After 6 years of playing this sh**, I would say that it is not worthy of your attention in 2023, it feels like you are playing an open beta project that requires donation from you to "support" the game. While indie games that are developed by one person have normal quality leaves, in War Thunder the leaves have not changed since the release of the game, even on new maps. The balancer does not play the game, but is based on the statistics of earned research points and silver lions. They recruit map makers from freelance, because for three years there was not a single normal map. Lods on maps are generally a separate art form, and especially in Helicopter PvE. In tank RBs at high BR, attack aircraft are not playable due to the abundant amount of air defense systems, the repair cost for these attack aircraft is unjustifiably high, and stock vehicles are the most unplayable vehicles in the game, if you want to play donate, if you want to get to the top vehicle faster, donate if if you want to have damage, donate (I don’t know how it works, but it works), if you don’t want to play on one map, donate. And your list of unwanted cards in this game does not count. And Gaijins wanted to sh** on the opinion of players who don't donate to the game. No donation, no game////

Спустя 6 лет игры в это говно, я бы сказал что оно не достойно вашего внимания в 2023, такое чувство что ты играешь в открытую бета, проект который требует от тебя доната что бы "поддержать" игру. В то время как инди игры которые разрабатывает один человек имеют листья нормального качества, в War Thunder листья не менялись с релиза игры, даже на новый картах. Балансировщик не играет в игру а основуется на статистике заработанных очков исследования и серебряных львов. Картоделов походу с фриланса набирают, потому что в течении трёх лет не было ни одной нормальной карты. Лоды на картах это вообще отдельный вид искусства а особенно в Вертолётных PvE. В танковых РБ на высоких БР штурмовая авиация не играбельна за счёт обильного количества ЗРК, цена ремонта на эти штурмовики не оправдано высока, а стоковая техника это самая не играбельная техника в игре, хочешь играть задонать, хочешь быстрее дойти к топовой технике, задонать, если хочешь что бы у тебя был урон, задонать (не знаю как это работает, но оно работает), не хочешь играть на одной какой-то карте, задонать. А твой список нежелательных карт в этой игре не учитывается. И Gaijins срать хотели на мнение игроков которые не донатят в игру. Нет доната, нет игры    … Expand

    They only wants your money. Bad economic. You can play only in lowest grafic settings to see enemies . Bad servers. Ultra high prices. Bad maps. No balance. Good game onl on low tier levels.

    I've played about 1,000 hours since 2015 and in 2020 my patience ran out. Finally, I'm not the only one who's had a breakdown. As an experienced player I would like to list the "pluses" of this wonderful game that have been introduced.
    1) Taking away points for taking off and landing
    2) Points are no longer given for engaging in combat/virtue with opponents 3) No points given for tanking    I've played about 1,000 hours since 2015 and in 2020 my patience ran out.     4) No more x5 and x2 reward for first battle of the day on a nation
    5) Reduced combat time from 60 to 25 minutes
    6) Deletion of Gold Wager
    7) Removal of gold for completing training
    8) Nerf profit for winning by 20% (yes it was added to the loss, but the profit itself is less in net figures)
    9) Elimination of helicopter modes and the complete inability to pump helicopters without donation
    10) Even from their highly questionable and controversial battlepasses they cut one vehicle, making them 3 instead of 4
    11) Points from capturing the point is now divided among all, rather than given to each, so there is no point in waiting for people on the point
    12) Removal of crowbars as stock ammo for tanks
    13) Removal of small prizes in marathons (previously there were 6 prizes, but now there are only 4)
    14) Introducing tank based vanshooting anti-aircraft guns to the centre of the map
    15) Nerf rewards and orders for farming in battle

    The game itself may be novel, but it is operated by the worst game company that mocks users. I recommend that you do not even look at this game.

    I'd say it's been a constant downhill slide, but it's more of a constant, growing squeeze towards making exorbitant pay-to-play in-game purchases the only sustainable way to research and maintain a roster of vehicles. The game is soul-sucking and mostly painful. The company is greedy **** The occasional high of shooting down a jet at mach 2 in no way makes up for the rest of the smell.

    Long time player, I like quite a few aspects of the game, but the problems (in-game economy, BR compression,...) have become so big that I really can't currently recommend War thunder to new players.

    Personally, I played War Thunder because of the tank battles. The tanks are actually a lot of fun, and especially in realistic battles, War Thunder stands out from WoT (World of Tanks).
    BUT the aircraft in tank battles ruin the balance, and it's just not enjoyable. Tank battles are broken because of the aircraft, and I wonder: Why isn't there a Tanks Only mode? Why?

    There are more criticisms too, as the progress in the vast research trees is very slow, especially without a Premium account, making the game feel more like Pay to Win.

    After playing for years I have recently uninstalled the game. I have played both World of Tanks/Warships and this game. The devs of these companies seem to be competing with each other to see who can be the most toxic towards their playerbase. I for one am now done with both games and unless the toxicity of the devs changes for both will likely never return.     Absolutely anti-consumer practices of Gaijin are not acceptable. I played this game for thousands of hours and this is the last straw.
    They are refusing to hear players and instead they are trying to silence them out.

    I've been playing this game on and off since air open beta, and at this point the game is beyond saving if they continue like this. The only way to progress at any sane rate is to have a premium vehicle and premium account, otherwise you are actively losing silver lions every match. Just don't play anymore, they have the gall to threaten closing the game so let's see if they're bluffing or not.

    So that's it, I'd you asked me about this game 3 years ago I'd say that it's a dream for a military enthusiasts, although grind was a bit hard but manageable, but as of now things changed, through years of constant developers' greed the game is in almost unplayable state for any new player, and even veterans have hard time enjoying it. Until situation improves I advise against playing this game.

    The game has simple gameplay modes - same ones we’ve been doing for 20 years. The sound design is incredible due to recent updates. Damage modules of the tanks isn’t consistent. Get used to hearing your teammates whining. This game costs you time and money to play. It takes a part of your brain. It’s not worth it. Avoid. The recent economy changes made this worse

    One of the cornerstones of War Thunder is that player’s skill is more important than his wallet. Premium vehicles offer no combat advantages, there is no “microtransaction-only” ammo or consumables, so no amount of cash will buy you a spot on the top of the food chain. [Issue#216, p.56]

    The official launch of War Thunder reminded me why I like this game so much. It's adorably chaotic - in contrast to the reliably designed World of Tanks. That's why it can be really fun and frustrating at the same time. There's tons of great vehicles (and the planes are superb!) and a difficult simulation mode, but there are also balance and technical issues.
