A good way to describe Endwar is to think of it like one of the Total War titles, except in a modern setting and the inability to scroll all over the battlefield. Having given it a once through, I find it interesting enough to want to try it again with another faction. Much has been made about its voice command ability, but if you know anything about the technology behind voice recognition, this feature should be spotty at best. Fortunately, the game plays perfectly fine without voice command. Expand

Endwar, first off is the only RTS ive seen that shows true realism and strategy. other RTSs ive seen is merely who has the most forces, now with Endwar its not how many you have but how you use them. and true history has shown us that numbers dont mean anything. think about the US forces in Iraq, or Afghanistan. when Desert Storm happend we has maybe 20,000 soldiers there againstEndwar, first off is the only RTS ive seen that shows true realism and strategy. other RTSs ive seen is merely who has the most forces, now with Endwar its not how many you have but how you use them. and true history has shown us that numbers dont mean anything. think about the US forces in Iraq, or Afghanistan. when Desert Storm happend we has maybe 20,000 soldiers there against 500,000-1,000,000 enemies. but because of tactics they prevaled. and thats what this RTS is about. its about how efficently you can think as a General. and how smart you are when it comes to commanding troops. simply charging all your troops at once would be foolish as one well placed artillery strike would end it.
i rate this game a 10 because thios is the only RTS in exsistance that brings in true realism and Strategy in to the gaming world. plus i think the game was really fun.

If you love playing RTS games and have played many this game is completely a disappointment. First off the games voice command system is a nice touch, but the developer built the game to rely on it heavily, which flaws the game because the voice command system is flawed. You haft to speak slowly word for word and thats just not fun. But, the biggest draw back is the games camera. Your camera is anchored and FIXED onto your selected unit and you CANNOT scroll away from it to look for threats, pre-plan the terrain or anything. You can only see what you unit sees. Making it worse even with air units your camera is placed under the, For example a helicopter. The camera is really low and you cannot see threats over or behind (Buildings, Trees ect.) You also cannot zoom out to see to get a better view of the action. If anything they did however add a 'binocular zoom' which makes looking are pixelated pebbles on the ground easier to view. Therefore it gets a 1, because at least the game works I just can't play a game that blinds you to your surroundings. Expand

First off I would like to comment on this game's realism: it is beyond excellent. While some gamers may criticise it for being a non-stop rock-paper-scissors match, this is a reflection of the modern battlefield. A tank will never be defeated by any number of rifle wielding infantry, but it will never stand a chance against a group of wel entrenched combat engineers. A tank will never be defeated by any number of rifle wielding infantry, but it will never stand a chance against a group of wel entrenched combat engineers. And artillery, if used properly, can truly devastate anything on the battlefield. The depth of the game is actully to scale as well, which some gamers may not like. the tactical interface is very similar to the military's FBCB2 system, which allows a commander to keep track of his units and give command digitally as well as by voice. Gamers that want a massive, epic RTS with legions of troops on both sides hammering away at massive emplaced defences and on field bases should search elsewhere, but those interested in seeing how an actual battle developes from the perspective a modern battalion commander will love the game. EndWar is a new breed of RTS, what other RTS games used voice command before EndWar? None. Then we have the people whining about camera controls, IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE REALISTIC!

If you are an experienced RTS gamer, avoid Endwar. This game was disappointing, but I should probably expect this by now from a Tom Clancy game. The management features are horrible, the graphics are crappy, the and the camera controls suck!! The one redeemable quality WOULD be the voice commands but even that's poorly implemented. I swear, no tactics or thought was put in this game. I'm going back to a real RTT, WiC, or CoH! Endwar is a crappy RTS game. In a world where we have many classic and beloved strategy games such as Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Dawn of War, etc, Ubisoft should be trying to raise the bar and blow us away. Instead, we recieve a half-baked piece of crap, with poor graphics, poor AI, and a TERRIBLE voice command system. Spend your money on a decent game.

    2) No real game progress. i mean, if you upgrade your army, the enemy would do the same,
you can never overwhelm the enemy with superior tech advances, the enemy will pickup
at least two ranks behind you, so if you upgrade your army in anyway, it doesnt help that much
    3) voice command. not much, but if you made mistake using this feature, it can give u setback.
imagine giving orders of airstrike or wmd to ur own units or uplinks. dang!

You have to learn what counter what and how to use this effectively. In the end i feel its a great game with few flaws which don't pull the product down. RECOMMENDED! Expand

  1. Tom Clancy's Endwar is an innovative RTS, suitable both for the genre-fan and the newbie. The gameplay is slightly more action than usual, and the closer look to the battlefield could disappoint the strategy purists, but vocal commands and great visuals make this game a must-try.
  2. EndWar is a raw diamond: Ubisoft has tried to innovate in the RTS genre with the voice control scheme but at the same time the gameplay is still very classic like any other strategy game with a general lack of tactical aspects.
  3. While the console versions are solid, the PC version of this unique strategy game is too stripped to stand out.
