A surprisingly detailed, grotesquely beautiful pixelart ARPG. The maps are extremely imaginative, especially in the later areas. The world is richly designed and densely populated with npc's. The game also has secrets to discover, including secret bosses and multiple endings. Buy the game, it is worth your time. Expand

You can tell a genuine attempt was made at creating a Dark Horror 2d Top Down ARPG Dark Souls like game, but the budget wasn't there and everything fell short of being good.

I'm sure it's up to personal preference but I found the pixel graphics to be ugly even compared to other pixel graphics. The combat tries to be like Hades but fails to deliver in complexity, with you only spamming a basic attack, dodging and using a special from time to time leading to really bland combat. The level design tries to be like a metroidvania, but ends up just being mainly linear hallways with a few hidden items that feel more like doing it just for completionist sake because the items themselves are incredibly boring. Even the story fails to grip you with it's badly written dialogue and pacing issues.

An attempt was made at creating a great game, it just fell short in every category.

The pixel graphics are pretty decent and the gameplay is fast and fluid. Game has some nice story sequences. Can be difficult to find your way around at times without a map but there are directions scattered around. If you like mature 2d action rpgs, its worth giving this a try.

I have played dark pixelart adventures, and this is one of the best. I'm hugely disappointed that this game doesn't get reviews from the gaming press, which as always sucks.

The gameplay in his attacks is like that of No Place for Bravery that came out recently, but with a sinister, blasphemous, wicked atmosphere to the max. A game to move your fingers, with lots of dialogues to read,

I've spent it in 15 hours and I think it's record time. This game is like 20 hours. It has huge areas to explore, with its own biome and assets.

Molten wax, cannibals, dark magic, baby sacrifices. This game is possibly an adventure for all of us who enjoy games like Blasphemous, Elden Ring, Axiom Verge, Eastward, Death's Gambit, Eldest Souls.

(if u have a game advice from me choose easy mode to save time and get true ending easly).

-game design is so bad, all bad bosses, some very annoying enemies, bad endings, pacing issues, badly written dialogue and story.

-only good world lore, atmosphere and art.

    -buy instead hollow knight.

A top-down adventure title that pays homage to the likes of Zelda and Illusion of Time, There Is No Light is an illuminating game that fits alongside them. A little rough around some edges, it nonetheless scratches that itch for retro enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
