    Being a UO player; our guild of friends, family and UO players from all over the world was looking eagerly toward Kingdom Reborn until it went live and we were so hugely dissapointed we started looking for a better game. We found it. It's a shame that the game designers for UO still live in ivory towers and dont seem to make the needed changes until other games force them to do so in order to try and stay competitive.     The new Kingdom Reborn client is simply a metamorphosis of Ultima. I've been playing UO since 1998. I can tell you, I was not thrilled with the 3-D client which was first released, but these new, updated graphics are pleasant to the eye. I don't believe that UO has lost it's roots with Kingdom Reborn. Bugs will need to be sorted out of course, as with any new piece of software.

    I have played UO for 5 years now, and what matters most is gameplay. There is no better game out there, and trust me I play all the new ones (even WoW) and I dont enjoy them nearly as much. Just give it time, people will accept the new graphics as well as everything eles, theres a reson why the games been alive for 10 years, Its incredibly good.

    Just plain awful. The upgrades are completely marginal. It still plays, looks, and sounds horrible. Does Mythic actually think this will attract new subscribers?

    1) Mythic didn't make UO so don't blame them for the core mechanics of the game 2) the updated graphics have charm, but admittedly not to everyones tastes 3) its a trip down memory lane and the forefather of all modern mmorpgs

    (Score 6 for Kingdom Reborn, 10 for pre-Age Of Shadows UO) Ultima Online is one of the greatest MMO's out there with a truly epic history, great great gameplay and the prestige of being the game so many other MMO's copied from. And yet ever since Richard Garriot sold Origin to EA, its developers have slowly corroded this game to the point where noone will ever make a game like (Score 6 for Kingdom Reborn, 10 for pre-Age Of Shadows UO) Ultima Online is one of the greatest MMO's out there with a truly epic history, great great gameplay and the prestige of being the game so many other MMO's copied from. And yet ever since Richard Garriot sold Origin to EA, its developers have slowly corroded this game to the point where noone will ever make a game like it again. Bugs have been left in UO for *years*, large parts of it are still unfinished and the official graphics suck - even though fans have offered up better graphics since Age Of Shadows in 2004. Stick with the old 2D client, folks.… Expand

    A completely underwhelming improvement to the core game. While the interface tweaks are nice, the game still plays and looks like a relic. All the developers have managed to do is make a 10 year old game look 9 years old. I cannot see Kingdom Reborn attracting any new players to the franchise. Hopefully the abysmal performance of this expansion will motivate Mythic to make a proper, 3d A completely underwhelming improvement to the core game.
