It straddles the abyss between simulation and arcade, and it does it seemingly effortlessly. [May 2007, p.78]

Not so good for the eyes than top spin but more simple to play I like a lot.

Also the campaign is very interesting with a lot of attributes and many interesting training games. In the beginning of the game it is fun to improve the player and feel the development. But there is a big mistake in the campaign: The game gets ridiculously difficult after you reach Top 100 and want to enter the 100+ tournaments. Also the training games are very hard on 5th and 6th level, which you need for grind your attributes.
Graphics and sounds are nice, but there could be more players, for example you play against Nadal or Federer as a rookie and win. Later on you play against them again and the games are challenging. This is unrealistic.

However it might be too much arcade for some people, including me. The ball never hits the net during a rally, it never falls on the line, it almost never goes out of court. These are very important aspects in any tennis game. Also keep in mind that with no multiplayer mode, you will perhaps get stuck with the CPU, which i found very easy to beat even on the hardest level. Graphics are nice to look at, although some player faces aren't that accurate. The create a player mode is one of the worst i have seen in a while, which is really annoying if you are playing the tour mode. If you can deal with the game's limitations, and you prefer arcade gameplay, you will perhaps have fun with it. Otherwise give Top Spin 2 a try. Expand

Good game, for 30 minutes, the you turn it off, and turn on 3 months later again for 20 minutes...

decent graphicaly, but empty in terms of gameplay.

It has lots of the stars of the sport in it yes, but the game lacks atmosphere and depth. The create a player is really lacking in and depth much like the arcade style gameplay. You cant preform dropshots, even when you max out the service bar you cant seem to ace anyone.

Rallys can go on for ever but yet seem completley boring., the play lacks any of the real flow and feel of real life tennis.

The training games are fun but somewhat silly - c'mon dodging giant tennis balls while picking up fruit!

Its ok for a quick fun blast if your the type of person that dosent want to invest more than 5 minutes into getting used to a game but if your a tennis buff looking for a tennis simulator then look for Top spin Tennis or its sequal.

Hopefully soon there will be Top spin 3 for PC too.

This one for me falls well short
