Tomb Raider 2 is undoubtedly the best old game of the Tomb Raider franchise done. Tomb Raider 2 got the middle ground: maintained the essence of the first game with improvements in graphics and gameplay, but without being confused, "more of the same" and unnecessarily difficult as the third game. In short, Tomb Raider 2 bordered on perfection. While Tomb 1 is visually dark and claustrophobic, the phases of Tomb 2 are more colorful, biggest and very memorable. The four phases of the wreck of Maria Doria are by far my favorite phases of all Tomb Raider serie, for its immersive atmosphere, symbolically and literally. Novice players of this new generation will certainly face major difficulties with the game controls, which are well archaic. No movement is automatic or fluid: from one platform to another, all the leaps and Lara moves must be calculated accurately by the player himself; otherwise it's instant death. The good news is what the PC version is possible to save the game any time you want. Expand

A decent game. It has action, adventure, and suspense. Story is good, and entertaining. I encourage you to see how you like it for yourself. That is if you think it will interest you.

This game to me is one of the best examples of a sequel taking a the original and making it far better. The story is better. The graphics are far better. The soundtrack is great. And the controls feels tighter and the games levels are well designed. The game like the original still has not aged well though.

Первый TR в который удалось поиграть дома на ПК, до этого первую часть доводилось только лицезреть в компьютерных клубах, TR2 первая любовь навсегда.

As far as I’m concerned Tomb Raider 2 is timeless and truly brilliant… Many regard this as their favourite of the entire Tomb Raider franchise and it certainly is one of the best… Okay it’s an old game made of square and triangle blocks and the textures are questionable at best, but despite its age, it still makes an absolute brilliant play and provides countless hours of fun! I had to plug in a controller but this is still my favourite tomb raider and one of my favourite adventure games. This game has it all and the platforming is a riot.

This hasn't aged particularly well (mainly due to the clunky controls) but at the time I remember really being blown away by the graphics and extra guns on offer! The story kept you engaged throughout and the level design is up there with some of the best in Tomb Raider. One of the best Tomb raiders out there in my opinion.

First game, but with bigger and better everything. Better gameplay, better graphics, more guns, better story. Great, but sometimes it was too cryptic.

One of the best Tomb Raider games. I could totally loose myself in Venice and really wanted to visit that place. The (training) mansion really felt like a home at the time. Spend so many hours in this game I even got bed sheets of Lara Croft IRL :)

Damn this was the longest linear adventure game I had played in a long while. Along with the Golden Mask expansion it took me 22 hours to finish it. Surprisingly, I didn't get bored with it and played all the way through the end. It was very long, but relaxing, fun and nostalgia inducing. I took my time with it and savoured every little piece of puzzle.

The only beef I have with it is

The only beef I have with it is that it includes way too much shooting. After a while getting rid of enemies felt more like a chore I had to do to get back to the actual game than exciting action.

A great continuation of a great previous part. By and large, the game did not bring anything new to the series. But the new story is as good as it was in previous game, and in some moments even much more interesting.

Out of the classic tomb raider games, this is my personal favorite. The story and the graphics are about as you would expect for a 90s game. The controls on the pc are clunky and they have a learning curve. Thankfully there is auto-aim so it is not that bad. The maps are a bit more linear compared to the original which is a good thing. Lets be honest this game is boring. The Devs don´t achieve a target to tell the complete & interesting story which will attract you & capture your mind for a couple of weeks. There are some great levels first one, offshore platform prison, diving to a sunken ship. Anyway try to look what amount of time you ought to spent in equal graphic scenery. Just calculate amount of levels at Venice, at unfurnised mansion, at old theatre, at sunken ship. They looks the same & will make you fell boring easily. This Devs faults & gameplay protraction seems to be unsensable. It isn´t exciting adventure anymore. What a problem to tell some facts about mansion, info about sunk ship? Even graphic looks disgusting. Look, there are quite big amount of atmosferic games with simple graphic FEZ for example. There you get emotions throught graphic & sound. At this game you don´t. It is boring to fight with hundreds of security at undetailed locations without any major sence. This make this game looks like simple shooter instead of adventure. Expand

The first and only Tomb Raider game I've played in my life. I still have the original CD that came in a magazine called: "CD Expert". I never finished the game, I was too young and not mature enough to understand things and the mechanics behind the games. But because it was one of the first games I played on PC, it marked my childhood.

I disagree with the common notion here.
    I always loved TR.
But in TR II is a disapointment to me, more so having replayed it recently. It only has 2 levels that are really cool, and those are the first two levels. That alone tells you something about it's development. You had the venice level as a demo, got mindblown, and the game Sold. Too bad the rest of the stages are boring, ugly,

Too bad the rest of the stages are boring, ugly, some of them downright annoying.
That is a shame because the beginning of the game is so promising.
In my opinion, TRIII is the best of the classics, but the first is almost as good.
Thank the industry here they have really made a great new series too,
I cant think of another game that could be so beautiful.
