This year, ZeniMax breathed live into a new zone for The Elder Scrolls Online. Players recovered the Wrathstone tablet which was used to unleash dragons back into Tamriel. They explored Northern Elsweyr, Anequina, to bring the dragon threat to a halt. Most recently, players dealt with the repercussions of the scourge of dragons. Now, players must venture into Southern Elsweyr, Pellitine, and finish the job. A wonderful story, combined with fantastic worldbuilding and new mechanics, brings a fantastic conclusion to the year-long Season of the Dragon event.

I have played ESO since beta, and have loved pretty much every expansion and DLC that's been released, but I have to say Elsweyr, along with the Scalebreaker and Dragonhold DLC’s are simply fantastic. The story was well done, the furnishings are some of the best they have come up with, the landscapes are breathtaking, and I mean come on...there are dragons. That you get to fight. If that doesn’t make you feel like a true hero, I don’t know what will.

Mechanics like the Dragonguard crossbow are a first step in the right direction, but are altogether too seldom used to be really positive. In the long run, the virtues of the game eventually fade away from the uniformity of the scaffolding - and that's just a shame given many good elements.

Dragons return for one last time in The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr - Dragonhold, final DLC of the Season of the Dragon. Great job, ZeniMax.

Walking through the southern lands of Elsweyr turned out to be a pleasant experience, even if the journey lasted only four or five hours and, in some passages, it started to become a little bit tiring.

Elder Scrolls Online: Dragonhold, while moving the needle a bit in terms of zone design, is ultimately more of the same.

The story that closes the events of the Dragon Season turned out to be rather superficial. The characterization of the Pellitine region, on the other hand, proves to live up to the rather high standards of all the other contents of the work of ZeniMax Online, reiterating once again that the construction of the game world is the real strength of The Elder Scrolls Online.
