Both DLCs for The Witcher 3 are great. It includes new upgrades to your weapons and an expansion of the map. But, without a doubt, the best feature about this DLC is its story, dark and intriguing.

Nice bit of extra content, a DLC that is substantial in size and worth the price of admission.

It's more of the same with a tighter storyline as the assumption is most players will have finished the original so can just attack the main quest here and explode the new area which isn't huge.

Lastly the bosses were not hard or frustrating despite what some might claim, yes they're harder bosses than the Wild Hunt but those were the weakest spectre riders ever.

You'll know if this expansion is your thing if you've played the base game!

Olgierd von Everec appears to be David Beckham with scars and a cocky attitude that makes you want to kill him from the get go - but he cannot be killed! You can however kill him right at the end of the game if you want!

The Wedding romp is great - the DLC is worth its price for that sequence alone

The Witcher 3's first expansion is a bit less deep as compared to the main story but possesses a greater amount of humor and a better feel of adventure. Hearts of Stone is truly what you can call a DLC -- hooking me again in the game, tending to my wounds after the peculiar wave of sadness that comes when you finish a game as good as The Witcher 3.

The principal new addition to the game, mechanics-wise, comes in the form of an alternate way of upgrading your gear, the Runewright. Essentially, instead of adding glyphs and signs to your gear, you can add a single "Runeword", which has a very powerful effect, but takes up all three slots (it won't work with gear with less than three available slots). The whole process of unlocking the various levels of Runewords was expensive, time-consuming, and, in my opinion, not worth the effort - I'd rather just make due with my usual hodge-podge of glyphs and signs. All in all, the Runewright doesn't really fit anywhere - if you've already beaten the game, odds are you don't need what he's selling, and it you're starting a new game, his services are too expensive for you to realistically afford.

My one complaint about this expansion (and it is a minor one) is that it feels too disconnected from the main story. I'm sure this is because it takes place at an undefined time - the player could complete it before or after resolving the main quest, and it makes quite a difference one way or the other who would be around to interact with. But I missed the interaction with Geralt's usual circle of friends, even though we did get a brief reunion with Shani from the first Witcher game. I hope CDPR can improve on this one aspect in Blood and Wine, and make it feel a little more connected to the overall Witcher universe.

With regards to the main story, there's little to complain about. Strong characters and strong gameplay elements overall. The exception to this are the few side quests and treasure hunts that simply devolved into go here and loot this thing or kill this guy. By Witcher 3 standards, these were fairly unremarkable. The ability to enchant items also had potential to diversify customisation options, but unfortunately is really nothing more than an expensive gimmick that serves no useful purpose.

This is unfortunately just more of the same, most of this dlc is more side quest feely than something that could stand on its own.
We do however now have the ability to enchant our armor and weapons.
The recommended level to start this dlc is 30.
You can start the new dlc with your older save or with a premade level 32 geralt.
Hearts of Stone Starts out with Geralt killing a giant toad, only problem is, this toad is a prince.
Geralt is in a bit of trouble, or is he?
He gets some help and now you have to spend the rest of the game clearing your debt by being David beckhams genie.
You set out into the for the most part new locations to grant his seemingly impossible 3 wishes.
You’ll end up doing a heist, find yourself in a painted world, solving puzzles, and taking on some pretty great bosses.
There are quite a few awesome bosses, so you won’t be missing the lack of contracts too much, but these bosses are nowhere near as awesome as they are in the main game.
Hearts of Stone in my opinions starts off a bit slow, but once you get over the initial hump 3 hour hump, the much better 2nd half of the dlc and its story will have you hooked.
I loved the new characters introduced, I loved solving the mystery behind this stone hearted character and this mystery man that’s been following Geralt around.
If you’re still hungry for more witcher content, grab this dlc

The Man of Glass, the haunted mansion (the scariest quest in the entire Witcher series for me so far), the village wedding (the funniest quest in the entire Witcher series, I couldn't stop laughing), heist mission, challenging boss battles and more.

    Great DLC.

Mükemmel bir hikaye ama bu DLC'yi Blood and Wine ile kıyasladığımda, içeriği çok eksik.

Compared to the main story It's absolutely nuts, It doubles down on great characters and the story of the Olgierd family It's incredible, all around more than ten hours worth the little money you pay for It.

    8/10 ❤️ - Very good
    (after completing the DLC)

The main storyline itself is only good. A predictable storyline, and I can't like one of the most important characters.
Side quests and what's around the main plot, it's a revelation.

We have the opportunity to meet the characters from The Witcher 1, which is a really nice experience.

    Many hours of great fun

well if we look at this dlc as something other to this game, something new, then we got big dissapoitement its the same ol novigrad, same old witcher. if look at this dlc like it some aditional thing to main plot, to main game then its good, but personaly me dont look at DLCs like it something aidditional, for me it have to be smth new

Good DLC, but the way the content is scaled is annoying and breaks game lore. The entire new area basically works as GAME+ mode, with low-level creatures like drowners scaled up to annoying 34th level demi-gods that takes minutes of beatings to "down".

The main story is well-done, but linear, and I was reluctant many time to continue with the only option the game left me, and only did

Hearts of Stone pulled the fastest bait and switch I’ve ever seen. After taking a contract and fulfilling it, Geralt is taken prisoner by men from Ofier and put on a boat. When you crash you might think you’ve made it to this new country, well my friend, I can tell you, nope you’re just off the shore of Novigrad. Back to gloom and annoying crowds, because this whole DLC takes place in Novigrad, Oxenfurt and its surrounding area. The thing that really got me was how this ‘adventure’ really felt like it was cut from the original game only to be sold separately. After all, how many times can characters mention Radovid and all the kingly things he’s doing, hours and hours after he’s been dead? The best parts of this DLC were the wedding, which was just hilarious, and the Von Everec estate which was a superb mystery and investigation (something the base game was sorely missing). I could have happily ended it on that estate mission because boy was the ending quest just a letdown. The main villain was clearly never fleshed out, what he was was never outright answered and the good ending clearly slapped on, as though the creators thought you would never have done that optional mission and would obviously just get the bad ending. If you wish to play it, do this at the recommended level 35 while in the base game. You’ll definitely want to end on the high note that is Blood and Wine. Expand

Completely combat driven DLC with overpowered enemies that make almost all your skills completely useless. A bad way to start the paid DLCs. Completely step away from what made W3 good and simply added impossibly tough enemies that are mostly immune to the skills you've spent hours building up.

I could not get past the overly complex, keyboard centric, combat controls. I am not paying $30 to watch my keyboard. I returned it, thank you Steam. I may buy it again when its under $15 and play the story only mode.

Witcher 3 is a fantastic game - in my eyes, the best RPG published until 2015.
Hearts of Stone is a mildly interesting interactive movie.
During many of the movie sequences, where you move ten steps to get to the next movie, you cannot even save.

CD PROJEKT RED

With Geralt's final adventure coming to an end, CD Projekt Red did a masterful job. Action, intrigue, love and Gwent - it's all there and it's better than ever. Truly a finale worthy of the legendary Witcher.
