) Critics talking about Warframe: "this game is pure p2w" "is a good game, p2w is a pity" and so it goes.

The Truth: the game is excellent, the people confuse pay to win with the pay to hurry, only that, also do not realize that with the market of the community it is possible to get cash without putting 1 cent in the game

    - Graphics and sound are great, cool design
    - The movement system.. it's. just. gorgeous. Never seen that in any game and after getting used to it I missed it in many other games like titanfall (which already has a pretty solid movement system)
    - Even if you don't have much time, you can accomplish something since a mission shouldn't take more than 20 minutes (once you get a feel for the movement system, most missions won't take longer than 5, max 10 minutes)
    - Very fair free to play game, nearly every item is obtainable without spending a dime.. even cosmetics (tennogen items not included, those are community made and the creator gets a cut of the revenue DE makes off of them)
    - content for several hundred of hours, easily
    - hundreds of weapons, every one of them with different stats and sounds. Some shoot bullets, others grenades, others are flamethrowers, others are blades with integrated shotguns... with new weapons arriving every few months
    - currently 34 Warframes (a new one already in the oven), not including the primed version
    - primed versions of weapons, warframes, landing craft, mods (slightly better versions of the original versions, mainly for endgame)
    - you can have kubrows (dogs), kavats (cats) and sentinel (flying robot things) that support you in the battle with damage and/or utility; careful! Kubrows and kavats can die if you don't look after it.
    - customization of basically everything is a huge part of the game (colors of warframes, weapons, companion, landing craft, placing objects into your landing craft, etc etc) #fashionframe
    - many different mission types (mobile defense, extermination, spy, interception, hijack, etc)
    - time based events (alerts, sorties, special events like acolytes or plaque star which are available for a couple of days/weeks before they are gone)
    - modding system gives a possibly huge amount of customization on how you want to play a certain weapon (Fire rate, elemtal damage, crit damage, multishot, raw damage, reload speed and many more)
    - 99% of the community. the game is mainly pve so the community is generally really nice and helpful.. ofc you will face a dick every now and then but that's very rare
    - The Developers. Digital Extremes does an amazing job at being transparent about changes and listening to the community (Devstream roughly every 2 weeks). Although they have to decree some stuff every now and then it's generally a good balance and the community is well integrated into the balance process

    The maybe Good, maybe Bad:
    - one of the grindiest games I've personally ever played (I love it but I'm certain many won't)
    - you need to build weapons/warframes in order to use them from blueprints (weapons take usually 24 hours, warframes 72 hours, not counting the part building time which takes 12 hours). Personally I don't find it as bad because there are tons of things to do in warframe and you can always have some stuff waiting in your foundry ready to be claimed but especially in the beginning it's very annoying ("Woooh! Got my first warframe and all the parts! can't wait for that 72 hours waiting time so I can check it out")

    The Bad:
    - it takes a lot more time than usual to get the hang of the game (many different systems that are not explained well.. or at all)
    - wiki of warframe is pretty important if you want to progress. It's a so called wiki game that only really takes off once you use the wiki to gather information the game doesn't offer
    - the starter cosmetic loadout is.. bad.. there are only like 10-20 colors you can pick from, though the cool colors like black, white, pure red etc are locked behind platinum. So unless you have a buddy that may gift it to you, you are stuck with the small amount of colors until you learn how to trade or pay money
    - repetitive gameplay. While I mentioned that warframe has many different gamemodes, usually it looks very similar in most of them.. you either kill as much as you can (exterminate, interception, defense) or you rush to the objective/target and rush to the exit, ignoring all of the enemies (spy, rescue, capture)
    - untouched systems. Warframe has so many systems that some of them aren't really thought through and could see a revisit. Archwing comes to mind but also stuff like Rivens (possibly very powerful mods with random stats) or focus (not going into this because spoiler.. but once there you will know what I mean)
    - invulnerable bosses. The developers seem to love bosses that have invulnerable phases. Even if that means that a boss is 95% of the time invulnerable (hello vay hek). I can see that if everyone is basically an op space ninja they have to do sth to make the bosses somewhat tough.. but that's not the way I would like them to be.. make them tanky af or w/e but invulnerable with tiny spots where you can actually hurt them is definition of tedious gameplay

    100 characters.. gosh I would have mentioned a lot more but I can't :c

    Tl;dr: It's great. Get it!

It's very fun, but the whole experience is marred by a slew of game-breaking bugs, an extremely oppressive premium currency that you NEED, it is NOT OPTIONAL, if you want to use any more than a select few warframes and weapons, and a level up system that's time-gated. On top of this, not paying comes with several more time gates that range from a few hours to a full day (three days if youIt's very fun, but the whole experience is marred by a slew of game-breaking bugs, an extremely oppressive premium currency that you NEED, it is NOT OPTIONAL, if you want to use any more than a select few warframes and weapons, and a level up system that's time-gated. On top of this, not paying comes with several more time gates that range from a few hours to a full day (three days if you want to construct warframes) that totally halt all progression from planet to planet until the clock ticks down *or* you break out your wallet. And the prices on platinum are a downright swindle for what you get unless you get a rare, RNG-based 75% off coupon as your daily login reward, the rest of which may as well just say "Sorry, come back again tomorrow!"

Too many people give this game a pass by saying "Oh, but it's free to play, they have to make money somehow!" or "Oh, but you can trade for platinum, so stop complaining and just get to work!" Sorry, that's not a good enough argument to defend game mechanics that fundamentally are designed to coax anyone who has to suffer through them to just pay a few bucks and make the pain stop. EA wouldn't get a pass for this, neither should DE.

That said, I can tell how much passion DE has put into this game. There are dozens of warframes, which act as the game's classes, and each of them plays significantly different. Weapons are varied and unique, and each one requires a different playstyle and mod setup to make work. Some warframes, like Frost, excel at area denial and crowd control, making them a game-changer in defensive modes, others, like Nekros, make farming items less of a hassle by giving you double the loot, and still others, such as Octavia, support their team through abilities that grant buffs while also being quite a hindrance to enemy forces.

In the end, simply removing the practically harassing for payment arbitrary time gates that prevent basic progression from planet to planet (and artificially limit the rate at which someone can level up) would stack another two points onto my score. Fixing the many bugs I've experienced where the objective becomes unable to be completed, being able to fall out of the map without it transporting you back as it so happily loves to do if you so much as risk a fall, matchmaking freaking out and piling players together without the mission starting until you fiddle around with it, movement while not aiming being extremely jittery and awkward when moving backwards, and enemies teleporting around the map due to broken animations (not the effects of lag - lag just makes it that much worse), among many others, mixed with the removal of the aforementioned timegates would make this game a perfect 10. You know, it's kind of a shame this game is strictly free to play. It forces DE to implement such oppressive systems in order to make as much money off of as many people as they possibly can.

When it all began it were a 'simple corridor shooter' and now in 2017 it's still a corridor shooter - but a deeply satisfying and polished upgrade of what emerged with the launch of Playstation 4. Actually, it's more than that. Warframe got a tremendous amount of content in form of deep lore, astounding relations between developers and fanbase, with user generated content which is managed in a great way, a vast blend of objectives, quests, frames (essentially characters), an enormously satisfying grinding, looting and farming for stuff. And its in game economy is unheard of - yes, you'll find micro transactions - but it's literally the opposite path of actual trading and relic farming that's the beauty of it. The game is free and all high-end gear can be farmed with great satisfaction or traded between players in a working, mature ingame-economy.
So, why aren't everyone playing Warframe? I believe that when most picked it up, that is Year 1, the game still remained in a simple alpha-state, and now - get this - it's in beta and on par with AAA-titles. The only current flaw is that the entity of the game in its current state is so deep and overwhelming for new players that it can be hard to just get in there and wing it. Fortunately Warframe got one of the most supportive players ever, eager to explain stuff to newcomers. I picked up the game last year and, with a short break for Destiny 2, actually kept on playing - and I still learn things from it. If you're intrigued by this, I highly recommend to go on Youtube and watch one of the many introduction-videos. And while you're doing that, I also recommend that you start downloading it, and that you start playing it because it's a hidden gem in plain sight. Free-to-play. Hard to stop playing it.
Development is constantly evolving. And fast. The latest addition is the open-world Plains of Eidolon, which is available very early in the game, and it's huge. This is very appealing to some, former Destiny players mainly, but the action in the game as a whole will surely take you by surprise once you start trying it out for yourself. Simple corridor running or not.

Reviews should be rewritten by the press. Your actions have consequences.

Having a group to play with makes it much better. Its rather grindy but thats the kind of genre its supposed to be. For people who like games like Borderlands, Destiny, and PoE. And since I'm writing this at the same time that Destiny 2 is newly released on PC, this game has loads more content and reasons to keep playing that Destiny. The only thing I'd give this game on Destiny 2 is the overall polish and graphics. Besides that, this F2P game blows a triple A title like Destiny 2 out of the water and if anything exposes how complacent the gaming community has become with these huge publishers just recycling assets, slapping a new title on it, adding some micro transactions, and calling it good. Give you money to a dev team who truly cares about their playerbase and continues to innovate instead of making money grabs. Expand

Play Warframe. Play it for more than a few hours, preferably with friends, and keep an open mind into doing some third-party research to straighten out some of these systems. Warframe takes so much of what makes ARPG’s addictive, and rounds it out with more polish and depth than most its competitors on the current games market. If the hooks aren’t deeply embedded by then, maybe something this in-depth isn’t for you.
