    With so many massive role-playing games or padded action games, it’s refreshing to play an old-school point-and-click adventure without the old-school frustration and without the padded content for length. It’s short, sweet, to the point, and it helps that it’s as fun as it is funny. I’m more than happy to take a break from the AAA scene with a game like this at any time.

    A heartfelt, if not groundbreaking tribute to the King’s Quest games of yore, The Order Of The Thorne successfully honors its inspirations but has yet to prove if it can firmly stand on its own as a solid adventure game proposition of our times.

    With its hand-painted 320x200 backgrounds, modest pacing and exploration focus, The King’s Challenge is a solid Golden Age-style fairy tale adventure that stumbles only in its overly serious tone.

    The King’s Challenge is a serviceable old school point ‘n’ click adventure that should appeal to fans that found the recent remake by Sierra a tad too removed from the spirit of the original.

    Considering the last game from IQ, this game feels like a fluke. Playing it to the end (quickly) makes you think you played a demo of what it should have been, considering it takes nearly 800 MB to install.

    All the characters are flat (quite miserably) and the plot is fast and forward. This game is nothing like what IQ can provide, and I would hate to think they try to reap the grace of their backers who loved their last game.

    Only reason this is getting a 4 is because children under age of 11 are likely to love this game.    … Expand
