I think Theme Hospital was the best ancestor of modern micro-management games with great sense of humor. I can't forget the long hours that I was trying to advance to "next hospital"
Clinics, wards, treatment facilities, experiments and researchs, staff training offices, everything that was possible in those years was made available thanks to Bullfrog with cute graphics.
    Todays games sadly

Todays games sadly don't contain such features. Hope to see Theme Hospital 2 one day...
I suggest Dungeon Keeper, Startopia and Evil Genius to players who like this genre since I admit Theme Hospital is the best.

One of the best games of 90s. The humor of Bullfrog Productions fits pretty well, they could do a remastered version of the game and it would still sell a lot of copies.

Has everyone forgotten about this game? It is a great spin off of Bullfrog's classic "Theme Park". The game is fairly short but challenging. By today's standards it has flaws in the polishing of the game (say, GUI shortcuts), but for its time it was incredible. I was ecstatic when I got it for Christmas. In my rural area of the U.S. it was hard to come across, especially before the Internet blew up into a shopping center (eBay started the year this was released! Long time ago...)

Many nostalgic memories were relived when I played this game recently. The dark humour and the determination to reach the next level were enough to make this game a one-of-a-kind.

One of the not many games I remember from childhood. Awesome, epic, stunning, flawless, magnificent and lot of gameplay unlike 95% modern games. I will always get back to this game.

I love this game! Wish I could still play it on my laptop. It was so fun running your own hospital, all the rooms, staff and facilities. And getting to upgrade to new diseases and cures!

There is no other game that you can play which is more epic than this... Forget your Call of Dutys', Half Lifes' and Sims'! There is no boredom with this game, each little invisible man cured is a milestone.

They should make a new version of it, in HD would be nice!
Hard to find anything so fun lately, xcom will do it for now, but hospitals can be funnier than wars

For a game that was released back in 1997 it never really pushed the graphical capabilities to its limits. But having said that, I don't think that was necessary for this game as it provides a slightly twisted sense of humor and realistic (if not a little annoying) voice acting. This game I feel is slightly overshadowed by other Sim-styled games like the Tycoon series and Sim City, but still is considered a massive commercial success selling a respectable four million copies worldwide. Still an entertaining, fairly addictive game with good level depth and decent challenges, I recommend giving the demo a try at the very least. Expand

Spent much time playing this game. It's wonderful. When I played modern management games I always thought about Theme Hospital. You can't forget this game. Nowadays management games are very far from TH.

A very good hospital sim that is funny, entertaining and challenging. A real shame they don't really make games like this any more. I recently picked up the PS1 version and tried it again and it plays a little clunky from what I remember but still as enjoyable as I remember.

In this game you must manage your own hospital. The game actually is fun, graphics are ok despite its age. You will get some kind of tutorial and occasional tips through the game. Sometimes there are some moments when you're not sure what to do, but mostly you're busy to manage your hospital. Definitely must try.

One of the games I have the best memories of from my childhood. This game was so fun to play, running your own hospital and trying to keep all your patients happy. I used to play this with friends and have so much fun with all the crazy things going on, great sense of humour in this game.

Uno de los simuladores más locos y divertidos que se crearon, sin perder por ello profundidad estratégica. Una lástima que no se haya conseguido hacer un remake decente porque podría funcionar muy bien para tablets.

Great game with good humor and a decently challenging management simulation part.
Sadly the game controls didn't age very well. Also, it's a bit frustrating to have to build up a brand new hospital in each level, rather than having the option to have one's hospital carried over from a level to the next.

Theme Hospital is one of many business simulation classics developed by the legendary Bullfrog. You get to manage a hospital and cure patients with variety of funny diseases (from bloaty head to Elvis syndrome). You will have to deal with the expectations of your staff, the happiness of your patients, earthquakes, epidemics…

If you only play the first several missions, Theme Hospital could easily be your favorite tycoon / business sim game ever. It is charming, hilarious and fun. The last few missions though, get extremely repetitive and are a chore to play. Design your hospital in a way the game does not want you to, and you will spend hours cleaning vomit and repairing machinery which involves hundreds of tedious mouse clicks. Add to that the numerous bugs (doctors disappearing, doctors freezing and making rooms inoperable as well as unremovable, patients forming lines in one room and for no reason ignoring the adjacent room), there is a good chance you will just give up. I know I have.

I have fond memories of Theme Hospital from my childhood, but as a child I kept replaying the early missions. Visiting it 23 years later, it is still great fun, at first... But in later levels, Theme Hospital overstays its welcome.

PS: If you are curious, maybe you should consider trying the CorsixTH community remaster instead, which supposedly fixes the problems.

I guess I finished it three times and the first one was when I was around 10. It is such a fun game to play. There is also a comical side to it which makes it even more enjoyable. I wish there was a sequel with different types of illnesses, dialogues etc.

You can see from the game that the developers were thinking creatively, not in patterns. The economics of the game make you sweat. The humour is excellent.

Loved this as a kid but always got stuck on the levels so never really completed it although I want to play it again and complete every level. Such a classic game for kids and adults and always makes you laugh.
