    Wizards Dark times is a decent game for Rift S with cool gesture-summoning which makes you feel super cool summoning fireballs, shields and heaps of other cool stuff. There is no shortage of spells and they are great and work well with the teleporting mechanic since you are a wizard, so if makes perfect sense as a way to move around. But there are a lot of bugs with teleporting which willWizards Dark times is a decent game for Rift S with cool gesture-summoning which makes you feel super cool summoning fireballs, shields and heaps of other cool stuff. There is no shortage of spells and they are great and work well with the teleporting mechanic since you are a wizard, so if makes perfect sense as a way to move around. But there are a lot of bugs with teleporting which will get you stuck and greatly limits any exploration, making the experience feel cripplingly linear considering all the cool spells you have to play with. I would have liked some choice on pathing so you can actually use your spells for something other than just combat. The initial novelty of using gestures to summon spells wears off fairly fast and actually my favourite weapon - the ice bow - often got mixed with other very similar gestures, making it basically unusable later in the game. The first hour or so was an absolute blast, but it becomes incredibly repetetive later on and I found I had to force myself to reach the ending which turned out to be quite disappointing anyway. Not a bad game but it suffers from the common problem of a lot of VR titles, that it has a cool concept but just kind of gets boring once you learn the mechanics.… Expand

    I would heartily recommend The Wizards: Dark Times to anyone who wants a bit of magic VR gaming or who just wants to experience what a VR world can be. It’s a lot of fun and you get to feel like a truly powerful mage!

    The Wizards - Dark Times is great. It’s absolutely a must-have if you’re interested in VR spellcasting using only hand movements, and generally want to feel like a wizard. While there are some minor grievances with the gameplay, they pale in comparison to the level of fun and enjoyment you’ll get out of this one.

    The Wizards – Dark Times needed to be a bigger, better adventure than its forebear and for the most part, it does. Once all the spells are unlocked the magic system showcases why VR is a natural fit this style of videogame, wielding powerful spells with abandon. There are no RPG elements to get bogged down with, potions to collect or stats to upgrade, unencumbering players for a lighter gameplay experience which is easy to step into. Even though there are some gripes along the way The Wizards – Dark Times still proves a satisfying magical adventure.
