I was disappointed by this expansion. One can create a fresh, level 40 character for it but be careful about distributing the skill points. I had to restart because my character was unable to pick up the most basic leveled bows due to lack of strength. The story and the map was okay and finished on level 47 after 20 hours on easy. I'd have expected more progression. The loot drops were mediocre; over the course of the expansion, I could replace my bow 2 times with a more powerful one. I'm a big hoarder so sold everything dropped, which made me a multi-millionaire but the vendors had nothing of use for me. Also there were a lot of trinket drops (the ones you have to combine 3-5 of) but never got to enchant my equipment. The enemies did scale beyond me and it took more and more time to defeat them (partially due to all those outdated equipment). Expand

В целом годное дополнение. Вернулся в игру только чтобы пройти его и не пожалел.

Неплохое сюжетное дополнение в виде пятого акта и нового играбельного класса, к сожалению запоминающихся моментов мало.

The expansion pack is quite an event after so many years, especially since fans of Titan Quest (just like any other game) will have high expectations. I appreciate this add-on from the perspective of both the multiple passes of the base with Immortal Throne in the pre-Steam era, as well as playing the Anniversary version on Steam.

How does it go? Good, but unevenly. As it is easy to get lost in complicated statements, I will write it broken down into pros and cons:

    PROS
    1. A new Mastery that is interesting and non-linear. It strongly resembles the "revolutionary" approach of adding the Immortal Throne Dream Championship. Runes not only relate well to the plot of the add-on, but are also ideal for combining with what they can be combined with, what synergies will be created, etc.
    2. Soundtrack. Starting from the main menu, we are accompanied by great music. The best of all acts, in my opinion.
    3. A throwing weapon that is ideal not only for Rogue but also for other, less subtle classes.
    4. Improvements to some elements of the game mechanics. Automatic merging of relic fragments when sorting in a backpack or a separate tab for them and artifacts at the cavalryman.
    5. Locations. Although some of them seem not very original, in the case of Ragnarok it was possible to create more "real" settlements. The places we visit look more natural, although it sometimes means a bit of a jumbled road system.

    CONS
    1. Quests. This one is very serious and has two faces. On the one hand, we constantly come across buggy tasks. Once, the option to talk to the character will not appear, other times an item will not fall out of the quest, it happens that one quest "eats" an item from another. Overall poor, and I've been writing this a long time since the expansion pack came out, and I'm still encountering the same issues. The other side of the coin is the construction of side quests - in some cases only outside help will allow you to complete such a quest. There is an item related to the task that we do not have, and the very description of the task that appears does not say anything about the way of its finalization. Other times, we have to absolutely guess what the author meant, because the items seem (and are) related in a non-intuitive way.
    2. Performance problems. Sometimes the game has had unjustified strong drops in FPS since the beginning of Act 5.
    3. The plot. While it's not such an important hack'n'slash element as TQ was, it's better that the whole of our beating monsters makes sense. Here, practically the trailer spoils the "plot twist".

Still, the DLC is very good. You have to get over or skip bizarre quests. Sometimes a reboot will be needed due to a bug, but there are still more pluses. If there was an option other than "recommend" not "recommend" it would be much easier to rate games or add-ons like this one.

I think everyone understands that in this game dlc is the worst thing the developers could come up with. Mediocre dlc. Many empty locations that are not interesting to clean up.

If you enjoyed the original Titan Quest, I believe you will enjoy this at least 10 hours long expansion. It still is a great hack’n’slash, but Ragnarok does little to enrich the experience, looks old and certainly will not delight you with its story. [02/2018, p.55]

This surprise expansion for Titan Quest takes you on a journey to the frigid north after exhausting all the sun-soaked options before getting you hooked on loot all over again. The slower pacing and combat might not be for everyone but for those that love the original or action-RPGs from that era there is a lot to like.

Appearing out of nowhere, more than a decade after the original game's release, Titan Quest: Ragnarok is a welcome and nostalgic treat for fans of the action-RPG franchise who longed for more. But despite the glowing nostalgia and overall thrill of being back in this world, this expansion has its flaws with unnecessarily boring bits and a dated presentation.
