It's a fantastic DLC,well worth the small asking price.Besides the expected new weapons, armour, quests etc,it contains a truly brilliant main story and excellent characters, music and dialogue. The Witcher (and CDPR) keep on giving in what is now,I have decided, the greatest video game I've ever experienced (4 times so far).Blood and Wine cannot come soon enough...Masterful.

Amazing expansion. Awesome story. Great characters. Improved boss fights. Just amazing.
It is basically still the same old Witcher 3 but even more improved. I did not think it is even possible but here you are.

Great expansion pack with great story. It starts kind of slow, and I was initially disappointed when it started with a mission to kill some monster in the sewers, but then the story quickly starts taking unexpected turns, and builds up to become a really great storyline on par with the best storylines of the original game (such as the Bloody Baron storyline). Overall, a great expansion.

A great example of what DLC should be. It adds a new crafting system to the game and expands the world a bit. The real treat, however, is the story. Without spoiling anything, I'll say that the antagonist is one of the most interesting I've encountered in a video game, ever. I really enjoyed the 10 hours I put into and I think it's well worth the $15 it cost.

If you liked the characters of Witcher 3, which I did, this expansion is terrific. There is a new enchanter merchant who can introduce some quality of life improvements. More significantly the main 4 quests are up there with the best quests in the base game, and thats 70% of the expansion right there. The characters are fully fleshed out 3 dimensional beings, despite only one of them appearing in the books. It is fun at times, dark at times and tragic at times. Every quest has a purpose. No fetch runs or pointless collections here. And the environment.... There is a house. Once you see it in the game world, once in someones impressionist painting of it, and once in some sort of nightmare place. The contrast between these impressions of the same place are nothing short of masterful. Far better than one could expect from a new space that would be more of the same. Compared to other DLC out there Hearts of Stone is a bargain and well worth it. I'd go so far as to say "best expansion ever" but I'll have to play blood and wine first to see if that's true. Expand

I wouldn't exactly call Hearts of Stone an expansion, more like an expanded DLC. Having said that, the story completely blew me away. This is definitely one of the greatest pieces of RPG storytelling ever made. Please CDPR, please make more like this.

More cards for the exciting mini-game "Gwent", logical consequences of your choices without any false moralizing on the one hand, and savoring the gruesome on another. Whereas I think Blood and Wine is a bit above HoS, I give this a 10 just because of the characters Olgierd von Everec and Gaunter O'Dimm. Also, possibly the best quest in the game + expansions. You'll know which one when you play it.

    Play this.

WOW, this is how you do it, one of the best expansions I have ever played. I loved The Witcher 3 and I was expecting this to be just a few more hours of questing, but it took the already fantastic game and improved it further on so many levels.

First and foremost, the main quest here is just brilliant, it's honestly better than anything in the main game, so fatal, so dark, so good.

The music is fantastic, the main theme in many different forms. I started to first pay attention to it after listening to some random kids on the street singing the song, thinking about it and how it connects to the story, it later become integrated into the music in game, making it so much more impactful, i loved this.

New armor sets are finally looking elegant and stylish, loving the New Moon set and with the new Runemaster you can improve it to your liking, transform it into the armor type fo your choice and so on.

Boss Fights!!! Finally really, really good boss fights probably for the first time in this series actually. Something that's been missing from The Witcher 3. This is basically Dark Souls quality. The Frog fight and The Caretaker especially, playing on Death March these were amazing challenges, I died to that frog like 20 times, but as in DS, you learn from your mistakes, learn the patterns and behaviour of your enemy and then with your skill you will beat the boss, satisfaction guaranteed. Even regular monsters are pretty tough around these new parts of the world.

Shani, my favourite girl from The Witcher 1 strikes back with absolutely amazing romance that puts Yennefer and Triss to shame. Way better than both of those, it's fun, it's romantic and just overall more satisfying.

So in summary - better quests, better armors, better fights, better romance. I love this Expansion and I'm now seriously looking forward to the next Blood and Wine DLC, because if it's even better than this... oh man. 10/10

Perfect in every way. One thing, however, you have to ignore: reviews that bicker over the word "expansion." We have known for several months what this expansion entails and so it makes no sense to criticize it for "oh it doesn't have an extra map and this is more of the same." What does that even mean? Every expansion from every game is more of the same.

graphics and story got any new stuff, but is as wonderful as always.
Allot of new songs with an oriental theme has been added that fits perfectly in to the game story. voice acting on the english version is as good as it can be 10/10

i cant give point for the lack of new quest, but they never said the game will have new side quest in this expansion .. it definitely could be a draw back, but i chose not the remove any points on this side since it never has been announced they would add.

if you like the witcher 3 story and story telling you will guaranteed love this expansion. Allot has been added ,allot of work has been done , its incredible that this expansions was even that cheap .. if you think on the content vs price you get more content her than some other games have for the full price, this is actually half of a new game or even more with its 10 hour of main story telling .. if CD project keeps spiting out more expansion in that price range , this quality i would happily by them all, after this expansion i started wishing that they instead of doing a new witcher just add 2-3 expansions with 10-30 hours each expansion and i think this game could life as long as world of warcraft .. ohh they also make a movie now that is not based on the game but more books.. that can be nice if you fell in love with the witcher world. The movie will have a hard time to life up to quality in story telling , acting and the world it self, old attempts haven't been very great but wasen't the worst ether

Some people might have expected this DLC to be a continuation on the original story, but honestly, that makes absolutely no sense. If you indeed finished the whole main story, you'll see that there is no way the story could continue on the same tracks. It's a new mission for Geralt in a long line of new missions.
