    You have to know how to use gun in Valorant and play a bit well to get entertained. Otherwise it can became unbearable because it's gun shooting and spraying are different from other FPS games.

    Love hate relationship. I'm pretty terrible at it. Honestly its fun but it has so many flaws. Maps are actually terrible, Riot Games can't make a god d**m good map. You only use Vandal, Phantom, or Operator. and characters are extremely unbalanced. But its a great game to play with friends. Otherwise uh yeah. Not so great.

    I think this game sits in an interesting niche, agents can radically change the way you play but at the end of the day there's no substitute for quick reflexes, good aim, and situational awareness. The ttk is too high for my tastes, but i love the creativity in agent design and i like the carry potential.

    Fun and good game at its core, a free alternative to CSGO with its upsides (lower skill floor, more quality of life improvements, more characters granting more variety to matches) and downsides (terrible smurf/cheater detection system, overinflated prices of skins, anticheat program issues). Can also be fun as a 5-stack of friends in normal games.

    I started playing this game as a break from Counterstrike Source and Counterstrike: Global Offensive as all of these games fall under tactical shooters and seem to operate very similarly.

    My rating is an 7, as I now have several hundred hours and stream this game regularly. I love the competitive aspect of the game, and regularly enjoy Competetive matches. The gun balance and gameplay is pretty optimized, but the game sometimes suffers from network issues. One on one battles can be decided based on your ping.

    Maps leave something to be desired. Most maps are defensively-sided or offensively-sided, with a middle ground not being found very often. The balance seems off, but the maps are built well and allow for good gun play.

    The learning curve is STEEP, which drives a lot of new players away unintentionally. The game is hard to pick up, but with practice it is a game that anyone can be competitive at.

    The community has gotten better since the initial release. Players are generally friendly and play well with each other. It has come a long way since the toxicity of the initial launch and beta testing.

    Overall, fun game. Tactical shooters are always fun because you really need some skill to win. There are some issues with the game, but the actual playing experience is great!    … Expand

    Character Design isn't that bad. Each character is pretty unique. The gameplay is alright. Its just that the community is garbage. I get a lot of toxic people in my games who can't wait to point out any flaw I do missed headshot etc. The game is really corner camping based. You thought rainbow 6 was campy this game you have to check each corner and the map designers love making corners.

    Whenever i feel bad about my performance in CS:GO, I go to play this game to feel better about myself. For that confidence boost alone, it's 6/10 (community is absolutely cringe, the amount of people called some form of 'mommy/daddy', 'milkers', etc. and the amount of e-couples...)

    The balance is quite questionable. Riot thought they could create a new CS:GO but without the actual balance behind it. 1 shot sniper rifles won't ever be fun in any game.     The starting music on some maps is pretty cool but the gameplay itself feels just clunky. Like there is a certain actual level of aim required but also not really since the hitboxes feel very off. Frames and the smothness of the gameplay are fine, same for the artstyle itself. Models are easily distinguished from one another.

    I can't say the same about the abilities. Some are over the top strong while others feel completely luckluster. Take Jet vs. Killjoy vs. Reyna. Reyna has the actual ability to solo carry games, same for Jet. Killjoy though? Forget it.

    Now... With all of that said... The anti-cheat kills and freezes my pc. It also causes my pc to take forever to start. These problems are in the game since launch and Riot never bothered to fix any of it.    … Expand

    it is very interesting to play, similar to cs, but technically the game is poorly made, the fps is good, but when you turn on 1000Hz on the mouse, the game starts to lag, when you exit the game, the computer may freeze, if you fix this, it will be a good game

    Listen. This game takes time to love. It's an acquired taste, but that doesn't mean that it should be ruled out like most of the reviews in this forum or however you want to call it say. The sprays are inconsistent, the economy system sucks. A lot. The way that matchmaking happens sucks even more, but the agents are fleshed out and each character has something unique to offer. This is not a blend of CS and OW. In OW, you get flamed for picking a certain hero because they're objectively not very good. There are no bad agents in Valorant, because in the end, all that matters is that you hit your shots. The gunplay is unique to Valorant and unlike CS in the way that it is easier to pick up, but harder to master. Counterstrafing is easier, spraying is much, much harder. Footsteps are louder, people can specialize in a certain type of utility, you don't have to learn lineups on every single map in the whole game just to be competitive. Also, CS is managed by valve, where a single patch in a year is celebrated, and OW is managed by nobody because they dropped the game to make OW2. We may hate riot and their idiot game design choices, but they do care about the game that they are developing, and they aren't making people pay obscene amounts of money to do it. This means that patches are constant, and mistakes that are made can be and usually are fixed. All in all, good game, plenty of stuff to like about it, give it a shot before you write it off after seeing the reviews… Expand

But for real though, shooting, voice acting, general physics and some of the visuals are very nicely done. Specially shooting feels more satisfying that CS:GO ever did. And you can't vote kick a player out of the match. FurthermoreValorant is good but also very lazy. On one hand you have a good CS:GO gameplay and on the other hand, CS probably had more effort put into it when it was made. But for real though, shooting, voice acting, general physics and some of the visuals are very nicely done. Specially shooting feels more satisfying that CS:GO ever did. And you can't vote kick a player out of the match. Furthermore it was disappointing to see less guns, I can understand why they didn't implement more of them.

    Moreover I'd like to say how badly lazy the game is. This is a game came out in 2020. So I'd expect to see some form of updated visuals. Even though it has cartoony graphics like Fortnite I'd still say they could have done more to make it immersing. Just think of how many times you've seen a graphical glitch and thought "hmm, maybe they should fix that in next update". And speaking of updates, their update mostly focuses on new contents or skins. It feels like they put more of their resources on skins than polishing the game. Valorant sucks on detailed visuals, has many pesky bugs, and broken queue ban timer which never got addressed even as I write this masterpiece. Riot just only focused on making the game more precise. [Also in game lore is dismissible. Definitely not Overwatch]

    "Free to play" should not be an excuse for Valorant to be a mobile quality game. And certainly Valorant should not be seen as a great game when it sets the bar too low.    … Expand

    Great for casual gameplay, however it is defeated by CS:GO in terms of gun play and tacticality, the skill ceiling is simply much higher in counter-strike. This game also has quite a bit of a learning curve, with so many agents and abilities to get a hang of. The anti cheat works well.

The guns get very boring, the maps are just as boring, the utility is also just as boring. For a game with abilities, the abilities don't even really add much gameplay-wise, making the game incredibly redundant, I'm not a bigThe game is incredibly repetitive. It may not have a replay viewer, but for the most part I have not encountered a single cheater in my games which is very nice. The graphics also look pretty good though. I'm not a fan of CS:GO at all and I've played very little in it, but even I can see that the VALORANT gameplay is almost exactly like CS:GO.

    The game is fun, until it decides to constantly kick you from the game when in a comp match and then when you lose the match, you lose like 30 rr and it tends to take 2-3 games to get it back, so Riot, please fix your game, it is unfair when this happens.

    I'm going to be drawing some comparisons from CS:GO for this review because that's what this game is trying to be.     I'm going to be drawing some comparisons from CS:GO for this review because that's what this game is trying to be.

    This point might have been debunked, I'm honestly not sure, but Riot's Vanguard has full rights to your computer and can do basically anything to it. Vanguard is always running unless you tell it to quit, which will need a restart if you wish to play again. This becomes an issue if a hacker manages to get into Riot's database. Be aware of this before installing incase you have any sensitive files that need to be protected.

    Now, how I feel about the gameplay. I think this game has a lot of issues. While it is fairly balanced in it's characters, much more than a game like Overwatch, the game suffers from poor gunplay, movement, and map design. The gunplay is rather clunky because the spray is pretty random and unpredictable, unlike CS:GO where skill determines how well you handle recoil and spray. If you move just a little while using a rifle or an awp even while crouching, the spray is random. Gun damage makes little to no sense. 3 shots from an AK-47 to the body does not kill but one shot to the head from a revolver is an instant kill. Movement is definitely not as snappy as it should be, and bunnyhopping is too easy.

    The map design is quite bad. There are so many angles and random spots that someone can be or hold. So simple but so problematic. This way, you can play in a "dumb" manner and be rewarded for this. I feel that CS:GO is better in map design by a lot, at least with maps like Inferno and Mirage.

    I would also like to make a point about abilities. Mostly flashbangs. Many of the flashbang abilities in this game are overpowered. You have little to no time to react, and they can be spammed. Sometimes an ultimate from Brimstone or Viper can easily win the match with little to no risk or skill required.

    I will say I enjoy this game with friends, otherwise I would not play it at all. I'm not sure how many hours I have as Riot doesn't include that as a feature as far as I know, but I played most in the beta and this review is a product of how I feel now.

    I hope that my review is in some ways helpful. This game is not bad but it is not good. It does not accomplish what it is trying to be and therefore gets a 6 from me.    … Expand

    I've been playing for a long time. I played cs go at the time, but it was too ordinary for me. quake champions was too chaotic. I don't like battleroyale games either. That's why I chose this game to play a fun online fps. skins are amazing. but the map designs are terrible. I don't want to play on any map other than split, bind, ascent. especially fracture and breeze is a disaster.I've been playing for a long time. I played cs go at the time, but it was too ordinary for me. quake champions was too chaotic. I don't like battleroyale games either. That's why I chose this game to play a fun online fps. skins are amazing. but the map designs are terrible. I don't want to play on any map other than split, bind, ascent. especially fracture and breeze is a disaster. however, I often have to play on maps that I don't like. there are also people who troll a lot of games. It's annoying to play with stubborn jerks who sabotage the team throughout the game and it happens so often. It is mostly a problem to enjoy the game because of smurf accounts. if the map, smurf, troll accounts problems go away, I will reevaluate my review. especially the map selection feature should come very urgently.… Expand

    played valorant for around 6 months game is decent, needs balancing fixes but the worst part is the community. everyone is a snowflake and you will be given 1 to 3 week bans for basically nothing. I would love to see this game become good but riot just loves destroying their games. if you slip up once its a 72 hr mute without the ability for comp. its BS, not to mention that if youplayed valorant for around 6 months game is decent, needs balancing fixes but the worst part is the community. everyone is a snowflake and you will be given 1 to 3 week bans for basically nothing.     Update = Updating the game can take so long, server is so bad and you will also get false info when updating the game.
    Bugs and Glitches = Game has a alot of bugs especially when the new season comes but they will fix it as soon possible, when the bugs is still on the game and haven't yet been fixed, it can destroy your gameplay, so is the same on glitches.
    Valorant is fun and I recommend playing it but the game is a little bit slow and not that stable nor optimized well    … Expand

    Los personajes es otra cosa que destaca de este juego, hay muchisima variedad y son muy diferentes unos de otros, diferenciandose en roles, algunos tienen habilidades mas pensadas en defensa, soporte, exploradores, o asaltantes.

    Hay pocos modos de juego, siendo todos iguales pero con leves diferencias; al igual que las armas que incluso tienen demasiado recoil y hay que aprender mucho a dominarlas lo cual no es facil de hacer.

    Este juego lamentablemente tiene muchos defectos, el juego vive actualizandose generando mas problemas que soluciones, el juego no esta bien optimizado, los servidores son ree contra inestables, esto se refleja en una variacion de ping altisima que afecta a todos los jugadores, arruinando la experiencia. Y los tiempos de carga de las partidas es demasiado alto para mi gusto.

    El juego tiene demasiado desbalance, teniendo compañeros que no saben usar habilidades o enemigos demasiado experimentados. Nunca habia visto una comunidad tan toxica como en Valorant, te insultan facilmente con el minimo error y con amenazas de reportarte enves de ayudar o colaborar, esto desalienta muchisimo a seguir jugando y al juego en equipo. Inclusive es bastante normal que en el equipo que va perdiendo se desconecte al menos 1 jugador quedando en desventaja.

    Lamentablemente en este juego se pueden utilizar macros o utilizar botones de secuencia de clicks, ayudando mucho a jugadores con buenos perifericos.

    La tabla de puntuaciones creo que es algo que no esta bien implementada, recompensando y fomentando siempre a tener mas bajas enves del juego en equipo. Deberian copiar el sistema de puntuaciones de Battlefield por ejemplo que tienen mucho mejor implementado esto.

    A pesar de todo lo bueno y malo que tiene este juego, veo algo muy bueno que tiene esto y es la facilidad de crear un equipo con tus amigos para jugar, y ya eso es lo suficientemente alentador para seguir jugandolo siendo un juego que personalmente no recomendaria.

    A este juego le veo mucho futuro, si Riot sigue por buen camino y soluciona varios de sus problemas, puede llegar a ser uno de los juegos competitivos clave del futuro.    … Expand

    Most visible cons: if you're a fan of cosmetics you'll get dissapointed because prices for cosmetics (which in themselves aren't inspired at all and usualy they're just recolored weapons), some characters have questionable abilites that don't serve tactical purpose and are purely made to make character a hyper carry (example is Raze). Breach is a broken character that shouldn't be in the form he is in today. This is not a huge flaw but setting on those maps are pretty awful. The game has more variety than CSGO but because of it it's also less balanced. Overall not bad and devs are going to keep adding content so it may get even better.    … Expand

Valorant is just not as good as other shooters out there. The main 2 assault rifles are literally RNG based for the spray and no first shot accuracy on them either. When I first heard that deathmatch was in the works I was excited because I really like CSGO’s deathmatch. But when it came out U was severely disappointed. First of all, its only FFA. Theres no TDM. Second, the mini map shows your location (and others locations) at all times which leads to constant corner camping. Last, its 14 players. FOR FFA! 14 is just way too many players for ffa. If it was TDM with 14 that would be just fine but come on. When I was playing deathmatch I was paranoid and constantly kept looking behind me. Also the spawns suck too. And every time I looked behind my self someone in front of me would headshot dink me with the Vandal while walking. Some things I do like about valorant are its map design. The maps in valorant are pretty cool honestly. I also like character abilities. Riot was able to perfect this in LoL and it transitions pretty well to a FPS game. The gun buying system also in my opinion is better than CSGO’s buying system. Valorant for me just doesn’t hit the mark for an fps game but has some cool features and mechanics. One more bad thing. Most of the players on valorant are mostly people that have played competitive Fortnite and I’m not being the redditor thats like “DURR FORTNITE BAD DURRRR” but if you have ever played a competitive fortnite game you can say that it’s extremely sweaty and people play like they’re gonna win a cash prize. If you happen to get trapped here in a solo queue game, you pray to god and run down praying that the enemy is on the side you are looking at. Also the maps are very small. A game like valorant would benefit from having bigger maps and actually allowing the attacking side a chance. Don''t even get me started on the new map, ice box. It is completely ct sided and has so many angles there is no way to win without playing with friends.
    Leading on to my next point, (secondly,) solo queing is basically impossible. I soloqueued most of my time playing valorant, mainly because many of my friends quit. Especially in the lower ranks, there is 0 communication. This paired with the map design where enemies can be any where at any time makes the game unplayable.
    Finally, The weapons in the game are terrible. There is no first shot accuracy, and the recoil pattern is COMPLETLY random which makes the game just horrible and essentially based on luck.
    In conclusion I think valorant is a game with a very good concept but with very poor designing and gameplay. It is way to reliant on teamates and the weapons make the game luck based. Although I realise that having bad teamates is part of playing an online game, there is no option to try and get rid of these teamates by kicking. Furthermore when there are many afkers which again makes playing soloqueue even more impossible.    … Expand

This a Riot game, which means they will overpower the champs they want you to buy (Reyna, Jett) and reward the style of play that's most exciting for streaming, like the duelist class in general. This is not new for Riot (see Assassins in League of Legends). That all being said, the gameplay is slow and doesn't offer anything new to the FPS genre, the community is more toxic than most, and the matchmaking is the worst I've seen by far.     Gunplay could be really good, however there are times I notice where the horizontal recoil will randomly sway to the left and right not having a consistent pattern like counterstrike, making spraying as well as eco rounds quite miserable to do. The operator is the main exemplifier of this issue as well as the fact that there's only 4 maps right now, and riot's only planning to release a new map once every 9 months, which is an extremely unhealthy content schedule. The agent abilities don't make up for the bland map design and the lack of character in them. I think valorant's either going to be forgotten in a year, or randomly hit a player spike after a few updates like Rainbow Six Siege did the second year it came out.    … Expand

    Valorant is a fun game to play with multiple characters and you can use tons of guns. I do think it seams unfinished 1. there is not enough stages 2. there is no character skins 3. there is not enough original aspects. It is a fun game to play a bit on your free time but it is not mind blowing.

To simplify this review, some of the pros of Valorant are the 128-tick servers, attractive simple graphics, the different ways to play theValorant is a game that I want to enjoy, but with a plethora of competitive fps games already out with large player bases, Valorant has to do better, as it is currently a mess of a game that feels like it was rushed out of the beta to keep the hype. To simplify this review, some of the pros of Valorant are the 128-tick servers, attractive simple graphics, the different ways to play the game with various abilities and the clean UI that has multiple quality improvements such as the buy & sell system before the round starts. Now for the cons, to start, there is the intrusive Vanguard anti-cheat is always running on your system, unless you close it, in which you are forced to restart your computer the next time you want to play the game. The micro-transactions for the in-game weapon skins are to be expected in a free game, but are implemented in a terribly greedy way, as the skins are way overpriced, for example, the Elderflame collection bundle costs 9900 Valorant Points, which you would have to buy the highest Valorant Points bundle for $99.99 USD and then to unlock the upgrades for the skins you need to buy Radianite points using your Valorant Points, so in the end you have to pay $292 USD to have the fully upgraded Elderflame skins. Of course you don't need to buy the skins, but to have them priced so highly is ridiculous and takes advantage of people wanting to look cool in their games. Moving on, the movement often feels slow and sluggish, but it mostly has to do with the fact that the footstep sounds are way too loud and you have to shift-walk across the majority of the map. Next, there are currently only 4 maps to play on, each of the maps are infested with corners that encourage slow "camping" gameplay. You then have the RNG firing mechanics with majority of the automatic weapons, most noticeably with the Vandal having the first shot being completely based on the RNG at a certain range which is unrewarding to players that have good aim, the RNG firing mechanics should have no place in a competitive fps game where the first shot to the head is an instant kill and is extremely important. There are so many problems that exist in the current state of the game, that I am getting tired just writing a list of the one's that I have personally experienced and they are really pushing for Valorant to become an Esports game even with all of the current issues. Riot needs to fix these issues by listening to the feedback given to them from their community, then maybe this game will be great one day and it could potentially become a major Esports title.… Expand

    I really like the graphics even though everyone is not onboard, i like the simple but satisfying gameplay with the possibility to create your very own strategy from the pick face.

    Very disappointed that 1/3 of all games in the lower ranks are won by afk players on the enemy team or your own,
    i will personally take a break from the game until they have fixed a better ban system that keeps players from ruining 40 min of the rest of the teams time. I had the same problem with Overwatch before they changed to role Q.
    Try it but don't expect that every game will be fun. hate winning when i know that they could have put up a fight if they had less toxic or no afk players.

    Man, This game is great and addicting but **** me i hate it. I played 5 rounds of comp and finally got promoted, only to lose it after one lose. If they fixed this it has potential to be a good game.

    It has about 11 characters, half of which you unlock by playing the game and getting points that allow you to move up in two different tiers. One of them is a Seasonal pass type thing many of these F2P games have or like CoD’s seasons, you spend 10 bucks to upon the season and get more things. Honestly, 10 bucks seems like a pretty good value here. It also has a cashshop but doesn’t have loot boxes, you can see what you are buying and decide if it is worth it for you or not. (So far or not on the skins for the weapons)

    This game is clearly made for Esports but it’s a solid game with it’s so far only two types of play. One takes 30-45 minutes and is a first two 13 wins for a total of 25 rounds if you are neck and neck and you buy your equipment at the start of each round. The other is 10-15 and randomly gives you weapons it chooses.

    The game play is very tight and very twitchy. You have to watch your corners and this is not a bullet sponge game in the least, infact a single head shot can end you. The added timer and that one team is defending the other attacking to plant a spike (Bomb) on an A or B target or to just wipe out the other team, really keeps things going.

    Unlike Amazon games Crucible, this game, while not having many features or game types either, just FEELS better. You can tell a lot more time and effort went into the level designs, the powers of the characters, their look and graphics. It just feels good, if you are into team based shooters like Counter Strike or Overwatch. And the price is great!    … Expand

    This game is nice. Riot had good idea to create this game and they did it well but community is BAD, 1 on 3 rankeds, people are toxic or they don't speak and write on chat. If community were nice, I would give 8 but they aren't nice so I give 6.

    Just kind of just a Counter strike clone with EXTREMELY high skin prices with no community market (that CS has). game play is boring and gets repetitive fast. Maps are a big let down with nothing unique (that also become very repetitive). And it seems like the abilities are not suited for this game, kind of like they where thrown in last second.     Does Valorant have more pros? Yes, of course. I'm going to list them in a more clean arrangement with a small description of each pro.

    PROS:
    - It's a funny, fast-paced and addictive FPS.
    - Many say that Valorant it's a competitive game. It is correct but I want to add that "Competitive Mode" is just one of the three modes available at the time I'm writing this review (the other ones are "Unrated" and "Spike Rush").
    - Unlocking certain items by playing a lot the game IS possible, like the Raze's unique pistol skin "Pistoleira" that can't be bought with real money / virtual currency (which isn't a lot, but looking at how lootboxes and micro-transactions are becoming more and more common... It's worth adding this).
    - Heroes are all different and have unique abilities. Also, they are all viable and fun to play.
    - The game runs also on old and weak setups.

    But then why I'm giving Valorant a 5?
    Let's imagine a scenario where Riot didn't make this game, but an indie developer with small knowledge on how marketing and various other things work in the game industry.
    In that case, I would have rated Valorant an 8 out of 10.
    So, what lowered the score so much? Riot, of course, with their awful management and terrible marketing.

    So, now I'm making another section for Cons that will take every point of the Pros section and analyze the errors made by Riot.

    CONS:
    - Yes, it's a fast paced and funny FPS, but I think that the amount of guns in the game... Is kinda low.
    - "Competitive mode" which was already present in the beta wasn't in the official release (I don't know the reason) and required one month to be implemented again (the "Competitive Mode" update is infamous in the Valorant community for the damages that caused to the gameplay, adding glitches and ruining the experience of the game.)
    - Yeah, you can get some skins by playing the game but... What if you want to buy a skin? Well, you have two choices:
    1) BUYING A SKIN PACK: A skin for each gun in the game, a title and a spray (usually changes but this is the standard) costs circa 100€ where I live
    2) BUYING SKINS SEPARATELY: A single skin can usually cost between 10 and 20€
    I don't need to tell you that these prices are too high, in fact, rarely you find players that have these skins.
    - Heroes are all unique and blah-blah-blah but some were/are definitely too strong and should be balanced (same goes for guns)
    - Updates are stupid (100 Mb for an Orb in "Spike Rush" and some balancing? Seriously?)
    - Logs are stupid! (They never told us some crucial information like the deactivation of the "Competitive Mode", information that could be found only on Reddit/Twitter).
    - Loading screens before matches take too much time.
    - Riot Vanguard (just this, if you know something about this game... you know why it's in cons)

    So, in a few words.
    Valorant is a fun experience, I advise trying it solo or with a friend but it has a lot of potential that, at the moment, doesn't get expressed.
    If I could vote in fractional numbers, I would give this game: 5.5    … Expand

    The main thing is that people who have thousands of hours on other tactical shooters like CS:GO, complain about the "lack of skill". The recoil patterns become RNG after a few shots, the abilities are crutches, so on, so forth. I disagree. The abilities have their uses, pros and cons, and like I said before, can be easily countered with better positioning and reaction times. The abilities do require skill to use, especially in the higher tiers of this games ranked mode. Any rank above Iron you cannot just randomly toss a fire into the middle of mid and manage to actually get use out of that fire. The abilities require game sense, logical thinking and strategy to use well.
    The guns. Old dogs from various other FPS games will think that the guns are, "clunky" and shoot like "pea-shooters''. Where they did not elaborate on how the guns were "clunky" and "peashooters" other than saying the SFX are bad. They also say that the guns have too high of a contrast with each other, meaning some guns will not be used most of the time, comparing it with CS:GO, somehow forgetting that the PP Bizon and the M249 exist. The "clunky" shooting mechanics is something I have never felt, so I can't really comment on it. The peashooter guns might be in reference to the starter pistol. The sad part is that people in the user reviews have biased reviews, and mine will certainly have biased opinions in it, but i try to put facts behind the opinions. I have seen a person state in their review that there are "too many pistols” and that many of them will never be used after a pistol round because you will always have enough money to buy a rifle and armor. Anyone who has played this game for more than 4 hours can tell you that is wrong. Eco rounds will happen at least twice every game. it's impossible to always have enough to buy rifles and armor. If you lose the pistol round you will need to either not buy anything or decide to Eco, or to force buy, with most choosing the last 2. The amount of pistols are not the problem. Neither is the amount of ARs. 3 assault rifles, both teams can access. Unlike CS:GO that is referenced more than the Bible nowadays due to this game, the amount of guns is much less than the 33 guns that CS:GO has. The negative reviews are all widely spread out, not focusing on a single bad point most of the time. It's either server ping, Vanguard, guns, abilities. Not a lot of reviews i have stumbled upon have had at least 3 of these listed as issues.
    Now after defending the game, I want to pick on it's bad bits.
    The Anti-Cheat. Vanguard is extremely controversial due to it's invasive methods, and people claim it steals info, shuts down drivers without warning, and causes blue screens. I myself have only experienced the blue screen, but the cool down from having Vanguard blue screen my PC is infuriating and tilting.
    The Graphics. One review that i had to translate because it was in Russian says the graphics were reminiscent of old PS2 games, and i can't disagree. I generally prefer CS:GO's graphics and Valorant's seems a bit cartoony and kid-friendly. In fact the reason i got into the Closed Beta so late was because the graphics were putting me off actually trying to get the game.
    The Toxicity. I cannot say that I'm not toxic at times, but having people immediately throwing after losing pistol or screaming when you miss a shot from 50m away is tilting. Riot promised that toxic players will be punished, but I have played against players that sent slurs into the chat and were not punished immediately. Sure they might've been punished later on, but you don't get informed when they are. It makes me lose trust in the moderation of the game, as I will never know if someone who was toxic or blatantly cheating was banned, or got away scot-free.
    The MMR. Games like CS:GO have skill levels. You have Silver, the worst of the worst, and Global Elite, the best of the best. Every game you play should and is balanced skill-wise. In Valorant, it's the opposite. You can go up against people who drop 50 kills in a single game, and meanwhile you and your teammates get at most 18 kills. The MMR is severely imbalanced and if not fixed, could drive away the playerbase.
    The Skins. I won't lie. I'm broke as hell, but the price of the skins are way too high. $70 for a bundle, and another $70 to "upgrade" the skins. This is an extremely scummy way of earning money.

    Now that the game has been fully-released and has been out for around a month, I can try to give my best critique. The art style does not look good. It isn't very contrasting with characters, it's like the art director forgot everything they used to make the amazing Team Fortress 2 art style and barely tried to replicate it. The gameplay is decent overall, but whenever you play, it always feels like "Did I forget to do something in the same setup we do every single round?" and if you did, it just makes the game so much harder. But, most of the professional players do that, with a few risky mixups on the setup which help keep the streams/video slightly more entertaining on the new tactic they did, but almost every single time it fails, and they go back to the original tactic which is boring. The next bad thing is the maps, people have talked about this and how it is so cluttered, unfun to play, repetitive, and how awkward the fights are. Exaltedjoss27 made a good video on it titled "The Real Reason Why Valorant Isn't as Fun as CS:GO" which I'd recommend many people should watch if they want to criticize the game and its messy maps. Another thing is the ranked matchmaking, I am not a competitive person so I will be taking other people's words for this, is that it is really easy to get to the highest rank, and how the game is a lot more casual than CS:GO with abilities, the repetitiveness, the slow-paced, spread out gameplay, the map design, the more luck-based gun accuracy, which somewhat ruins the experience, even though it was made for eSports. One of the biggest offenders of the game is the anti-cheat. Honestly, I don't mind a slightly more intrusive anti-cheat as long as it prevents cheating much better, as the new CS:GO anti-cheat system does work somewhat well, with the trust factor feature and scanning for cheat names and other possible software which helps. There is no such feature in the Valorant anti-cheat (Vanguard) that shows that it has caught anything or that there is such thing as a trust factor, but there have been very few cheaters in Valorant encountered, and when it detects the cheaters it stops them, but unfortunately also stopping the entire game. The anti-cheat isn't bad, it's just that many people find it too intrusive, and if you have the anti-cheat installed and Riot gets hacked (which definitely is a low chance but can still happen) your computer as a high chance of being screwed. I don't completely hate Valorant, so I will be giving off some good things of the game which might hook you in to keep the overhyped player base. The jingle when you kill someone is satisfying, which honestly now that I think of it sounds pretty dumb, but it is a lot more satisfying and gives you a good adrenaline rush and rewards the player for getting a kill, which does make the game more casual, but it's still nice. I like how there are characters and that they aren't just nobody, as in the counter strike games, and this is debatable. After all, then the game is more casual because everyone has different things, some are better on specific maps, some are just better than other characters in general, you get it. Another thing I thought good of Valorant was some of the new things they added to the "Search and Destroy" gamemode, like how if you defuse past 50% and cancel out if someone is going to peek and kill you, you can stop and kill them and save some time to defuse the spike (the name for C4 in the game) and possibly even win the round with the saved time, and that it's easier to peek corners with abilities. The game runs well on low-end computers which is also pretty good, not much to say about that though. There isn't much of the game that is good as almost everything is not memorable or it has already been done better, it's just more or less a mediocre bootleg of CS:GO and CS:S combined. It's honestly a decent game if it was still in beta, but Riot just wanted to milk off the current quarantine by fully releasing it to everyone.… Expand

    The Bad - This game has three main issues in my experience that hamper the ability of a casual fan of games to not be able to enjoy this one.
    Slow, this game is so very slow, your movement speed is slow, the animations are slow, the way you are rewarded for playing the game is slow, with few people playing sage permadeath is a thing so it feels like playing a stealth based single player game where you get into a really hard section and have to keep restarting again and again to the point where you just want to sprint in.
    Visually uninteresting if not ugly. There are many times in this game where I can't believe how uninteresting the environment around me is, it truly reminds me of a mobile game. If you want the basics of it imagine TF2 graphics without any of the dynamics vertical nature of it. There are boxes everywhere and it doesn't look like stripped down polished beauty it just looks really boring. Many of the characters are a mix of Overwatch and R6S ripoffs in abilities and just look like Fornite skins.
    Toxicity, like I said this isn't an issue if you have friends to play with, but if you are solo quing and you aren't great at the game you are going to have a rough time, the community is toxic as CS:GO and Overwatch and they will make you feel terrible, so you mute them and play worse because you don't get callouts, so you unmute and get berated.
    This isn't a terrible game and was clearly made with competence but I can safely say that if you aren't willing to put in a massive amount of time, have friends that are just as into it as you, and disregard what you are looking at for gameplay which is slow then I wouldn't suggest this game for you.    … Expand

    I fall asleep watching and playing this game. It's basically CS:GO but more kiddy and with overwatch type abilities. Characters feel so generic and forgettable, map designs are basic as usual, the customization sucks with typical loot crate items which don't even look good, abilities are either too broken or overpowered, graphics look like a mobile game even at ultra settings, etc.

    The good though is the Frame Rate you can get is DANG good and the buy system actually is very forgiving.

    Slow boring matches that take forever to finish, Typical Riot Games with boring games as always. At least it has some appeal but it's mostly forgettable and I'd honestly go back to CSGO. Both games have hackers but one actually looks appealing and it ain't this one. This is a decent team game but that's about it.

    over hyped, game was fun at the start but now its just getting dull. every new update is just tweaks to characters and sometimes map changes, nothing interesting at all. hit reg is weird and ping problems are a thing, game play feels a bit clunky and when you get a a kill it doesn't feel like an award

    Valorant has great potential, but i can't get oversee the huge problems it has and it keeps on pushing. Map design is horrible, some corners are uncounterable and simply unfair. Some agents are stupidly overpowered and can hardly be countered. Some also have to be unlocked for a reason to keep playing the game.     You must always have the Vanguard open if it does not ask you to restart the PC. Unbalanced agents in my opinion, which makes the game long without being able to balance the teams

    The game is relitivly easy to get used to. I was a FN player who wanted something different/ try something new, and Valorant was that. The games problems are these ( OP/ Over Powerd Alts/ Abilitys, In game your allowed to hear people all they way across the map when it should be more limited.     Valorant is a nice first person, hero based, tactical shooter that takes elements from overwatch and CS:Go and it mixes well in my opinion and is fun with a group of friends. sadly I dont have friends that want to play with me so its a bit boring alone. Some guns feel OP and some agents are pretty OP as well, and the community is toxic as hell.     More toxic than CS. Plays like a worse version with shoehorned in Overwatch skills. Much better ways to spend your time.

    Classic 5v5 competitive shooter. Feels kinda casual and like a mix of counter strike and overwatch. It's good for what it wants to be but not groundbreaking. Some bugs and the weird hitboxes can be frustrating. The maps feel balanced although there are other games which do alot better.

I got tired of playing it over and over again, so when Riot announced Valorant I was hopeful that the game would bring something fresh to the e-sports scene. And frankly, I'm not disappointed. It runs smoothly just like an e-esports game should. The idea of replacing grenades with abilities is really cool. Graphics areI'm an experienced CSGO player with 3,5K hours into the game. The feeling of the guns is kinda strange ( I'm not saying it's bad, it might just be that I need to practice more), some abilities are OP as hell, movement feels like you are playing CSGO but in an electric wheelchair, and for now it doesn't make a lot of sense to play if there's no competitive mode. I hope that devs will figure out something fast or the game might die quickly.… Expand

    i think this game started on the wrong foot, having an anti-cheat, the possibility to shoot through walls requires the player to need a killcam in my opinion, also the fact that it is full of bots that do not answer, and, in my opinion, full of cheater too.

    It's good, yet frustrating. The other players are so much better than I am and the game can be toxic because of how much I suck.

    There are also some REALLY young children on voice chat, and I don't think the game is age appropriate.

    The heroes are varied and fun to play and overall I recommend it.

    Valorant is a mixed bag for me. It’s very fun to play with friends don’t get me wrong, but something about it feels empty. The agents, weapons, and the anti-cheat are all great in my opinion. The sheer amount of ways you can figure out to win the round is really interesting and adds a new spin to the tactical FPS shooter genre, which was a much needed coat of paint. But the maps are VERYValorant is a mixed bag for me. It’s very fun to play with friends don’t get me wrong, but something about it feels empty. But the maps are VERY plain and stale. They get old so fast, especially with games that could last up to 21 rounds, and they feel lifeless. You need color, atmosphere, and design to make a great map, but Valorant doesn’t check off any of those boxes. It’s actually kind of pathetic for a developer like Riot to create something so mediocre. Speaking of Riot, why do they have to make their own separate program to play the game on. It’s 2020, either put the damn game on Steam or Epic Games. Also I know this is over now but it was really dumb. The beta. Oh my god I have never seen such an awful way to do a beta. You had to watch twitch streams for ever to get a key. I think it was kind of dumb on a business standpoint because you are deterring people from playing your game. All in all it’s a fun game, but a bland one at that.… Expand

    Good fps game. If you like CSGO,I think you will like it. But it is not a good game for casual gamer. Need more casual mode I think.

    CS go and overwatch mashed together to make this. While it has the best of both worlds combined, hero skills feel unbalanced as some are more impactful than others and the microtransactions are shockingly high priced at a boosted value.

    Valorant has a high-quality and clean release without any problems. The game will definitely please fans of the competitive FPS genre. The eSports potential of the shooter has only become established over time, and the first tournaments are already planned. However, a high entry threshold requires serious skill training. But this only makes the game more interesting.

    Overall, Valorant is a great game to play if you're a fan of first-person shooter strategy games. But it is also something that someone without experience with games like CS:GO can enjoy and pick up quickly. The Agents are, for the most part, balanced, and the planned addition of more should keep the game fresh. The overall style doesn't really land and the sound design needs to be fixed.
