May 14, 2021A walking simulator copying a lot from other games, TSORF remains independent, while reminding of its numerous role models. Unfortunately, all the details are executed carelessly, and the story appears diffuse and haphazard. So much would have been possible, but here we are left with just a lame linear tube that you feel forced into rather than immersed in.

Mar 29, 2020This game is very slow. The story is not good. The mechanics are not good. This game just like a walking simulator and don2t give you anything.

Feb 20, 2020We really need more games likes this, and I'm really happy that some developers are taking it upon themselves to create videogames in order to express themselves rather than just videogames full of absurd features and banal gameplay. A true GEM!
-
Feb 22, 2020Im really impressed i didn't expect it to be good i really like that kind of storytelling in games the atmosphere is good it's kinda like firewatch with the whole ur alone but not entirely cuz u stay in contact with someone all the time its really good :) we need more games like that

Feb 20, 2020Great atmosphere and huge attention to environment and set dressing. Recommended if you like Firewatch, and similar narrative games.
-
Feb 20, 2020Exciting! I've never played such a profoundly emotional game. Gives me goosebumps!

Feb 20, 2020Nice sound and atmosphere! waiting for the next chapter.
Absolutely recommended! -
Feb 20, 2020This game is really good. All about it is well realized, environment, sound, plot. I recommend it to people who like playing digital adventures and walking simulators like Firewatch and others.

Feb 20, 2020The game is really a little pearl to me... I loved the dialogues and the atmosphere it manages to create. I was touched by the storytelling so deeply, I felt in need to hug my wife this morning a little more than usual. Love is the key.

Feb 20, 2020Love it, strong atmosphere and great story. The dialogues had me captured until the end.
-
Feb 29, 2020Good stuff:
Atmosphere
Decent visuals
Nice actors grasped the casual conversation and mystery hooks
Bad stuff
Almost no puzzles
Heavily scripted and bad environment progression design
The story is banal
Thrill moments are week
A lot of backtracking -
Feb 23, 2020Nice story and great sound. It is a very tranquil investigative story with slight scare effects. It felt like gone home or maybe rather even Ethan Carter.
What i did not like .. at all .. was the mouse sensitivity that seems awefully smoothed to a level that it feels like moving through molasses. This kind of ruined it for me. -

Nov 7, 2020The story is cool, the game has the right amount of creepiness without the cheap frights, but it does feel like a walking simulator. it's funto play it once.
-
Dec 5, 2020The story-telling could be much better. It's a really short game. The visuals are okay. 4hrs on record.

Aug 5, 2022A very atmospheric game, with great voice acting and a wonderfully moody/romantic locale. It channels the Shining in more than a few places (check the bathrooms and the carpet).

Jun 22, 2020Эта игра неплохая, даже хорошая. Идея так себе, но атмосфера очень мрачная. Понимаешь, что ты один в этом отеле, а потом понимаешь, что не один.
-
Oct 30, 2021it had good atmospheric potential, but was tainted by the unmotivated actions of the characters, a million extra details that don't tell the story. I don't know how it is possible to empathize with such flat and inadequate characters. Unsuccessful attempt to imitate the Edith Finch and firewatch.

Aug 2, 2022Romatizing pedophilia, suicide and stalking of a little girl, i dont know wtf is worng with the developers

-
Jul 20, 2023It's not that deep as the developers would like us to believe. They are just glorifying pedophilia. Disgusting perverts.

LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jul 22, 2020A captivating trip to a mountain hotel with a surprise is perfectly written and directed. Suicide of Rachel Foster is short but impressive walking simulator. [Issue#302]
-
Apr 27, 2020After all was said and done, The Suicide of Rachel Foster remains an intriguing story exploration game with great suspense, and I felt that the conclusion justified the journey. However, despite being captivating at times, I did wish the truth revealed would’ve conveyed more of a message and less of a story.
-
Mar 26, 2020Though the atmosphere is beautiful and the sound design is immersively eerie, plot holes and disturbingly accepted character choices greatly hinder this walking simulator.
