    After about 100 hours in this game, I'm looking forward for at least next 200. It's a great, smart fun, based on interactions with real players. It has a great community so far and it's really demanding sometimes. And it's so realistic, like in the real life. Even if you are the smartest one, you're gonna lose as hell, when your companions are total idiots.

    The best parts of Town of Salem come when you are just interacting with other players through dialog. Blend your morals and stomp on them a couple of times because you’re going to have to lie, cheat and kill if you want to win. It’s a test of your charisma and with to see if you can convince a side (or both sides) of a lie so you can get away with creeping around people’s houses at night.

    Overall this game is amazing. It's gameplay is not comparable to any other games because of its uniqueness and they keep generating new content. This is probably the best game where you don't even have to spend a single penny to become one of the best. Most people complain about the community, but I barley ever see (or at least notice) any people using multiple accounts or using Skype.Overall this game is amazing.     This game is completely unbalanced, the biggest problem is that there are no consequences for people who leave at the beginning of the game. There are people screaming nazi paroles and nothing happens with them. Gamethrower face no consequences and the game gets worse with every patch.

The chance of you finding a "Skyper" is at least 1/5 games. Games usually last 15 minutes. 15 minutes of entertainment. People do like to screw around with the random lynching, but you can report them, and theTown of Salem is a extremely good game. The community is broken, but other than that that, it is fabulous!     The classic game is very much the same as Mafia wherein a small number of “Mafia” members must trick, lie and kill in cooperation against ‘townspeople’ who do not know each others identities.

    Each player is randomly given a role card with a specific goal and ability that will aid them in their objective.     Due to the random nature of the roles and the popularity of this game, each Town of Salem game is different. You may run into an especially vicious team of mafia or you may have a really cooperative town that works cohesively together against the evil doers.

    I really love this game because of its simple nature and the camaraderie you form with people on your team. Being the Mafia is sadistically fun and requires a lot of deception and well timed remarks from you and your teammates to trick others into believing your innocence.

    Graphics are simple but they do their job. The one thing that could be improved on is the lag. The lag is ridiculous sometimes and really ruins the atmosphere of the game. Sometimes the graphics don’t even work although you can technically still play without it. I am told that the steam version is much better but that costs 5$ and for the average casual player, probably isn’t work the investment.

    That being said, a fantastic game and one that I highly recommend groups of friends to play together. Beware, this game tests the mettle of your friendship.    … Expand

    I've played over 500 games of Town Of Salem and it's a great game. Games don't take too long, aren't that serious, and are quite fun. It's easy to get started so I invite all my friend to play with me. Too much fun for something that's free. Burn down the town!

It's a little tricky at first, but after a few rounds, you'll start to fall in love with the roles... Oh yeah! That's another thing! Due to all the "roles," you statistically play 33 consecutive rounds totally differently. From being a Jester trickingIt's an amazing game that requires tons of strategy and... My favorite part... Lying! The game is all about lies, alliances, and deception. It's a little tricky at first, but after a few rounds, you'll start to fall in love with the roles... Oh yeah! That's another thing! Due to all the "roles," you statistically play 33 consecutive rounds totally differently. From being a Jester tricking people into killing you, a Werewolf rampaging, only to be taken down by the Veteran. My personal favorite role is the Serial Killer though. ;) The nice thing is that it's very age-friendly though, with a built-in OPTIONAL chat filter that changes profanity to silly words like "fopdoodle" and "flummery." This is great for people like me who record this gameplay for YouTube. It saves me a lot of editing time to not have to edit out chats for my young audience. Plus, there's absolutely NO gory blood or graphics. At most, some cute cartoon characters with x's for eyes lying on the ground. Overall, favorite game EVER.… Expand

    This game has me feeling all types of ways - unfortunately, recent events have made my experience very unpleasant. This is due to the servers being down. Now, i use this game as a form of escapism where i can kill people and get away with it. However, now i will have to resort to other means and measures that others wouldn't necessarily deem sane.

    Music is very jammable, a mamma mia of a piece, I haven't played the game yet because my friends aren't letting me get on but I'm just sitting here listening to the music. Very good game, would recommend to anyone with a taste of music.

When I see multiple accounts repeating word for word the exact same thing in the chat area, I just give up.     It's a fantastic game, trust me, it is. But the community is the thing that weighs it down. The community is full of trolls, "skypers", and random lynchers. This makes the game a lot less fair and a lot less fun. Although, if you can find a server without all these said people, kudos to you! But I just believe there needs to be something down to stop these people.

    Extremely awesome, a game that involves mandatory strategical thinking and reasoning in order to survive in this Town of Salem! The community can get quite competitive though, so be warned.

    A solid 9/10. Certain roles are unbalanced, and some are definitely better than others, but the game usually runs great without bugs, and is a joy to play during a great game.

    Every time I play is a different challenge! It's super engaging, requires teamwork and to be quick with your wits. The community is really great. I think overall this is a really good game!

Some people abuse their responsibilities, but with the trial system and helpful moderators, everything can remain balanced. The game itself makes everyone feel like they have a part to play, and there's never a dull moment in the game, until you die, but ignore that. Overall, it's an amazing game.… Expand

    This game is pretty good, and of course it would be as the real life game it is based on (Mafia/Werewolves) is awesome and tons of fun to play with friends. However, there are two things dragging the game down.

    The first is the community. Like many other free to play games out there, this game is riddled with cheaters and people trying to ruin the game for others.     The first is the community. Like many other free to play games out there, this game is riddled with cheaters and people trying to ruin the game for others. Many people are on Skype together and intentionally assist a team other than their own. Furthermore, as there is no punishment whatsoever for leaving the game, many people will just outright leave at the start of the game if they don't get a role they like, causing the teams to be left imbalanced.

    The biggest issue however would be the developers of this game. They are stubborn and they do not seem to care about player feedback - they have their own vision of the game and that's that. Furthermore, many of the decisions they've taken are questionable at best. Here are some examples of what I mean:

    One of the most popular game modes is the ranked setup of 8 town, 3 mafia, 3 neutrals and an any. No matter how often people request that this game mode become available in non-ranked, so we can play it with friends, the developers refuse to add it. Instead, they have added "fun" random game modes like "Vigilantics" and "All Any", basically making the game really frustrating for anyone who wants to have balanced teams.

    Many roles are imbalanced. It's not a huge deal, but they recently added the Vampire role, which is probably the most underpowered role in the game. It would be okay if it was just a lower probability to win, but vampires also have very high grief-potential ability in turning people to their team if they're about to lose, essentially denying someone of the victory. Just what were they thinking? They should have focused on fixing the other imbalanced roles before adding new, pointless roles.

    Lastly, their hypocrisy. There's a profanity filter in the game that anyone can turn on if they get offended by swear words - and yet there's still an option to report people for using swear words. Not only that, but some particular swear words will get completely filtered - the game will warn you that you will get banned if you post these particular words and delete your message, despite the fact that there's a freaking profanity filter. What the hell? Even if this game wants to cater to teens and children for whatever reason, the profanity filter should be adequate.

    The only reason why I bothered making an account here to write this review is because the social media guy on Twitter wants us to shill this game, in order to give it a higher rating than Fallout. Tell you what, how about you tell your friends at Blank Media Games to step their stuff up and focus on making this game one that's actually good, and stop comparing it to actual quality products?    … Expand

    This game could have been great but the massive skill difference between random players and Skypers ruined it. If you're looking for a similar experience, check out some older W3 maps or the newer Starcraft 2 ports.

    Incredibly fun, even after thousands of games. There really is no free game on the internet like it. It has all of the fun of a party game and all the weirdness of an online chatroom.     The chances of Town winning over Mafia are like 70%. Especially on the normal gamemode, You really have to play Ranked. But on Ranked people are way smarter so it still doesn't make that of a difference.     This is a great game but the community is broken... I may keeping playing but I will likely switch to Throne of Lies soon. The game itself is.... okay, but it's just imbalanced and toxic. I feel it could be done better.

    First of all, the game ISN'T balanced. It isn't supposed to be. Your not SUPPOSED to win as Werewolf or Witch or Executioner or something like that. It is supposed to fun to deceive the Town when you are that role. I will reference another review, Doutzen said that "Even if you are the smartest one, you're gonna lose as hell, when your companions are total idiots." I hope this review pushed you to try out the game. It is completely free and AWESOME. There are many modes, such as All Any or Custom. If you are more serious, maybe try Ranked Practice or just Ranked. It's much more easier to win, as people are more at your skill level. Also, people are a lot more serious. Although there are many strategies, try at least five games yourself to see if you can find any.… Expand

    -my personal information was leaked
    -bots in every game -got banned for no reason ( not permanent) -the game got switched to paid because they couldn't find a fix to the bots which decreased the player count ( even though i started playing with the paid version this is still bad) -the DLC    I LOVE THIS GAME, but because of the latest things that has happened to it, i have to give it a 3

The game has over 9-10 modes they are all unique in their own way, classic is simple and gives you what you need to get started, there is even ranked match’s and custom matches with full control over the roles. The presentation is great and the soundtrack is surprisingly well made and fits very well, but I wish if the friend code system would last forever, I mean playing with friends is beyond fun seriously. Town Of Salem is an amazing game with its many roles and groups to its complex ways to claim the victory flag, and the satisfying customization system makes all the coins you collected worth the while, this game is especially fun with friends so I highly recommend it.
