    This game is actually a simulator of... the Soviet Union (you'll forget that GAJIN, apparently "not knowing what was going on to happen"... escaped to... Hungary xD). I don't mean simulator of vehicles, but COUNTRY.

    The game is a simulator of how people were pushed around in the Soviet regime. You are constantly mocked and sent to another place, treated as cannon fodder or... punished (with or without reason and of course without the possibility of appeal).
    Servers down? (common issue) You may ask when we can expect the repair? Your question at best will be deleted. "Everything works, comrade! Don't ask or... BAN." Have you encountered a strange phenomenon (maybe BUG) and are trying to figure out if it's just you who has the problem? You will get everything from mockery to further warnings but no answer. Want to get anything done? "This is not the place, comrade. Run from department to department. From institution to institution (so as not to get anything done). Do you want to complain about illegal activity? If you have not been banned yet... you are probably in the wrong place and the person to whom you are addressing "has absolutely no supervision, contact or causative power" xD
    As for the game itself. Nothing depends on you here either. Battles are so "random" that you lose even if you play great (but you are "unlucky"). Sometimes everything works out strangely (because in this battle your opponent is supposed to be defeated). This is trully the BEST SIMULATOR OF SOVIET UNION I've ever encountered. The game can be very instructive for fans of "great Russia". It's pity the Pope didn't play it...    … Expand

    O jogo tem o potencial pra ser o melhor jogo de guerra, mas o jogo é muito chato, a progressão é muito lenta e não te incentiva a continuar jogando, quanto mais você consegue progredir e librar mais veículos, mais chato vai ficando o jogo, basicamente os únicos 2 objetivos nas partidas são capturar pontos e destruir todo o time inimigo, não tem nenhuma maneira alternativa de progredir comoO jogo tem o potencial pra ser o melhor jogo de guerra, mas o jogo é muito chato, a progressão é muito lenta e não te incentiva a continuar jogando, quanto mais você consegue progredir e librar mais veículos, mais chato vai ficando o jogo, basicamente os únicos 2 objetivos nas partidas são capturar pontos e destruir todo o time inimigo, não tem nenhuma maneira alternativa de progredir como fazer algum objetivo secundário, tem modos de jogo PVE, mão são igualmente horríveis de jogar, de tanque vem ondas IMENSAS de tanques inimigos de todos os lados vc basicamente não consegue cobertura e fica morrendo tanto que quando vc ganha a partida(se vc tiver essa sorte) o preço que vc pagou pela reparação dos tanques é o valor q vc ganha no fim da partia, vc basicamente paga pra jogar essa porcaria de jogo… Expand

    I have been playing this game since the day it came out. It is really fun, However dev's only care about making themselves money. You have a better chance becoming an actual fighter pilot IRL then reaching top tier without premium. If you are planning on being a free to play player, stay away you are literally wasting your time.

    LET THEM KNOW. 0 for camouflage decorations that hide turret, hull armor and weak spots. These cosmetics turn the game into garbage.

    I don't play anything else than ground battles so if you are a tank enjoyer wishing to take part in TANK VS TANK fights then don't play this game. It is absolutely f-ed by planes giving, in 95% of the occurrences, 0 chances for tank players to survive. Planes are ridiculously easy to spawn with, very often you see players taking a very fast low tier tank, cap a point and get an assist andI don't play anything else than ground battles so if you are a tank enjoyer wishing to take part in TANK VS TANK fights then don't play this game. It is absolutely f-ed by planes giving, in 95% of the occurrences, 0 chances for tank players to survive. Planes are ridiculously easy to spawn with, very often you see players taking a very fast low tier tank, cap a point and get an assist and voilà, thy spawn in a ridiculously overpowered bomber ready to nuke half your team. And if you have the displeasure of killing a player with planes, be sure that 100% of the time you're the main target. It doesn't matter if they dive and just die after killing you ; it doesn't matter if there are lightly armored tanks nearby, you showed them you're more skilled on the ground, well they will **** you up from the sky where you can just cry about it and go back to the garage. GROUND REALISTIC BATTLES are cancerous because of these planes that ruin the entire experience, and there is nothing you can od about it. It is the same at every stage of the game, whether you have low tier vehicles or modern ones fighting on the ground against jets that have missiles that can lock on to your vehicle from kilometers away, without you even beginning to consider that a plane is aiming at you. And I won't even begin to talk about long-ranged drones...This game is worth nothing, and especially not your time. Go play WoT, at least you can fight ground targets there.… Expand

    Personally, I played War Thunder because of the tank battles. The tanks are actually a lot of fun, and especially in realistic battles, War Thunder stands out from WoT (World of Tanks).

    Want to drive around in tanks only? Well too bad, have fun being s*it on by aircraft. Aircraft has their own air battles only mode.     - TOO MANY HACKERS - Top tier has too many cheaters especially since the Asia server shut down. I have found 6 aimbot+wallhackers (confirmed via replay from their perspective) in just a week of playing at top tier! And the worst part is that I reported them in every way possible weeks ago. Their accounts are still up.
    - RUSSIAN BIAS - The devs are russian, and as a result, russian tanks    - TOO MANY HACKERS - Top tier has too many cheaters especially since the Asia server shut down. NATO tanks don't get their correct armor and are often 10+ years older than the Russian counterparts. Don't bother playing top tier if russia is not generally on your team.
    - ANTI FRANCE ITALY BIAS - One of their wives must have cheated on them with a french-italian man, because these two nations are gimped in incredibly petty ways that make them pure pain to play especially at high-top tier.

    The only good things about the game are the damage models and how accurate the tanks are VISUALLY compared to real life (performance vs IRL depends on the devs' feelings about the nation)    … Expand

I've deleted it back in early June, but I've decided to give it another chance after the developers claimed they will be improving the economy.     I dont wanna make a negative review on warthunder but they make the game worse, it used to be fun in the past if you kill 3 tanks you will get 1k rp but now it got nerfed so much you need to kill atleast 5 tanks to make 1k rp and if you make a mistake then say goodbye to your silver lion
    Btw, download this game is a huge mistake I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT

Gaijin has consistently made it more difficult and time-consuming to progress in the game without shelling out real money. It feels like they have intentionally made the grind unbearable in order to create frustration and tempt players into purchasing premium content. This predatory behavior is unacceptable and tarnishes the overall experience.

    Moreover, Gaijin's decision to introduce overpriced premium vehicles and modifications has completely unbalanced the gameplay. It's disheartening to witness a once-level playing field turn into a pay-to-win battlefield. Skilled players who refuse to spend excessive amounts of money are at a significant disadvantage, as premium vehicles and upgrades offer unfair advantages, leading to a frustrating and unbalanced gameplay experience.

    The continuous introduction of "special events" with exclusive rewards only accessible to those who pay is another blatant example of Gaijin's money-driven agenda. These events often require an extraordinary amount of time and dedication, effectively locking out casual players who can't commit to the game around the clock or aren't willing to open their wallets. It's disheartening to see a game I once enjoyed devolve into a paywall-ridden nightmare.

    Additionally, Gaijin's customer support has been disappointing. Countless reports of bugs, glitches, and other issues go unanswered or receive generic responses. It seems like the developers are more interested in adding new premium content than addressing the concerns of their player base.

    All in all, War Thunder has turned into a disappointing experience due to Gaijin Entertainment's blatant greed and lack of player-friendly policies. The constant changes to the economy and the introduction of pay-to-win mechanics have ruined what was once a promising game. Until Gaijin reevaluates their approach and focuses on providing a fair and balanced gameplay experience, I cannot recommend War Thunder to anyone looking for an enjoyable and rewarding gaming experience.    … Expand

    Раньше было забавно, но последние обновления превратили игру в доильню, где уже толком невозможно заработать и прокачаться без премиум аккаунта. Зато мыло, баги с физикой и отсуствие баланса как было, так и осталось.

Poor customer service, and updates have eroded the community's confidence that the game will be improved, or continue to be supported. Toxic subset of the player base, as well as lacking or abused moderation makes the game unsuitable for younger players.

    Imagine a company that cared so little about their players that it seemed like they were doing the opposite of what the community wanted 99% of the time. When the community began to give negative reviews on Steam they were removed. War Thunder takes greed to a new level. Do not play this game.

    The game is fun but the economy is annoying especially in top tier that is why I just completely avoided playing it and started going back to 4.0. also the reviews from steam got removed and went to off topic while a positive review on how to make butter chicken is still there.

    Why I can recommend it? Just try the game it is free.

    Be aware that if you want to play top tier planes, tanks or boats this game might not make you happy. The way to get there is incredibly long and the balancing is not very polished (Usually a re-balance of OP stuff leads to a new long unbalanced time period with new OP stuff).

    I'd say it's been a constant downhill slide, but it's more of a constant, growing squeeze towards making exorbitant pay-to-play in-game purchases the only sustainable way to research and maintain a roster of vehicles. The game is soul-sucking and mostly painful. The company is greedy **** The occasional high of shooting down a jet at mach 2 in no way makes up for the rest of the smell.

    I have well over 1000 hours of War Thunder played. I have been playing this game since it had aircraft only, for so many years, but I eventually had to stop. Gaijin intentionally ruins their economy and punishes players for just playing the game, so paying is pretty much mandatory.     Outside of that, balance is non-existent, things are kept overpowered intentionally so players pay to grind them and are then nerfed, some tiers are borderline unplayable, so are some poorly balanced nations, and so is the whole of naval. Powercreep happens constantly, particularly at higher tiers.

    And this is just the short of it. This game is not worth anyone's time. Don't play it. And, by the way, like every single time one of these community outrages happen, Gaijin will probably end up throwing a bone at the playerbase without fixing any of the game's issues. Don't fall for it. We at least need a serious change and a complete economy overhaul.    … Expand

Combined with the fact that even with premium time and vehicles the grind is still on the level of free to play to the point that it feels near pointless to even spend money on the game. All this combined with Gaijins lack of communication with the playerbase to the point that they are literally detached from reality just adds to the frustration, not to mention that on the few occasions where they have decided to actually collect feedback it has been after enourmous effort from the whole playerbase threatning Gaijins bottom line that they have come out with a half baked appology, followed with talking down and patronizing of their players and finally a poll with two equally bad options for the players to choose from. This cirlce repeats every so often and its results usually wary from keeping the status Quo to making the game even worse, while celebrating the success of "Co-operation" between the players and Gaijin. Not to mention that the Publisher threatened to shut down the game if they recieved any more negative critic and the fact that they refuse to consider any comments and or suggestions that aren't posted on their forums, in which in order to post something it has to be reviewed by a moderator and accepted before anyone can see it.

    This free to play game offers you the option to either not affording to play the game for free or buying premium and still not affording to play the game, all the while talking down to and patronizing the customer.    … Expand

    9) Elimination of helicopter modes and the complete inability to pump helicopters without donation
    10) Even from their highly questionable and controversial battlepasses they cut one vehicle, making them 3 instead of 4
    11) Points from capturing the point is now divided among all, rather than given to each, so there is no point in waiting for people on the point
    12) Removal of crowbars as stock ammo for tanks
    13) Removal of small prizes in marathons (previously there were 6 prizes, but now there are only 4)
    14) Introducing tank based vanshooting anti-aircraft guns to the centre of the map
    15) Nerf rewards and orders for farming in battle

    The mechanics of volume shells were added to the game back in 2018, but as practice has shown, this mechanic does not allow you to pierce what you should pierce. Also interesting damage to light vehicles that do not die and sometimes do not even break through.
    There are also a lot of cars in the game that need to change combat ratings because they are too high.
    The economy is also not in the best condition, it does not allow you to play for 7.3 - 11.7 plus on earnings, which forces players to grind or buy higher premiums.    … Expand

The balancer does not play the game, but is based on the statistics of earned research points and silver lions. They recruit map makers from freelance, because for three years there was not a single normal map. Lods on maps are generally a separate art form, and especially in Helicopter PvE. In tank RBs at high BR, attack aircraft are not playable due to the abundant amount of air defense systems, the repair cost for these attack aircraft is unjustifiably high, and stock vehicles are the most unplayable vehicles in the game, if you want to play donate, if you want to get to the top vehicle faster, donate if if you want to have damage, donate (I don’t know how it works, but it works), if you don’t want to play on one map, donate. And your list of unwanted cards in this game does not count. And Gaijins wanted to sh** on the opinion of players who don't donate to the game. No donation, no game////

В то время как инди игры которые разрабатывает один человек имеют листья нормального качества, в War Thunder листья не менялись с релиза игры, даже на новый картах. Балансировщик не играет в игру а основуется на статистике заработанных очков исследования и серебряных львов. Картоделов походу с фриланса набирают, потому что в течении трёх лет не было ни одной нормальной карты. Лоды на картах это вообще отдельный вид искусства а особенно в Вертолётных PvE. В танковых РБ на высоких БР штурмовая авиация не играбельна за счёт обильного количества ЗРК, цена ремонта на эти штурмовики не оправдано высока, а стоковая техника это самая не играбельная техника в игре, хочешь играть задонать, хочешь быстрее дойти к топовой технике, задонать, если хочешь что бы у тебя был урон, задонать (не знаю как это работает, но оно работает), не хочешь играть на одной какой-то карте, задонать. А твой список нежелательных карт в этой игре не учитывается. И Gaijins срать хотели на мнение игроков которые не донатят в игру. Нет доната, нет игры    … Expand

    You need to perform exceptionally well to make a decent amount of in-game money, and if you fail, you get taxed and suffer.
    Also if you perform very well, you get treated unfairly in the matchmaking system by being put in matches with vehicles that are higher technology than yours.
    For example lets say you use a late WW2 tank and do very well. Next game you'll likely be placed with post WW2 tanks made in 1960s.
    Because the game devs doesn't want you to do too well.
    The game devs don't want to implement a rank/skill based matchmaking system that would be more fair to players.
    So to combat the well performing players, they simply get put in a highly unfair match with vehicles superior to theirs.    … Expand

    One of the cornerstones of War Thunder is that player’s skill is more important than his wallet. Premium vehicles offer no combat advantages, there is no “microtransaction-only” ammo or consumables, so no amount of cash will buy you a spot on the top of the food chain. [Issue#216, p.56]

    The official launch of War Thunder reminded me why I like this game so much. It's adorably chaotic - in contrast to the reliably designed World of Tanks. That's why it can be really fun and frustrating at the same time. There's tons of great vehicles (and the planes are superb!) and a difficult simulation mode, but there are also balance and technical issues.
