    I wouldn't really consider this a 'game', but it was fun to mess around with! The problem I had was the point of playing. It's relaxing, sure, but is there really much to do? Not really. Just build things. There's no money, resources, other land, or even npcs. Even ~30 achievements that one could hunt would go a long way. But in the state this product is now, I couldn't have fun with it for more than an hour or so. That being said, it's a neat little package. I returned it, because I don't see myself coming back without a lot more content, but as for you? Try it out! Mess with it for an hour, and after that you'll know whether to keep it or return it.     This is really special. It isn't a game yet, more a toy. You build beautiful towns effortlessly. The interface is very simple but the results from click to build or right click to delete are amazing. I have worked out a few ways to create certain structures but Im learning all the time.

    This isn't really a game how most would think of one - me included, honestly, until I played around in Townscaper. So thanks for broadening my horizons, lol.

    If you remember it fondly, you'll most likely enjoy Townscaper. If you remember it as something boring you were forced to do because you couldn't go play outside or watch tv / play videogames, you'll probably want to steer clear. However, if you have a game pass, I'd recommend you give it a try while it's on there anyways. It's only some 150MB, so will be downloaded real quick, and perhaps it'll amuse you for a few minutes.    … Expand

    This is a simple island builder but with enough creativity, the possibilities are infinite. The result is always nice because of building system and the good looking design.
    Simple but effective.

    Townscaper is less a game and more of a very, very small sandbox. The first few clicks are satisfying but if you make the mistake of wondering what else the game has in store you'll be disappointed. You could call it simple or barebones or minimalist but I think the best descriptor is 'one-note'. If you'd like to play a piano with only one single ivory key, here is that piano.

    Since this game is an Early Acess title my review might change over time, this review is more relevant during the build on which the game is being reviewed. And since the game is not yet complete I won't be attributing any scores besides the final one.

    Visuals -
    Townscaper is a beautiful and simplistic game, without tweaking any settings the game is already perfect for taking screenshots and that aspect is further improved with the latest build which added new times of the day and different lightings. So if you like the idea of showing your town to others, it is perfect for you.

    Gameplay -
    The gameplay is really simple, you will only be using your mouse to play the game. The game is still very simple and early stages, the only thing that you can do is build your town which is not necessarily bad... But I would like to see more features added to the game such as a population or stuff to make your town look more lively.

    My thoughts -
    I don't think this game is for everyone, but if you are a creative person and love to build your worlds just like myself, I believe you would be able to get enjoyment out of this game. Furthermore, I would like to thank the creator Oskar Stålberg for giving us this project.    … Expand

    Отличная игра на случай, если не знаешь во что поиграть. Нет цели и никаких, абсолютно никаких проблем. Просто ставь домики как тебе удобно и меняй время суток.

    A sweet city building game with interesting, relaxing, simple mechanics. The game leaves you alone with your imagination. You can design cities as you wish and spend time with a different art design.

    Townscaper exists in that special chill vibe genre that includes games like digital coloring books and virtual bubble wrap, but it also nudges gently up against city builders as well, only without any of the complications or stress. It makes you feel like a creative, relaxed time traveler, bringing into existence a peaceful, little perfect town out in the middle of a perfectly calm sea. Townscaper doesn’t try to do a lot of things, instead it does one thing very, very well.

    Townscaper is the perfect game if you’re looking for a way to relax and unwind while flexing your creative muscles. The mechanics may be limited, but the game itself is absolutely limitless. Townscaper is like a nice warm batch of cookies from grandma, and I can already tell I will be returning quite often to the comforts I found while playing.

    Townscaper is minimalist in every sense of the word — minimalist gameplay, minimalist UI, minimalist sound — but the sheer amount of potential hidden within this title defies its style. If you’re looking for a new obsession or a nice little title to play during lunch breaks or just before bed, Townscaper is the soothing sandbox town-builder that will do the trick. The town-building aspect may be instantaneous, but you’ll soon learn you spend an awful lot of time discovering all the little signs of life that spring up along the way.
