I liked it’s message; I liked the music; and I liked the graphics but I didn’t like the handling of the boat. I found it too clunky like it was in molasses. I’m not asking to drive a speedboat set to the Miami Vice soundtrack but as it was I found it a chore at times. The issue is that when the whole game is you steering a boat and you don’t like that aspect it’s hard to give a positive review of the game. I understand what the developer was going for and commend them for it but I guess it just wasn’t for me.

I played The Flood on Linux. It never crashed and I didn’t notice any bugs aside from one instance where a tree clipped through the boat. There is one graphics option and a resolution option. You can’t save but it’s a very short game so that doesn’t matter. Alt-Tab didn’t work. Performance was great.

I wouldn’t call The Flood a bad game but it’s one mechanic could have been done better. The atmosphere was very peaceful so I can see how it can be relaxing. I finished it in seven minutes.
