    Difficult to assess.

The atmosphere is great, which in a horror game, is everything. On the other hand, it quite suffers from the low budget. The game is very heavily inspired by Alone in the Dark, so I kept imagining new horrors at every corner... but there isn't much. However, if one is more attracted to reading letters, as in many indie games, then it may be a better fit. The

The shooting dynamics are also, sometimes, VERY frustrating.

I wish all the best to the devs though. They clearly have talent!

Yes, the style of The Glass Staircase is predicated on nostalgia, like so much of our current cultural output, but there’s clearly a craving for this sort of old-school design and aesthetic, and it’s a craving that The Glass Staircase will undoubtedly satisfy for an hour or two.
