This "game" (not really) is not worth your time or your money, keep them both. If you really want to play it, play the demo which is basically the entire game.

I wouldn't call it a computer game, it's interactive-computer-art (Esther, Fatale, The Path etc.). Looks very nice, and nice song, but way too short. You've basically bought a postcard that has some movement and sound, but not much more. If I paid $1 for it, I'd be quite happy to have this in my collection and give it a higher rating of 6 or so. You walk to a bench, sit down, listen to a song and die. Then the song ends and you find out you have to walk away to end the game. Too bad you died on the bench so... you can't walk away.
Therefore you have to Alt+F4 or Ctrl+Alt-Del the application.
    So artsy.

The Graveyard is like paying $5 to toss a Slinky down a flight of stairs. Only instead of the slinky performing like its supposed to, it falls to one side and rolls lazily down the steps. The recording then stops, and a man in a top hat walks out of the same room the mime came out of and asks "how does that make you feel?"

And honestly that scenario would've been at least 200% more entertaining and thought provoking than The Graveyard.

Here's the entire experience you will have if you play The Graveyard: You hold "W" until the old lady limps her way to the bench in the middle of the graveyard, you'll see trees that are one giant flat picture of leaves, absolutely no 3-D quality to them, then you turn around and sit down, you listen to the ENTIRETY of some depressing German song about dying, and the old lady will probablyHere's the entire experience you will have if you play The Graveyard: You hold "W" until the old lady limps her way to the bench in the middle of the graveyard, you'll see trees that are one giant flat picture of leaves, absolutely no 3-D quality to them, then you turn around and sit down, you listen to the ENTIRETY of some depressing German song about dying, and the old lady will probably die during this song, and then you have to minimize and right-click close the game, or use task manager. If you're lucky enough and she doesn't die, you walk back up the path you walked down, leave the graveyard and you're done.

Either way the game ends up going, it's extremely dull and I honestly feel sorry for anyone that has PAID for this. I can't believe it's actually $4.99, when I saw it in my library and even until recently I thought it was a free artsy indie game (like that's been becoming so popular nowadays), and honestly I love artsy indie games, but this one has literally nothing to show for. The graphics aren't even that good, which are the only stimulation you receive throughout your 10 minutes playing The Graveyard. So without good graphics, basically no gameplay, and a song that most people won't even like (which takes up half of the playtime), The Graveyard is just as boring as a graveyard. In fact, I'd rather actually go sit on a bench in a graveyard than play this game, because that way I'd at least get some fresh air.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Graveyard is a very short "interactive art" game in which you walk through a graveyard as an old woman, sit on a bench, and listen to a song.

The controls are simple, but the woman's movement is very slow. You are unable to explore the graveyard because invisible walls block all paths except the one between the gate and the bench. The camera only faces one way, so the character can be obscured by a grave if you try leaving the main path, making it unapparent that you are futilely shuffling into an invisible wall.

The game is intended to be atmospheric, but making the movement slow and the graphics being entirely greyscale does not achieve the intended effect. The graphics and audio are lacking, and while the song is interesting, it feels out of place.

Unfortunately, for me, the old woman died while listening to the song. There was no indication that she was dead aside from that she was slumped over more than before, so I spent several minutes after the song ended trying to figure out why she would no longer move. There is no way to exit or restart at this point, so I was forced to use Alt+F4 to quit the game.

What can I say about the graveyard? You play as an elderly woman visiting a graveyard, from the off that's pretty dull. I actually had to use task manager just to close the thing. I can't honestly recommend this to anyone, as a game or as art. I've genuinely enjoyed actual graveyards more than this. Expand

This is a ridiculous rip-off and not a game at all. You "play" for 3 minutes (you follow a person) and then watch a cut-scene of 5 minutes and that seems to be exactly the amount of time it has taken to program the game. How this could even manage to be SOLD is a mystery to me. This is in no way like the other games the studio has produced, so the comparison to games like The Path with hours of game-time is absurd and games like Esther or Fatale at least have a lot of atmosphere. This has none of those features. Expand

Utter piece of junk, shameful and useless. Not even a game. A total ripoff from so called developers who did a trial with the UDK and decided to sell their laziness under the cover of using an elderly woman in a clumsy attempt to "touching" people and claiming it's art. SHAME ON YOU! Don't consider even if free.

This experience deserves some loving. "Game" is not accurate, and if you rate it as such you are a moron. It is supposed to give you a philosophical view on life. If you find it boring move on and find something more suited to your taste.

I think The Graveyard is a game that made me change my mind and shift my point of view about life. The game is a big experience of art and philosophy. I can't do any other score if it's not 10. People need to play this, cuz everyone needs to know how the life goes and how its significative to give a value to your life. This game is fantastic, its 10 minutes of pure awesomeness! This is much more than a game, its art in its purest form. I believe no man is whole until the day he gets to play The Graveyard. 10/10

That's not really game, is it? It's the purest form of a walking simulator.
