    It was the game with the most empty conversations I've ever seen in my life. If the game takes 8 hours, we can only control the characters in 3 hours, there are tons of unnecessary scenes that can be removed in the story of the game, they just put it to prolong the game. Same story as Until Dawn, really not worth playing.

    For example when I was trying to save emma from the deadly creature a simple mouse problem killed her:/ This is too annoying to lose a character for gameplay

    You can't link the clues yourself, which is something I liked because it kept you thinking and also you can't skip or fast forward. the game is around ten hours long which is gd but made into a chore. Once you complete you can choose to replay from a chapter after that you cant

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Quarry is essentially Until Dawn. There are so many things that are the same. A group of teens runs from a crazy family & werewolves. There aren’t enough chances to actually interact with the game. Until Dawn had more interaction. It’s basically like a movie where once in a while you have to duck under a tree branch. Overall I was disappointed for a $70 game. It should have been maybe $40 at most. I decided to sell mine as I couldn’t really see playing it again. Supermassive’s games after Until Dawn have been very underwhelming. I’d give it a 3/5 or a 6/10.… Expand

    The game is fun if you play it once. So many of the choises is just an illusion. The ending felt really lazy. The price tag is way too high on this, wait for a 50% off or something!

Gameplay and the leading cam are actually pretty nice, subliminally trying to help a player to not stuck in one sequence forever. And that's all with pros. There's so many cons, so I will just mention a few, the most significant ones. Pace of the game (especially the beginning) is horrible and boring as hell. Tarot cards are supposed to remind of Totems from UD, and they're just bad. Kind of pointless when you see how this game plays itself. Choices are real horror of this game, most doesn't matter, whole bunch of them are like picking between two dumb answers inadequate to situation and they're so illogical and bad written, just like dialogues between characters which take away a sense of immersion. Most of the time you just sit and think how can someone be so stupid and basically you want to kill everyone cuz there's no likeable character. I mean yeah it's kind of subjective, depends on ourselves but I saw definitely too much similar reactions to mine. QTE (Quick Time Events) were literally too easy and when they're expected to make the game harder, in this case they made it easier. Holding breath, too easy aswell, you just have to look at the blinking red indicator, when it's gone, you release the button and here we are, all alive.
    Summarizing all the arguments, game is bad, but could've been much worse. Not worth those 60$ though and I'd rather wait for atleast 33% discount.    … Expand

While its gameplay isn’t going to set the world on fire, it does its job in adding the right amount of tension and giving just the right level of interactivity for even non-gamers to have a good time.     TL;DR: The Quarry features ultra-crisp graphics, a nice "horror" story and some gruesome visual shocks along the way. The game is virtually identical to its predecessor Until Dawn, down to the "teethy" overacting prevalent in these motion capture capers. The decisionmaking mechanics are often split-second forks in the same road at a push of a stick or button with vastly different outcomesTL;DR: The Quarry features ultra-crisp graphics, a nice "horror" story and some gruesome visual shocks along the way. The game is virtually identical to its predecessor Until Dawn, down to the "teethy" overacting prevalent in these motion capture capers. The decisionmaking mechanics are often split-second forks in the same road at a push of a stick or button with vastly different outcomes - you botch it, and it's snuff time pretty quickly in some encounters - no second chances unless you replay later. The story lasts around 8 hours if you take care to seek all evidence and collectibles and probably 5 if you rush it.

    $70 is a lot to dish out - I'd fully recommend it at $30 level, so wait for a sale if you're unsure.

    The bad: Outside the still great visuals, soundwork and atmosphere, The Quarry suffers from some unclear and downright confusing quick time event style sequences that will affect certain characters' survival and future interactions with each other. It will be frustrating to find out that the thing you just did will screw you later on.

    The collectibles are one of the major pain points since especially Tarot cards are obscure to almost impossible to find in some cases - since they're dependent on nudging characters just so they stand in the right spot - so the then-angling camera will show you a card somewhere up a tree or other obscure places. Audio queues are supposed to help but without a spatial audio system present will be more confusing than helpful.

    The story is certainly not as bad as some make it out to be and there are twists you won't see coming, so the suspense keeps at a good pacing.

    Some of the characters, obviously as teens go, are annoying and some feel like a 40+ yo tried their hand at replicating what a 16 year old might spout these days.

    The somewhat star-studded cast of voice actors does their darndest to fill the awkward lines with life, while some of them cannot be saved. As conversations go, some feel forced to achieve a certain dramatic outcome or to make your decisions more of a "well, she had that one coming" type of thing.

    Overall a solid showing, at a much too high asking price at lauch - it will be a great game for bargain in a future sale - as was Until Dawn back then.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off i find it funny that people are giving it bad scores for lack of gameplay. Like you know its a Interactive movie game right? That's kind of the point just like Until Dawn and Detroit become human and every other game like this.

    Lets start with the positives.

    The voice acting and Casting is 10/10 easily,its so well so as per usual from supermassive,and i love the celebrities they got to be in the game..The atmosphere of the game is also one of the highlights of the game,Its dark and creepy but sometimes its almost too dark so that could be seen as a bad thing.The interaction between the characters is outstanding, it isn't cringe or bad like i see a lot of people saying,you really start to see the relationships between characters early on and it doesnt really let up.The plot honestly its very predictable but its a good story.Its nothing groundbreaking but its engaging enough to keep you interested and you want to play more of it after you finish.The gameplay is fine because its a cinematic game so most of the gameplay involved exploring and QTE events instead of actual combat.And of course as with these games I love that the smallest mistake can get one of your characters killed or give them hopes of survival. The replayability is extremely high as well,the game is built for multiple playthroughs so keep that in mind.

    The cons now while few,they are there.

    The elephant in the room first. The Motion capture they did is very strange. Sometimes its amazing and othertimes it just looks weird like when a character looks down it looks like their eyes are closed. Some characters imo didnt have a big enough role like Chris for example and basically the entire family other than Travis. I feel like some of the playable characters didnt get enough screen time while others got too much,its a crime that you only got to play kaitlyn like twice for any sort of extended time. There are some glitches of course,a pretty major one involving kaitlyn where you shoot your shotgun and a werewolf kills you because the game didn't recognize you shot the gun which is a minor detail because you can revive her anyways.Other than that the only real negatives left is a semi predictable and unoriginal story and the length of the game is short,like you can beat it in 7 hours. But the game is meant for 4 playthroughs at least so its completely fine.

    Final Verdict: Its a fantastic well done game that you will love if you're a fan of games like Until Dawn or Detroit Become Human. This isnt a gameplay heavy shooter like people seem to think it is,Its 100% worth the money imo.

    It’s just a movie with interactivity but It’s definitely not a game ( If your game understanding is just walking like 2-3 minutes and rest of the time watching cringe and empty dialogs yeah it is perfect game for you)
    Firstly game is not interactive (Even Netflix interactive movies are more interactive then this game ) Because your decisions are really not that important They just change a little thing in next scene it doesn’t open a big path or secret things as a example :
    In a part of game You have to choose one of killing a man’s wife or run from there In first try I selected to killing her and after-scenes were very exating I fought with her husband naturally he was so angry to me for killing him wife After that I wanted to try another path I didn’t kill him wife this time and I ran away And you know what It didn’t chance anything him Wife doesn’t have any place for rest of game and doesn’t effect anything but It doesn’t need to be a big choice It can be a small choice right ? No it’s not a choice at all because my next scene is same like her husband chase me again and I fought with him again he was so angry to me for another reason (a reason which I don’t choose or don’t even see) and I fought with him and the only difference between this scene and another scene is when he fell down he didn't get up own himself his wife helped him up yeah the only difference is this .
    In that case it can be a small bad example but rest of the game is like this too . As a general example game doesn’t care who you kill or who you protect it just effected to end game sentences like “John is dead” or “John is alive” It doesn’t effect anything else I want to talk about my biggest disapoitment in the game in the beginning of game I accidentally broke a ladder and game said to me “Path Chosen” And I thonk like “Ow I did something wrong and I will get punish in a part of game” and that part of game had come Our group had to use that ladder but I could remember the ladder's situtation and I screamed like “No its broken don’t do it”
    And game did NOT ask to me like “Use ladder” or “Try something else” They used the ladder and what happened you think NOTHING NOTHING HAPPENED they just used ladder and continued to story Yeah bro path chosen

    Let’s trow away interactivity and talk about story and characters of game They are so bad too . I didn't think for someone in game because they are not interesting they are just classic stereotype teens And their relations and dialogs are just time-waster and cringe but I think all members of game are so and so brave because while monster coming after them they can make (not funny) jokes and they can stay so calm when they lose part of them (like hand eye or something ) When we came to story of game I think It is so guessable story and I couldn't understand the ghost woman thing Yeah I know her place in story but why she trying to talk somebody or scare someone it could remove from game easily and game didn't lose anything important. I think they should gave space to this ghost story Btw I can’t understand game’s chapter ending songs Because in a terrifing situation they play us energetic teeny songs . I don’t offer this game anybody but If you want to try except playing this game go play Detroid Became Human or Heavy Rain if you played it play again trust me you get more fun    … Expand

    Graphics are good. So. Little to no gameplay. Dialogues are plentiful but empty. Choices don't matter. Always the same ending. The finale sucks. The locations are exactly the same as Until Dawn.

Ужасные диалоги, много сцен, которые просто забыли вставить, неестественная мимика лиц, не интересные герои, которым нет желания сопереживать, отвратительное замыливание переднего плана при перемещении персонажа, которое давит на глаза. Я в неё бесплатно бы не сел играть, не говоря уже об потраченных 75 евро.Отвратительная игра, ничего общего с атмосферой until dawn нет.     the game started with a promising entrance which made me curious as to what will happen but then, the game couldn't sustain it. For me, arguing and bickering between main characters was one of the important things for Until Dawn. However, this game doesn't involve it so it is just an ordinary werewolf story.
    all in all, watching some random werewolf movie is as amazing as this game is

    The game itself is great. The bad part is the publisher being the greedy 2k. There is a way to remove the 2k launcher on steam forums which will increase your performance drastically.

    The writing is horrible, with terrible dialogues, characters' ridiculous reactions/actions repeatedly taking you out of the game, and very few meaningful choices that never feel intricate or complex whatsoever. The interactivity overall is very low with absolutely nothing to do outside of following the main story (no object to collect to change    The Quarry is a very bad Until Dawn.

    The writing is horrible, with terrible dialogues, characters' ridiculous reactions/actions repeatedly taking you out of the game, and very few meaningful choices that never feel intricate or complex whatsoever.

    The interactivity overall is very low with absolutely nothing to do outside of following the main story (no object to collect to change the outcome of anything, etc, etc ...), and finally, even in retro "slasher" standards of the genre, the game is never particularly scary or unsettling, only getting you very few times with cheap "jump scares".

    The cherry on top: character deaths in a "normal" playthrough never feel deserved at all; often coming out of the blue at random moments with almost 0 way to tell in advance that it would happen.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Quarry was my introduction into the Horror gaming Genre. I was delighted by the original take on werewolves the writers decided to take. The characters were impactful, and I really felt for them when they died. While I would love to give this game a perfect score, every game has its flaws. Surprisingly I only have minor issues with the game. One of my issues involves the “don’t breathe” QTEs throughout the game. They were rather easy and instead of making me nervous, I actively enjoyed these segments because all I had to do was hold the action button down until it was all clear. This really took away from the tension in my opinion. It is possible that this could be fixed in the settings, however I still can’t give a perfect score due to my other issue with the game. Warning: this next section of my review contains a spoiler. Throughout the game there were moments where I felt like characters who died ought to have survived. Many of these instances are forgivable as the horror genre has to do this at times to continue a story (just something you have to learn to accept). At one point however, Depending on your previous choices, Max gets cured from being a werewolf, after which you reach a pier and are given the choice to stay on the island or leave. Upon choosing to leave, max reaches the adjacent land pier and is then immediately killed by another werewolf. Now this wouldn’t be a problem normally, however the werewolves in this game hate water. So for me it was kind of poorly written that Max didn’t even attempt to fall back in the water. This is only one of a few moments I was disappointed by the “death logic”

    In summary this game was well worth the money and I strongly recommend anyone who’s interested to play this game for themselves.    … Expand

    Die Negativen Bewertungen sind nicht ganz nachvollziehbar in meinen Augen, da man aus den früheren Supermassive Games spielen ja schon weiß das es sich um eine Art interaktiven Film handelt und nicht ein spiel im „typischen sinne“.
    Spiel hat eine Story welche nicht Weltklasse ist aber gut erzählt und an gewissen stellen schon an until dawn erinnert.
    Da es sich um einen teenieslasher    Die Negativen Bewertungen sind nicht ganz nachvollziehbar in meinen Augen, da man aus den früheren Supermassive Games spielen ja schon weiß das es sich um eine Art interaktiven Film handelt und nicht ein spiel im „typischen sinne“.
    Spiel hat eine Story welche nicht Weltklasse ist aber gut erzählt und an gewissen stellen schon an until dawn erinnert.
    Da es sich um einen teenieslasher handelt werden natürlich auch die Charaktere typisch für das genre dargestellt. Die Grafik ist eine 11 von 10 auch wenn sie in manchen Szenen besser und in anderen dann wieder schlechter wirkt, so war es nie so dass ich die Grafik in jeglicher Art bemängeln könnte.
    Klar hat auch das spiel seine schwächen,
    ich selbst bin von dem Problem zwar nicht betroffen aber ich habe mehrfach gelesen, dass es keinen widescreen unterstützt. Sollte für leute mit einem entsprechenden Monitor klar sein vor dem Kauf.
    Aufgrund der Grafik sollte auch der Pc eine entsprechende Hardware haben. Falls man keinen Pc hat sollte man mindestens eine Konsole der neueren Generation besitzen da es auf der old gen wie ein Minecraftclon aussiehst lol.
    Schade meiner Meinung nach ist auch dass es im Vergleich zu until dawn oder den dark pictures teilen sehr einfach ist, die Qte‘s (quick time events) sind auf den stick verschoben worden wo man nur nach oben unten rechts und links drücken muss. Auch die „Atem Sequenzen“ welche in until dawn durch das stillhalten des Controllers am besten gelöst sind und auch in der dark pictures reihe duch das im richtigen takt A drücken noch relativ spannend geregelt ist wird in the Quarry durch das halten des A Knopfes so einfach dass man quasi nicht sterben kann.
    Zum Schluss noch zu meiner Meinung nach dem größten Kritikpunkt von the Quarry, dem Preis.
    Klar the Quarry ist ein bisschen länger als die Dark pictures reihe aber nicht den doppelten preis Wert, aber im sale ein muss für jeden der solche spiele mag!    … Expand

    Perfect game 10/10 , that's how you create a Horror game , some kids will start spoile the game rating now because they didn't understand how to play or it's getting better rate than their games or they just saw videos on YouTube . I totally recommend it to give it a try

    Overall joke of a game with some big name actors attached just to attract hype, some of the worst animations/mocap I've ever seen in modern gaming, and a story that could and may well have been written by a 13 year old.

    The Quarry is not without flaws, but it is far from a bad game. It's entertaining, immersive, and the fate of Hackett's Quarry is entirely in your hands. A must play for fans of Supermassive's games

    I was excited to play this game as a huge fan of " Until Dawn " But after my first play-through, I admit the story is so lacking & the characters are cringey and boring and annoying. Technically I have RTX 3090 and this game keeps dropping to 45FPS, .. please add HDR & DLSS for GOD Sake... This game is a poor man ver of Until Dawn, they basically remake it but with a much weaker plot line and script(actually everything are worst...)...     Absolutely amazing content! Though there are a few development issues with pace and lag on some platforms, my friend's xbox and my PC ran it just fine! 100% would recommend

    Fans of horror and other Supermassive games will definitely enjoy this. There are a few visual bugs here and there but this is made up for by excellent characters, an engaging plot, and gorgeous visuals. The motion capture is great and the brilliant soundtrack mixed with the excellent lighting; camera angles builds the atmosphere perfectly. I would recommend using headphones to trulyFans of horror and other Supermassive games will definitely enjoy this. There are a few visual bugs here and there but this is made up for by excellent characters, an engaging plot, and gorgeous visuals.     -make 0(zero) sense. Character says **** this **** and right after says "Hell yeah let's do this". Like where is the logic? Does it even exist? This whole dialogue nonsense happens throughout the whole playthrough.

    3)Graphics
    -texture quality 7.5/10
    -animations 4/10. I mean it's more of a script issue rather than visual issue but I'll leave it like that. But monster animations are just plain awful.
    -facial expressions 4/10. Emma is the perfect example. She is supposed to be the hot girl but she turns out to be lowkey scary upfront because of the awful mouth animation. And overall characters lack emotions shown in their faces, especially when crying or something like that when you are supposed to show a lot of emotions on your face.
    -reflections. Water and mirrors look dog****. Like 0/10

    4)Script
    -the whole story is just ****ing awfully written. Like what in the holy **** What the **** were the writers smoking or drinking or something else. Honestly looks like an AI written script. If Game of Thrones would've been written by these devs we wouldn't have seen the last season because the show would've been cancelled.

    Conclusion:
    The game is such a ****show. While playing i said these phrases the most: "What the **** are these choices?", "What the **** are these animations?", "What the **** are these dialogues?", "What the **** is going on?", "What is this game about?". And that whole thing that all boys are soy and all girls are strong and **** like that. Just cringe. Oh wow so empowering oh yeah feminism **** like that. No **** it's just painful to look at. Not like I'm against feminism movement but the whole gender swap is braindead and cringe. And 70 dollars for that **** Nah that's a ****ing scam. Costs more and delivers way less. Heard Until Dawn is made by the same devs and it's really good but this one is worse than awful. -5/10. Yeah you heard me right, -5 out of 10. Every single character is unlikable, dialogues and interactions are dog****, make no sense and beyond anyone's levels of cringe, choices are cosmetic and again don't make any sense, the whole story is really weak, the gameplay is nonexistent (yeah just pressing w 50 times or performing a "quick time event", when it's not even a quick time for **** sake, isn't gameplay). Anyone who played and enjoyed the game, you are a subhuman or something else cuz this **** is not fun, is not interesting, is not scary, is not worth 70 bucks. Clown fiesta of a game. Devs idk go on a vacation or something, free up your mind, don't use internet for a month at least. Like clear up the **** in your heads that accumulated over the time.

    And to anyone who still haven't played the game. PLEASE DON'T BUY IT. DON'T. If you wanna play just torrent it. It's not worth any money. You must be paid to play this **** And yeah ultimate advice don't even play this "game". Maybe devs will think like hmm game isn't played by many maybe something is wrong. The horror elements where very lacking with very little suspense or "scares" which for me was a key reason to play the game.

    For me I put Until Dawn at around an 8 - 8.5 so based on that I would give The Quarry a 6.5. I paid only £30 for it on PC and playing through a second time to follow a different path so certainly worth the money but at £60 full price I would advise waiting for a price drop/    … Expand

    This game is a more than worthy successor to Until Dawn. Mechanically almost identical, its story and the relevance of ones choices and decision greatly improved. And it is truly a scary game, which is exactly what i was looking for. I had a great time playing it and the game really invites you to play it again, even more so than Until Dawn. 10/10

    The perfect successor to Until Dawn. While I wish it was a little more interactive in certain points I love how they really doubled down on choice and branching paths of the narrative. The acting, narrative weight, cinematography are all some of the best in gaming. Already going to dive in for another playthrough!

    I’m a die hard until dawn fan so I have judged all their other games since he dry harshly. Yet, I have found that quarry has lived up to expectations and far surpassed them. I think this rivals until dawn for its spot as my favorite game. I think the quarry has a straight forward story with great characters and lots of branching paths.

    История: (задумка хороша — реализация кал редкостный)
    Актёры: (вот тут постарались, актёры разные, характеры персонажей не совсем хорошо прописаны, можно было лучше, но пойдёт)
    Что не понравилось:
    Сюжет: (реализация просто отвратная, герои тупые, выбор ни о чём.)
    Геймдизайн отвратительный: (нихрена не видно на локациях, само повествование рваное — нихрена до конца не понятно, что для чего и зачем)
    Графоний: (в целом он более менее для какого-нибудь 2012 года, но никак не для 2022, даже в until down (2015) графоний был лучше, самое отвратное это вода, не вода, а я **ять хз что это, я как будто "Робоцып смотрю" короче печаль беда.)
    Вариативность: (в "until down" была не идеальной, но тут это вообще редкостный изврат, очень слабо, очень часто твой выбор просто ничем не обоснован и крайне слаб — если героя должны укусить, то его укусят и ничего ты не сможешь сделать и как-то повлиять на это.)
    Дальше небольшой спойлер:
    Превращение ( это, простите, самое уе*анское превращение, что я когда-либо видел, а фильмов с этими монстрами я посмотрел более чем. Вместо постепенного и закономерного разрушения скелета и разрыва кожи, тут же простой кровавый пердёж.)
    Монстры: (это переделанные вендиго, только хуже, жалкое подобие "Люпина" из "Гарри Поттера" сами монстры настолько ущербные, что просто трындец: нихера не видят, нихера не слышат, нихера не чуют, как выслеживают добычу — я хз, в общем вендиго на минималках, нету чувства обречённости и прочих фишек "ужасных монстров")
    Геймплей: (также не дотягивает до "until down" меньше фишек использования контроллера, тупые qte и всё. Даже в серии "dark pictures" фишка с пульсом была интереснее чем тут с задержкой дыхания)
    Цена: (за почти 6к на пс5; 3,5к на пк - в игре хренова туча багов (игра крашится с полным перезапуском), огромное количество минусов, огрехов и по*уизма разрабов ко всему), если бы цена была 1,5к — оценка была бы выше, но за среднестатистическую квартплату — это убожество в которое играть — мучение)    … Expand

    Абсолютно странное и нелогичное игровое кино.
    В этой игре много проблем. И все они в основном к сюжету. Итак:
    1. Глупое поведение персонажей и отсутствие логики. Это излюбленное клише любых фильмов и игр. Персонажи максимально глупые. Да, им только 18, но это не оправдывает их ни разу. Если есть темнота, то нужно обязательно туда идти. Если вы нашли укрытие и снаружи опасность - конечно же    Абсолютно странное и нелогичное игровое кино.
    В этой игре много проблем. И все они в основном к сюжету. Итак:
    1. Глупое поведение персонажей и отсутствие логики.
    Это излюбленное клише любых фильмов и игр. Персонажи максимально глупые. Да, им только 18, но это не оправдывает их ни разу. Если есть темнота, то нужно обязательно туда идти. Если вы нашли укрытие и снаружи опасность - конечно же надо выйти наружу. Когда стоило бы подумать о безопасности, самое время разговоров по душам. Или если на крыше что-то рычит. Что вы сделаете? Конечно же просунете туда руку! Точка. Дальше и так понятно.
    2. Бесполезные подсказки
    В предыдущей игре от этих же разработчиков подсказки даваемые за нахождение секретных табличек действительно помогали и показывали важные моменты. Здесь же толку от подсказок нет. В них либо ничего невозможно разглядеть либо они совсем ничего не дают и не помогают.
    3. Иллюзия выбора.
    Это самый главный обман, который не позволяет мне поставить игре больше пяти баллов. Разработчики яро уверяют нас в нелинейности сюжета. Но её не существует! Выбор из двух вариантов не изменяет сюжет. Это влияет только на порядок их воспроизведения. Сначала персонаж сделает то что ты выберешь, а через минуту сделает то, что было во втором варианте. И смысл от таких выборов? Да ещё порой и действия персонажа не совпадают с вариантом ответа.
    Сведя все эти факторы, я могу поставить игре только 5 баллов. 2 - за графику. Хотя бы она более менее. 0.5 балла за хотя бы наличие сюжета. А ещё 2 - просто потому что жалко ставить 2    … Expand

    Apparently, the co-op mode that we've all been waiting for is some dumb Twitch-play style affair in which you invite people (Who also require the complete full-priced game, no less) to merely *watch* you play solo, at which point they can 'vote' on decisions or perhaps provide commentary.

    The devs had all the time in the world to clarify and make clear what this was and what it wasn't, yet they chose to remain tight-lipped until well beyond the point of Steam's two-week refund window.
    Class act.

    There are two possibilities here. One, the development team is full of alpha widows that portray the jocks that pumped and dumped them in real life in a way that satisifies their bitterness of not being able to keep them around or two, this studio is full of cucked Communists that are doing everything in their power to emasculate and villanise white men like every single other person in the media is doing too. Terrible story, terrible plot, terrible monsters that look like they haven't even loaded into the game properly, creepy facial animations, social commentary, pandering to people that don't play these games, abysmal ending. The only reason I'm even making reference to anything beyond the propaganda piece that this trash is is so that the moderate wimps that think calling out said propaganda is nonsensical and bitter can actually have a position to defend that doesn't involve their offended emotions.

    Another example of why video games in 2022 are a dead medium and need to be boycotted completely. I haven't even mentioned the terrible business practices that came from these amateur developers joining up with 2K so they really are the most scummy, degenerate, talentless game makers that exist in the industry today, and that's saying something when Rockstar and EA exist.

    Not worth £6, let alone £60. These products need all of the shaming and boycotting that they deserve. And go watch Synthetic Man on YouTube if you want actual reviews and critiques of games that aren't afraid to reveal the truth.

    I like Supermassive games but I think this game does not have enough "gaming" for my liking. it is mostly watching a horror movie, which sometimes can get super cheesy, with some odd choices made by developer. Games in the same genre like Detroit Become Human have better balance of interaction and just watching a movie.     There is no evolution or development of the genre, they give you about what you expect. If you are a fan of movie games, for one evening it is quite ok. I bought the game only because of the opportunity to watch it as a movie with pre-selected options, this is the main opportunity, I have wanted to add it for a long time.

    Graphic is very good because supermassive games make this game,music are good and mystery,gameplay are borings but it's normally for this medium,story is not good and don't gave us true reason for story, level design is very week and studio needs to focus on it for future games

    Good story, wonderfully shot, well written and believable characters. Full on committed to the campy (no pun intended) horror it's clearly inspired by.     Clocking in at 7-8 hours long per playthrough (and encouraging you to play more than once), The Quarry is far more of an interactive movie than a game. There is less interactivity than The Order 1886 and less impact in your choices than any Quantic Dream game. It's fun, you'll get about 8 hours out of it, maybe 16-20 if you really enjoy it.

    The graphics are beautiful... but that's about it in terms of the "video game" elements in The Quarry. The quicktime events are awful (honestly, least creativity imaginable here) and the dialogue choices/relationships don't impact much.

    I enjoyed this game and I realize to most people 7 is a bad score. 7 is a game I'm glad I play and glad I didn't pay full price for. Not thrilled, not disappointed.

    Ладно, несмотря на вышесказанное, геймплейно это тот же шаблон Дарк Пикчурс, точь в точь, только отполированный до идеала, тут есть рассказчик, тут есть видения будущего, которые можно находить, тот же самый геймплей: иногда вам дают походить/поискать что-нибудь, в основном, просто выбираете нужный ответ в диалоге, система qte тоже примерно такая же, как в последней части дп.
    Хоть я и немного разочаровался под конец, всё равно у меня нет особого желания хейтить этот проект, разрабы реально старались, геймплейно и визуально игра гораздо лучше всех их предыдущих работ, антил даун вообще курит в сторонке, как я уже писал выше, они отполировали механики своей формулы+сделали карту лагеря со всеми постройками, чтобы вы могли смотреть, где сейчас находятся персонажи+придумали стильные обучающие катсценки+дали возможность иногда поцелиться из-за оружия. Если вам раньше не нравилась, например, малая вариативность в истории, или, отсутствие действий, на больше, чем 2 клика, то и тут вам не понравится, но проделана большая работа над мелочами, делающими игру приятнее+Хороший визуал, иногда оператор пытается найти какой-то интересный ракурс камеры, сама палитра цветов с преобладающим красным оттенком смотрится довольно вкусно, при неплохой графике даже оптимизация вроде неплохая, вашему фпс-у не особо что-то угрожает. Персонажи по трейлеру выглядели невзрачными, но на деле более менее "симпатичные", неплохие образы, хоть и клишированные, в диалогах тупости не очень много, иногда даже интересно слушать)

Игра могла быть хорошей, интересный сюжет, но никакие персонажи, очень мало экшена, много багов и лагов, концовка с титрами вообще схалтурена. Единственное что в этой игре лучше других частей, это интерфейс, он очень примерный.     The Quarry is a good piece of cinematography and storytelling, lost in its medium of choice. The gameplay elements aren't particularly fun, nor worthwhile replaying. The cutscenes are good the first time around, but are certainly get a bit grating the longer the game goes on. Standout performances from the actors certainly carry The Quarry, and it is worthwhile playing through the story at least once, but the second time around feels too much of a chore. The Quarry is the definition of a weekend rental.

    The Quarry is a retread of the familiar genre tropes and Supermassive's own debut game, Until Dawn, but the quality bar is somehow lower than 7 years ago. Still, it’s entertaining enough for one playthrough if you like ”QTE movies”.

    As I mentioned earlier it’s hard to review games like The Quarry without spoiling the story, but I hope I’ve been able to whet your appetite enough with what could easily be Supermassives best entry to date. With the beautifully crafted scenery, soundtrack and great cast it’s certainly one I’ll be playing again and again once I get my Series X version!
