    The Sims 4 base game is the weakest and every pack fail to deliver the idea behind its name no matter how! Its limited and it feels like something is missing. Almost 6 years and still the same.
    Dlcs will not fix a bad base game. In fact every dlc for The Sims 4 looks bad comparing to The Sims 2 or The Sims 3. Thats because how bad the base game is.

    They should rename it "The Glitch lifestyle". One of The Sims worst EP. It has way too many glitches, a balcony that you can't use and a gameplay that lasts 2 days. It's bad.

    The concept of the pack is interesting and is quite enjoyable when you first use it , the concept of dumpster diving is quite interesting and the world changing based on how green you are. The apartments are a decent addition . However , the weekly neighbourhood votes are annoying especially the caring is sharing. This pack is kind of meh and I just think something is missing.

    The major feature of a great game? It's different for everyone. No, I'm not talking about tastes, I'm talking about games that deliver a different experience depending on the player. Games where two people meet and talk about the same game, but they have completely different stories to tell. The best games used to give you a simulated environment that responds to your actions, and the result was the story. The Sims used to be such a game.

    Here we have the opposite. The Sims 4 is a game designed to get boring so that you are ready to buy more stuff. More, not really new: New furniture and new themes used to mean new animations, new "voiced" actions, and of course new functionality. That is no longer the case. New gameplay is puzzled together with text windows, overblown particle effects and formatted into "quests" that turn what used to be a freeform sandbox into a shopping list, hunting for medals. The "voice" samples get reused just like the animations, and while you can saturate each of your sims' needs in roughly 15 way by now - with 15 different skills - it always looks the same and feels the same. The basic experience hasn't changed one bit, and a dozen DLCs did not make the world feel bigger.

    The "emotions" eradicated what used to be different personalities and unexpected behavior, and instead of simulated "individuals" you know have a bunch of good looking dolls who all seem to have the same parents and behave the same, react the same - in short: Have become predictable, and therefore just boring.

    Does this pack change this? Can we see that the developers have heard that criticism that has been written and spoken and streamed for six years now?

    Of course not. The only language EA understands is money. So don't give it to them.    … Expand

    I like this expansion.... well, i like the idea of it. It is very disappointing that it does not dare to go further than a simple mechanic when it comes to environmentally friendly living.

    All in all the pack has the potential to go 100% environmental .. but only reaches to 5% or 10% of its potential. So what we get is less than skin deep. Cosmetical at best. My sim does not even get    I like this expansion.... well, i like the idea of it. It is very disappointing that it does not dare to go further than a simple mechanic when it comes to environmentally friendly living.

    I do like the new map very much though (the green neighbourhood) .. with the "lived in" feeling.

    So, why an 8/10? There is potential! .. i would hope a Sims 5 (maaaybe a more realistic one for a change?) could dare to go fully into this direction. Make choices really matter. Other than that, Sims is always a blast to play every now and then.    … Expand

    I don’t think this expansion deserves the rave critic reviews. It’s just OK compared to others. My biggest gripe is the number of bugs it introduced. From future Cubes, clay balls, white cake, and the worst feature bug ever - the dredded “sharing is caring” NAP that destroys hard-built builds permanently and kills gameplay.     This was a boring theme and was incredibly buggy on release. I ended up completely disabling the eco aspects. I had to seek out modders who fixed the mistakes of the developers to make the pack not break my game completely.

    Just to give you an example of the horrors of this pack: I was eating out in a restaurant when a stranger wondered over to my table and stole the table we were dining at along with both of the chairs, our meal, and our drinks. At first I was stunned then I found out it's an intended function of the Eco-Lifestyle pack. It's part of a sharing N.A.P. or neighborhood action plan. I soon discovered that most of my furniture had been stolen from my home and all local businesses were now nearly empty,

    It doesn't stop with that. Some of the other N.A.P. actually encourage/cause married couples to cheat on one another. There is one that shuts down all of the power to your home. So you are literally just sitting in the dark doing nothing for the entire day. They also try to encourage you to feed your sims nasty insects to "save the environment". Yes, you heard that right. You will now see insect based dishes in your food list when you choose to cook from the fridge menu. The whole thing is a mess of propaganda. The only way to stop this insanity is to completely disable autonomy of the system. So basically you just wasted your money buying the pack to begin with.

    The new neighborhood is one of the smallest yet as well. The only part I actually enjoyed was the addition of solar panels and the generator was cool too, but running it turns your neighborhood into a smoggy deathtrap where sims are swarmed to death by flies...who thinks of these things and puts them in a pack? Then clears it for release?

    This was The Sims 4's last chance from me. I will not buy any more digital content for the game again. Honestly, modders make better content for free anyway.    … Expand

    It is a strange pack. As all of the packs....it misses something. It is not complete. The authors of the game are so busy making a great animation that they forgot about the content and the things that made Sims3 a phenomenal game. They want us to buy more and more packs because we miss challenges in the game. So we buy it but oh, it is boring again! This was the last pack I bought becauseIt is a strange pack. And making some packs so ridiculously small (it is probably just some garbage from their garage) is another point that confirms they want to suck money out of people and don't care about the quality.     Despite the game's bugs, The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle is a welcome surprise that surpassed my expectations. Even if you're like me and the idea of off-the-grid living doesn't interest you, there's still enough in this pack that makes it worth a look - just don't expect as much replayability as The Sims 4: Seasons.

    Overall, Eco Lifestyle has been an average experience, though to be fair I am not overly interested in the concepts presented in the expansion. In general I have a lot more fun in packs with nightlife, celebrity, magic, and supernatural concepts, and it has been that way for me throughout all of The Sims games. It is pretty neat that your actions have an impact on the map and you see changes, be it negative or positive, but I personally didn’t feel the need to do anything else once I had my neighborhood cleaned up. Evergreen Harbor itself isn’t a very interesting map to live on, and I don’t see myself continuing on with the Sim or game I started on it.

    The Eco Lifestyle expansion feels new and fresh even this far into the game’s lifespan. Another game-changer for The Sims 4, and a true home run for Maxis.
