    Game excells in evey area. Don't understand the bashing this game is copping. Largest and most dense map of any open world deiving game since Fuel. My only complaint is that it is always online and it should be playable offline. It's not really an MMO, it's more a massive open world driving game with online elements.     Don't believe the haters and their negative reviews. The game is loads of fun and reminds me a lot on the old NFS games like Underground and Most Wanted. The map is incredibly huge and the races are rich in variation. Online Coop and PVP add to the experience but it simply doesn't get boring due to the inclusion of customization and different race types like Offroad and Dirt races.     Absolutely brilliant! This game satisfies every racing game fan's need. Huge, detailed, drivable map of North America. A really solid story with great cutscenes. Great cars, detailed customisation options, multiple racing disciplines, cockpit view, great sounding engines, tough cop chases. What more could you ask for? The Crew takes racing fans back to their roots and satisfies pretty muchAbsolutely brilliant! This game satisfies every racing game fan's need. Huge, detailed, drivable map of North America. A really solid story with great cutscenes. Great cars, detailed customisation options, multiple racing disciplines, cockpit view, great sounding engines, tough cop chases. What more could you ask for? The Crew takes racing fans back to their roots and satisfies pretty much everything we've been missing. The online experience is amazing. You can hook up with online players and take on missions together in co-op mode. The single player and online multiplayer experience is seamless. Play it your way. Single player all the way, as a crew or a bit of both.

    I picked up one major glitch during one of the races where all the cars hit an invisible wall and all our front wheels starting lifting off the ground. That was about it. After 24 hours of gameplay, only a few glitches and AI issues picked up, but acceptable. I am loving it and strongly recommend that you buy it. It is worth every cent.    … Expand

    Amazing game! Thank you Ivory Tower and Ubisoft! I so much love TDU 1 and Driver San Francisco and now i fall in love to The Crew. I have been waiting for such a game. Great car list, nice graphics and physics, living world, environment, ambience, customization, diversity of races, music, FREEDOM of USA. Only in long island NYC i spent couple real hours of driving and enjoying the city.Amazing game! Thank you Ivory Tower and Ubisoft!     And, if you drive with your friends you will have 200% more fun ;)

    Exactly what I've been waiting for an RPG but with cars! Still plenty of different activities to use your cars in and the customisation is extensive. Combine all that with a massive open world and an excellent soundtrack to drive to and you won't see me playing anything else for weeks.

    Nothing really innovated but there is a lots of things to do. I like huge wold to drive in and every city feels like the real thing. Have in mind that they will not have all the original street names and places don't have their original names as well but you can tell the city you are in.

    Solid effort from Ivory tower, a lot of time has gone into the cars themselves. and adding or changing a part can really make all the difference in the world, the map is gigantic I mean really big, driving from city to city you can get the sense that every thing feels different depending where you are, Physics done    Epic.     This game is one the best AAA games I have played this year so far. It's a huge improvement of originals TDU and Eden made a big work for this to be done. I played more than 30 hours in 2 days. Driving in the whole USA is like a dream. A very pleasant dream. And, to put an over to a false fact : The Crew is not slowish. At level 50/1200+ cap in a circuit car, you will be fast. Very fast !

    The Crew is a great game to have a lot of fun with your friends. As my last racing game was NFS Most Wanted from 2005 I'm realy impressed about todays games and technics. I love the huge open world and the living environment. Always on isn't the prob for me because the world feels more alive with other players around you. So don't believe the pro haters to much and give it a chance.

    A mind blowing game. The likes to which i have never come across my entire life. The map is huge, probably the biggest so far in gaming history. The game is so immersive that one does not feel like quitting. To be honest one can never get enough of the game. The detailing is spot on. The multi player is super fun.     This game statisfy what a good online racer game is supposed to be. most players that did not liked this game plays realistic racers such as Forza or Grand Turismo. as for the other portion of players they will really be pleased whit this game since it have a NFS: Most Wanted and Test Drive Unlimited taste, witch is pretty good for a release from ubisoft, even tho, its true that some bugsThis game statisfy what a good online racer game is supposed to be. most players that did not liked this game plays realistic racers such as Forza or Grand Turismo. as for the other portion of players they will really be pleased whit this game since it have a NFS: Most Wanted and Test Drive Unlimited taste, witch is pretty good for a release from ubisoft, even tho, its true that some bugs remains, as other big games had before when they got out, but we know they will get those bugs fixed, so thats not a big suprise or a big deal about it and it can happen, at least those bugs are noting major, (unless you have a crappy internet connection)

    For the Interested, here is the Pros/Mids/Cons of the game.

    PROS+
    + Racing coop (up to 4 player max per mission or pvp game)
    + Very detailed environment (Working NPC's, a lot of Wilflife and alot of map details)
    + Better graphics than Test Drive Unlimited 2
    + Detailed leaderboards and statistics for everything
    + Good car handling and controls (with a few exceptions since its a NFS styled game)
    + Polices Forces that can chases you almost evrywhere. (give challenge somtimes)
    + Open world where you can drive wherever you want (Even discover some easter eggs in the world)
    + Good transition between game cinématics and gamplay (So you fell like you gived control of it after mission movies.)
    + Posibility to send your friend do faction missions for you. (so you can save time instead of doing a 2h mission for a bit more of easy game money)
    + 50 Cars for first release batch (Witch is not bad for a game that features quite detailed car interiors)
    + Offers car customisation such as pre-fab vynils/stickers, Rims, Spoilers and some chasis mods. ( Alot more visual customisation to offer compared to TDU2)
    + Day and Night Cycle System

    MIDS~
    ~ Servers are down for maintenance sometimes. (yes it can happen, its an online game)
    ~ Uplay Launcher (at least i can be used / merged whit steam tho)
    ~ Storymode is a bit short. (but is still entertaining to watch)
    ~ Missing Mirrors Animations for Cockpit view in some Cars. (they already working on it already for next patch )
    ~ Weather conditions changes only when you go the mountains where there is snow (they might could use a bit rain but its not that bad)
    ~ Can have unblanced AI (depending if you and your crew have to high level gap)

    CONS-
    - No offline mode (you need a internet connection to play this game)
    - No possibility to add your own Music (but you can customise your playlist atleast)
    - Microtransactions

    So as so far for the rest for the game and the gamplay itself, the pleasure of free roaming those cars with friends is pretty Neat, if your one of thos players who dislike this game, just go back to driveclub or what so ever other racing sim game you were playing, otherwise if your looking for car tunning, driving everywhere from road to montains, and like fast paced races for the fun of playing it, this game i what you are looking for !

    All together i would say, "The Crew" is a cool game to play for cruising around with Friends or even to play alone i would say, sure the game have some bugs and have a litle lack on MMO since its more concentrated on the NFS genre gamplay but is worth the price when we know they will comme up whit more !

    Continue the good work Ubi we know that you can do it and update this until perfection as other titles did before !!

    Pretty good Arcade-Racing game, the game had little connections problems the first day, but now it works perfectly, the story is good, not exceptionnal but still good. The first types of cars are a bit slow, but when reaching level 20, you can have pretty fast cars or just "update" your first car and the fun is here. The map is really big and diversified, big cities, little towns, farmlands, swamps, deserts, mountains ... summary all the biomes of the United States, the only bad point is the police ...The cops are really OP until you can flee on offroad or until you have faster cars and getting rid of them is hard without luck.     Stephane Beley, Director of the Game promised us AT LEAST one year of daily, weekly and monthly adds on, challenges, DLC's (paying and for free), and more if the community asks and follow the game!

    By the way, you'll need to come up to level 20 to begin to handle the true potential of the game and Level 50 (the top level) is only the beginning of the freedom throughout the amazing reproduction of the huge USA territory of The Crew!

    This is a criminally underrated game. Ivory Tower are vets of this genre. The sheer scope and the amount of content is mindblowing. It's fun, addictive, looks great on PC and is an overal great value for the price. Highly recommended.

    lots of fun to play this game, super huge maps comfortable for you, who's like playing around maps with your car, the faction mission feels boring cause you have to race about 2 hours to finish the race :v, nice looking dashboard but no mirror reflection, main story look nice but to short need more story to play, worth to buy if you like open world racing game :3

From story missions to individual PvP races, tests, faction missions and other challenges. After all, free riding with and without your crew is a lot of fun.     Excelente juego, totalmente infravalorado. Ofrece un mundo que explorar, en el que competir, descubrir, o sencillamente, dejarse llevar. La historia, sin ser innovadora, ofrece suficiente variedad como invitar a ser finalizada. Es un mundo fotorrealista, con unos colores desaturados que van en dirección contraria a la tónica general (HDR).

Best asset is hugeness of the map, never saw a game with this much content. You can just cruise around looking at scenery for hours and not get bored. Diversity of cars is not great, but is good since many cars can be fixed to several specs, and they look pretty different with different specs. Progression is also kinda arcade style, most of your car power comes from upgrades, not the cars itself, and you collect those by racing (i look at that like item drops in wow). All in all, hours of fun for me
    So, i get it that this game is not for everyone. If you're old enough to remember outrun you will love this. If you love NFS, chances are that you will love this too. If you love simulation, well, this is not for you sorry. I would give this game 8-8.5 but since it really don't deserve this low mark, I will give it 9.    … Expand

    Nothing short of a stunning game. You can drive around the U.S. in a highly extensive, although I cannot give weather or not it's an accurate presentation since I'm not American. The story mode has a great storyline, but nothing we haven't seen before, but it still leaves you wondering what's coming next. A shortfall is repetition, where the person who gives the mission tells you to simplyNothing short of a stunning game. You can drive around the U.S. in a highly extensive, although I cannot give weather or not it's an accurate presentation since I'm not American. The story mode has a great storyline, but nothing we haven't seen before, but it still leaves you wondering what's coming next. A shortfall is repetition, where the person who gives the mission tells you to simply do one of these 3 things:
    1. Race
    2. "Collect" Crates (which you actually run into with your car)
    3. Ram into another car to take it down
    Another con is that, you start with a car, which you upgrade throughout the game, but most good cars are either outrageously expensive, or require to spend real money. If you get a weak car, you must keep levelling it up and upgrading it to different specs like dirt and street which cost MORE money. Till then, they cannot be used in missions since most of them require an upgraded spec., making it a bit more tedious. Also, once story mode is finished, all you can do is replay missions, do faction PVPs, drive around the U.S. and buy more cars, or quit since there isn't much else to do.
    I have given it a nine since even with it's flaws it's an extremely compelling game    … Expand

    The standalone part is better than a lot of driving games I played during the last 15 years. The scenario is predictable but also good and the cutscenes are just gorgeous.

    This game is definitely more simulation than arcade style playing but it is still a mix between the two. You don't have to be a pro driver to handle the cars but, in towns, you have to avoid the sidewalks if you don't want to see your rides crash in the buildings. The physics are okay, you have to pay attention to the center of inertia if you wish not to play with barriers at every bend. You even have to handle the "exterior, interior, exterior" handling at every single bend. Zigzags also have to be handled with care or you will lose the perfect trajectory and, with that, precious seconds ...

    The map is huge and there are races which can last 4 complete hours? Yes 4 HOURS ! Of course, there are also a lot of very short races, so you can play casual if you need your daily 10 minutes fix :)

    The 'challenges missions' are well thought, not very diversified.but always challenging. And there are 'ghosts' that you can download to try to beat the bests players and see how they did to perform so well.

    Interior camera is also a very enjoyable feature if you wish to immerse yourself a bit more in the game. But the graphics in this section are not very good and the rear-view mirrors are just not functional (they do not reflect anything at all !)

    IMO, this is a very, very good start for this new franchise !    … Expand

    You can choose if you ride to your destination or just teleport, good thing for those who doesn't want to waste time to race, just jump into action, but first you need to go near it so you can unlock in the map.     There is so much fun in this game with a steering wheel, I don't know any alternative to this genre right now.

    After I have played the game for tons of hours I really have to disagree    I dusted off my old Logitech Momo to play this and I have to say... I havne't had this much fun playing a racing game since Test Drive Unlimited 1 . To be honest I was strugling to buy this game after I read the negative critics/user reviews but I have decided to ignore the negativity and check this out by myself.

    After I have played the game for tons of hours I really have to disagree with most of the complaints I have read before.

    First. The graphics. I have read a lot of criticism about how the graphic is outdated. I totally disagree...

    Playing on Ultra on the PC the game is absulutely beautiful running with constant 60FPS with a AMD FX8350 8GB mem ,ASUS R9 280X 3GB VGA. The cars are very detailed even the cockpits. Yes the traffic vehicles are not so much but its for the sake of performance and those vehicles still looks OK.
    The trees, the grass, nicely animated... traveling through a forest or a grassland it almost! feels as the game would run on the latest frostbite or cryengine. The developers really put their work into details.

    There are wondering domestic animals and wildlife depending on the area type and walking people at the towns and cities shout at you if you try to hit them. It makes the whole gameworld very alive. I am amazed how much work went into these details.

    The map is HUGE and there are no invisible walls. Traveling through the US is a joy. Its seamless without any "hickup".

    Next. The Car handling.

    I have read and have heard criticism in gamplay videos that the cars feels like driving on ice etc, and it feels bad. Well its not a sim and I can only compare it to the recent driving games on PC like Grid 1,2,Autosport, F1 2011,12,13,14,15,etc and I think the handling is very good compared to those but I use a wheel so I have no idea about the controler or keyboard option. The handing is nothing like driving on ice with my "middle range" FFB wheel I can feel the grip and the point when the car start to loose it etc. Its "arcadeish" but just on a level when its feels good and fun to play for me.

    The multiplayer and the AI

    I had enough information about how this game an MMO so I didn't expect "hundreds" of cars in one instance in this game. I think this 8 People in one instance sounds OK for a game like this and to be honest I am not a big PVP fan in driving games but its nice to pass other players in Free roam mode and I join a quick race here and there sometimes. Maybe I was lucky but I have always found others to race with when I tried and I didn't have any lagg yet and there were always other players around wherewer I went in free roam.

    Yes. The AI is rubber banding. Its True. But I can bear with it. At least I don't have to restart the race after I did a mistake. :P If I want a challenge I always do the timed and skill challenges instead of the race against the AI. There is PVP for racing.

    The story and game modes...

    The story is cliche yes but its just gives you a direction of your progression about where to go what to do its like a very long introduction of the game makes you get familiar with different game modes and car "kit" types and the driving is more important in a driving anyway but it is still nice to have a story and the cgi is good quality also.

    I have to say after around 20 hour gametime I only discovered about 30% of the map yet but I have already found plenty of challenges and game modes to have fun for tons of more hours already without getting involved in PVP or "Reputation" activities.

    My only criticism is about the engine sound because I feel that TDU had more dynamic and strong engine sounds. The Engine sound volume is a bit low and it tied to the rest of the FX Audio so it is a bit disappointing however the audio effects and ambient sounds are very good playing on an 5.1 set .

    I don't know to much about the music of the game because I have turned it off after I realized that it seems its designed to sound as it would come from the car but unfortunately it sounds as it would have only an 5$ speaker set: :/

    Anyway I am happy that I ignored the negativity and bought this game to taste it myself. Maybe my expectation wasn't "sky high" due to these reviews so it was a pleasant supprise .

    I am almost sure than anyone who enjoyed the Test Drive Unlimited back than and have a racing wheel would have a blast playing this game just as I have now.
    I can safely suggest this game to anyone who like the free roam style driving across towns,cities, and crowded highways in a nicely designed miniaturized US where you can really feel the sense of speed.

    I am happy there is again a game like this to have fun with again since TDU. I am only missing the housing, the third person mode, the char "customization", and the motorbikes. But now there are tons of other stuffs to do in exchange and a lot bigger map. :)

    Rating The Crew is problematic, because you can look at this game from two perspectives. In view of some simplifications and scripted moments it will not delight those in search of pure racing. Those who appreciate large open worlds however will be overjoyed. [01/2015, p.70]

    The massive living environment is a great thing, but inaccurate arcade gameplay and poor balanced missions pushes The Crew into the world of average driving games.

    This ambitious attempt to create an MMO racing game pretty much failed thanks to horrible bugs and poor gameplay balance. And if you prefer playing alone, The Crew is not good enough for that, either.
