Sep 21, 2012Fast paced, builds, gear, hell my first item drop was an upgrade. Fast leveling, amazing run speed and skills. About a billion times more fun and entertaining than any other arpg. Start on veteran! Far more challenging

Sep 21, 2012Best ARPG in years, no doubt about it ! The game is fast, smooth an very fun to play. It has all the classic elements that Diablo set in stone and a lot more. Plenty of character customisation. Great loot diversity. Fast paced action. Big and engaging world. True randomised levels and so on and all of this just for
20 bucks. There's really no reason not to try it. You won't regret it ! -

Sep 22, 201220 dollars for a game that will provide hundreds of hours of fun. Sounds like a good deal to me. They took everything that was great in D2 and Torchlight and added to it. If only D3 would have done this. Great job Runic! ignore other reviews saying "this game is too easy." I've been playing on ELITE with a berserker and it is very hard.
-
Sep 24, 2012This is an amazing game. It is astounding how talented the Runic Games team is. Even without Blizzards money they managed to create such a great game. I can not fault it in any way. I am not saying it is the perfect game, it's just so quite and solid as far as gameplay goes that you forget to look for flaws. I will be giving this game a 10 out of 10. It deserves it.

Sep 21, 2012This game is fabolous. Perfect hack&slash arpg. Not really really open world like skyrim but it is very good compared to TL and definetely ten times better than diablo 3. I think it is a killer!
@Rainfall: Beta was a beta, nothing is lost and the game does not crash for me. No crash after already 10 hours gameplay. -

Sep 21, 2012Just awesome. I do not know how to express my satisfaction. It was first time in a LONG time that when i play a game my eyebrows go SO HIGH! I was surprised in a good way and every part so far is just fantastic.
-
Sep 21, 2012One of the games you can't really comment on ... Why? Everything about Torchlight II is great, so no need to name things. With modding and coop added, it will be fun for years to come. And I mean real fun, not the mindless utterly boring paradoxical linear grind like in D3.
-
Sep 21, 2012Having played this game for a while now, I'm impressed with the game's improvements over its predecessor. Really rich environments, content and quests. The classes seem very well thought as well, I'm not sure about balance yet. The cutscenes are awful, but this does not affect my game experience.
-
Sep 21, 2012This is the ARPG of 2012. Torchlight 2 has vastly improved over everything that was in Torchlight 1, With the mod tools, online and offline play, and an evolving world, the game is begging to be replayed over and over again. For $20, you cannot find a better ARPG.
-
Sep 27, 2012It's a sequel, but it is a proper sequel. More characters, more animals, more of an open world, more stats, more abilities... more more more. There is nothing really new or inventive about the game, it is just a great sequel for Torchlight. If you liked Torchlight you will like this.

Sep 21, 2012Is it better than Diablo 3? Yes. Is it cheaper than Diablo 3? Yes. Do you get more for your money than Diablo 3? Yes. The art style is subject to taste and the story is probably even less coherent than Diablo 3, but lets be honest, nobody really plays games like this for it's story. It's a hack 'n slash isometric game and the best one released so far this year.

Sep 24, 2012This is exactly what Diablo III should have been. It's a hundred times better and anyone who says otherwise has obviously never played the game - twenty dollars, full modding support, offline play, a legitimate class system, and you actually get to choose your skills. That alone should be enough to buy this game.

Nov 7, 2012Fantastische game. Klasse spel!!

Oct 30, 2012This game is the true Diablo II successor that is all there is to it, made by the same guys who led Diablo II, the game is fun with a lot of replayability is only $20, I don't regret buying Diablo III but I am more hooked and had more fun with this game
-
Oct 8, 2012If you don't know what to do, i tell you, PLAY THIS GAME, it is pretty awesome, the graphics, the characters, the action, the music, everything is AWESOME, just AWESOME, i made a "OutLander" and God, i really want to play this all the day, i really really really enjoy this game. Play It, You'll Love IT!
-
Oct 13, 2012Damn, get this, for $19 its the best duckets you will ever spend... D3 for $60 ...hehe RIP!! If you are a big fan of titan quest and any Diablo title, torchlight 2 will blow you away....period!

Nov 18, 2012If you're curious about the negative rating on here - given before anybody but the lucky press (who have all had nothing but positive things to say) - it's called 'Blizzard Buyer's Remorse'. Silly rabbit, you can own both games. One doesn't have to be bad for you to feed good. Anyway, if you like aRPG's, there's no need to convince you with a long blob of text. This game will confid

Sep 22, 2012I own both D3 and TL2 and having played both exstensively I can tell you hands down TL2 is easily the better game here. My only real gripe is the graphics are meh and D3 looks 10X better BUT the gameplay is just so much more fun in TL2 i am able to overlook the dated graphics and horrible initial character customization. This truly is what D3 should have been.

Oct 7, 2012Very enjoyable. I've not tried playing online yet, but I am really enjoying single player. My only complaint is that higher difficulty levels don't up the AI factor, instead just increase enemy stats and reduce your own level, essentially forcing players to not only do all side-quests, but reach a point of being underleveled and needing to farm experience.
-
Jan 27, 2013Diablo 3 done right. Very customization skill tree and equipment that actually make the game enjoyable. It is undoubtedly worth the low price it is going for.

Sep 3, 2013A truly impressive title on it's own merits not to mention the incredibly low price this is definitely one for lovers of Diablo style gameplay. In all honesty however, I enjoyed Torchlight II a great deal more than the Blizzard title(s) and was taken aback by the pace, graphics, gameplay mechanics and replayability. This is what Diablo 3 should have been. Excellent work Runic Games.

Mar 5, 2014I actually enjoyed this more than Diablo III, even though TL II might seem like that game's younger sibling (especially because it is full of references to it). Nevertheless, the game offers great and detailed graphics, fast-paced action gameplay and a lot of enticing loot to collect. Add to that the game's modability and you've got yourself some long-lasting fun on your hands.
-
Mar 20, 2014A very nice RPG. The community also made the mods so great, I can't stop playing every night. The music and sfx are good! nice gameplay and long story. the quests are great and it took me so long to finish on hardcore!
-
Dec 10, 2014This is what Diablo 3 should have been. It's brilliant and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the ARPG genre. Lots of innovative additions to the format, beautiful locations, wonderful classes with proper customisation and random levels - what more could you possibly want?
Jimbo Rating: 10/10 -

Torchlight 1 and 2 are my favorite RPG games.
-Classes
-Character Customization
-Quests
-A pet to choose at the beginning (WOW)
-Great weapons
-Open world with endless gameplay and fighting -
Jan 21, 2017best rpg ever
positive
+ loot feels better and cooler then diablo
+ sweet graphics
+ cool enemies
+ combat
negative
- story is not as good as diablo 3
but without the story this is the best rpg ever -
Mar 24, 2018Great hack and slash fun. If you like games like Diablo you will love this. If you want a deep epic story and don't like grinding through enemies you should avoid this. Also, there is fishing!
-
Oct 21, 2019I absolutely loved the previous game and looked forward to the next iteration with great anticipation and it failed to disappoint. To quote Cartman, this was "hellafun." TL1 was close to perfect and they improved it here. This is what all gaming should be: addictive, inspired and sublime.

Jun 23, 2020Much like Diablo 2 did, second Torchlight goes for more, bigger, better and... it works! Resulting in a game with a lot more variety, there is a lot to hack and slash here and seems like every aspect of the game has been refined, even if just slightly. Also, there is an alpaca pet. I really think this is very important to mention.

Aug 24, 2020A great game with a lot of mods to experiment with. Can provide easily hundreds of hours of fun. No online only / economy BS like Path of Exile. Suprising depth, although strange scaling and character development systems. Playing this in 2020 and still holds up great. Id say if you like Titan quest / Path of Exile / Diablo 2 etc.. you will love this.
-
Dec 13, 2020Good sequel to fun Torchlight I, that builds on it's predecessor. Just like in the previous game, I like pet's that make inventory management a whole less of a hassle. The story is bacic, almost non-existing but that's a norm for this type of games.
-
Jan 5, 2021The best RPG game I've ever had the opportunity to play. Great classes, missions, skills, opponents and characters. The option to play online makes the difference and the addition of mods helps to make the game more flexible.
-
Jan 26, 2013a really fun game, i got tired of the combat quick, but the weapons armor and enchantments always keep you intrigued. i enjoy it played 6 hours so far and am hoping to finish the game soon. the graphics are cartoony and colorful. fun game worth getting.

Sep 26, 2014For me this Game is a 9/10 why ? Cause it has nearly EVERYTHING.
A storyline that keeps you playing, Itemization that is easy and appealing and the Game is cheap!
Well made classes even invite you to play through the Game again.
A cheap bargain. -

Dec 14, 2012There is something therapeutic about mass killing enemies with a Flame Hammer. :) The only things I wished this game had are classic characters like the barbarian or paladin. You have have your Berserker which is a werewolf like class and your engineer which looks like a human engineer from WoW. That is why I give this an 8 instead of a 10. Great game but needs more classes or different ones.

May 3, 2013暗黑2的干儿子,流畅的游戏体验,不说其它,仅凭以下两点足以成为最佳的打怪刷宝游戏:1. 完美支持Steam Workshop。2.

Feb 8, 2013Before I started playing it, I said this game is over-rated and there is no way it is better than his greatest competitor- diablo 3. BUT, i bought it with an extremely low price and enjoyed it. The killing, the multiplayer, the loot system, the animals, the monsters were amazing. Unfortunately, the story sucks and there is no voice acting.
This game is a real catch for having fun -

Mar 6, 2013The game plays awesome, it does what the first one but better.
I played it about 80 hours (twice the time that i played Diablo 3).
The lack of history didn't bother me at all cause the game is great. -
Feb 16, 2016I'm big on all kinds of rpg games but this is one of the few where I actually levelled all the way up to Lv.100. I am still not fully done with this game. That alone speaks volumes.

PC Master (Greece)Feb 6, 2013Torchlight 2 offers everything an action RPG fan wants: a huge campaign, variety of enemies, a rich system of quality loot, well-balanced and fresh classes with different build options, care-free and fun multiplayer modes. [November 2012]
-
Dec 13, 2012Sure, it might not reinvent the wheel as built by Diablo II over a decade ago, but Runic deserves props for perfectly recreating the formula. Many others have tried to bring their own take on Diablo to the market-and failed. Runic didn't, which makes Torchlight II an essential purchase for anyone who loves to crawl through dungeons while scoring phat loot.
-
Games Master UKNov 25, 2012A slick action RPG with wit and charm, this is a genuine alternative to Diablo III. [Christmas 2012, p.93]
