    **** game, another disgrace to the Total War series. Same game copy/pasted into new cool looking unit. And that's it. Nothing else is good or "strategic" about this game.

    Some monsters are overpowered and can destroy everything, some monsters in other factions are expensive but weak. Did I mention you get 4 factions only? Can't wait for DLCs with 1 new faction for 15-20$. But    **** game, another disgrace to the Total War series. Same game copy/pasted into new cool looking unit. And that's it.     But fangays of this abomination will say that previous games were bad for giving 3 factions with new mechanics and scripts while they soak up this garbage.

    There is still no actual combat or strategy, just send units into other units, keep your chariots moving, cast spells that make no sense and are almost the same as the previous game.    … Expand

    Yes, it's pricy. No doubt about that, but if you judge hours of fun per buck it's absolutely up there - doubly so if you even slightly enjoy Warhammer lore. Easy recommendation on that one.

    Diversity of units never found in other total war games. Nice graphics. Decent performance on a good PC. Can't wait for the 3rd.

    1800 hours on steam.

    the sandbox gameplay and the constand updates make this a gread game. that can be played endlessly. just 1 campaign can take up to 100 hours. and if you start the same campiagn agian you wil stil have a differend expirians

    Absolutely amazing game! I've spent many hours (...days) enjoying myself playing this awesome game! ( also great modding community!). It's a must have if you enjoy fantasy RTS!

    The game is a really high quality total war game and delivers above and beyond others in the series.
    It's visually stunning, the sound is excellent and the combat mechanics feel very well adjusted. The negatives are: 1.sometimes the agents on the campaign map bug out and tpose across the map, which really pulls you out of it.

    3. Higher difficulties don't mean more complex behaviour from the A.I. just that the A.I.'s units are buffed with additional damage leadership defence etc. These negatives are nowhere near enough to bring the game down from is excellent level. There is a lot of DLC but it isn't necessary to buy all of it, you can pick and choose what appeal to you or just play the base game and you will not be barred from major mechanics or updates. Best to also own tww1 so you have access to the massive mortal empires campaign.

    While the sequel does not necessarily break any new ground for the previous installment in terms of gameplay, it does refine it and make it even better. The new races are far more diverse in aesthetics and playstyle then those of the original game, allowing for more varied playstyles and replayability.

    but the campaign is simplistic and it feels more a casual total war game

    My favorite Total War game to date. Magic, monsters, dragons, it's got it all. You will certainly get your money's worth with all the content available. Playing coop is a lot of fun, and mechanics are straight forward but with great depth. It has many RPG elements, with experience, skill points, gear, followers, traits gained, etc.

    If you like Strategy, tactics, or RPG's, this is the    My favorite Total War game to date. Magic, monsters, dragons, it's got it all.     Great game, just like the first installment. Beautiful graphics, excellent rpg elements and character customization, factions all feel unique and don't seem to be copy pastes from the previous title with new skins. My only complaint is that the AI doesn't really present any challenge for anyone familiar with the total war franchise on lower difficulties, and on harder difficulties the AIGreat game, just like the first installment.     However the game is still incredibly fun with a strategic campaign and intense tactical battles. On it's own I would say this game is definitely worth it for the vortex campaign (which is more than you will ever need) but if you happen to already own Total War: WARHAMMER then you get the added benefit of the Mortal Empires Campaign which simply just combines the maps of the two games in an epic sandbox mashup, although not for the faint of heart with it's insanely long end turn phase and lack of narrative it is a great bonus for owning both titles and is easily something you could pour hundreds if not thousands of hours into.

    If you buy this and do not already own WARHAMMER 1 and are thinking of getting it just for Mortal Empires I would wait until it's on sale as I don't think it's worth paying full price just for that but even as little as %20 off and I would say go for it.    … Expand

    Very fresh and original Total War game. Introduction of magic, big monsters, epic lords, different races make this game really good. Playing with different race is just like playing different game. I almost lost interest in historical Total War titles because of Warhammer, because they are not as complex and they dont have so much content.

    i skipped 'Total war: warhammer I', I thought that i wouldn't enjoy a total war based on fiction. Boy was i wrong, this game sure is the best total war up until this day.

    An amazing strategy game with a wide array of mods, great visuals and the magic offers a system that total war was lacking before. There is great variety in the factions. My only problem is the lack of challenge end game.

Even If you are not a fan of Warhammer fantasy and the lore you are in for an incredible battle simulator as well as a masterful grand campaign experience. The world is rich and full. This was a game that could have been poorly done but was done beautifully. If you are a warhammer fan Let me say nothing encases the bloodyWarhammer 2 Is a Incredible time for any who loves Fantasy battles. Even If you are not a fan of Warhammer fantasy and the lore you are in for an incredible battle simulator as well as a masterful grand campaign experience. The world is rich and full. This was a game that could have been poorly done but was done beautifully. If you are a warhammer fan Let me say nothing encases the bloody grim dark warfare like this engine. Its simply fun to just watch the battles pressing K during battle and seeing things play out. I'm about 800 hours in with mods, there are a few essential mods but even the base game is worthy of praise. Its A complete shame this game has not been put up for best RTS of all time because put simply it is. I grew up with RTS games and no game has come close to fulfilling my dreams of creating stories in a fantasy world like Total war warhammer has. Warcraft has always been the standard of fantasy RTS but Warhammer 2 blows anything blizzard has made RTS wise out of the water. Look no further than this game if you ever felt sad you couldn't play out the epic lord of the rings movies battles. These battles look just as good and are in my opinion much cooler lore wise.… Expand

Oh, and you need to own the first game to have access to a lot of what the second game has to offer... So two full price games plus all of the DLC? You're looking at well over $200.     I love total war but I had always wanted more faction variety, both in playstyle and mechanics. Warhammer 2 does this and does it much better than Warhammer 1. The factions all play so differently, that each faction and in some cases even lords of the same faction feel fresh on each playthrough.

    I enjoyed Warhammer 1 but this one really hit a home run, 100s of hours of fun to be had and    I love total war but I had always wanted more faction variety, both in playstyle and mechanics. World is huge with many different races, factions, weapons from shield and sword to huge dragons or "egyptian" sphinxs. Gamaplay is similiar to other total war games, ale with quite good magic, monsters and of course artillery.

Two big campaigns: One big with the 6 races of the Total War    One of the greatest strategy games ever.

    15 races - which the game-play for each differs widely.

    Two big campaigns:
    One big with the 6 races of the Total War Warhammer 2 and 2 races from Total War Warhammer.
    Second campaign with bigger map, much longer game play, and all the races - but you will need both Total War Warhammer to play it.
    In each campaign every race have different mechanisms that have big effect on the gameplay.
    Also there are different mechanisms between the campaigns that have big effect the gameplay.

    Disadvantages:
    * It is not easy to learn this game if you not play any Total War game before.
    * This is not cheap game, has a lot of DLCs, and to have it in its complete form, you need both Total War Warhammer and Total War Warhammer 2 (for the mortal empire campaign and some of the races).But even the basic game, without DLCs, is amazing.    … Expand

    In short, Total War: Warhammer II offers plenty of content for fans of strategy games, Warhammer and Total Warhammer fans, and new starters to the genre. It is easily one of the genre's finest, standing alongside X-Com 2 as one of the best PC games of the last few years.

    An innovative, original structure built on the solid foundations of the first game has exceedingly succeeded. Who was afraid that at second Warhammer developers will lose their breath, was terribly mistaken. [Issue#279]

    As weird as some the diplomacy and other mechanics can be, it’s an impressive title with a ton of depth to get stuck into. Now, I’d better get back to my current mission in progress — those enemy armies won’t eat themselves, after all.
