    The game still has its flaws, but it's actually pretty brilliant and addictive, even in 2023. Unlike The Crew 2, it doesn't have aircraft or boats, but if you're car-focused, don't even hesitate. Speaking of cars and the story, this game is far better than its sequel. The car physics is better, the map is better, graphics are better (!) and the overall fun is better. Tried it when I got tired of The Crew 2 after reaching 93% completion and I sucked in badly. I honestly recommend this title even in 2023. I wouldn't go for comparisons with the FH, NFS or Test Drive, because every one of those games has its individual touch. And I would easily assess all of them like 10/10, but not forgetting that The Crew still has some minor bugs and can become a bit repetitive, I need to give it 9. All of the mentioned games have something fresh in them and should be tried. It's the same about The Crew. If you love TC2, you'll love TC, and if you didn't like TC2, I'm even more sure you'll like TC. Just try it, it's cheap as hell.… Expand

    Excelente juego, totalmente infravalorado. Ofrece un mundo que explorar, en el que competir, descubrir, o sencillamente, dejarse llevar. La historia, sin ser innovadora, ofrece suficiente variedad como invitar a ser finalizada. Es un mundo fotorrealista, con unos colores desaturados que van en dirección contraria a la tónica general (HDR).

From story missions to individual PvP races, tests, faction missions and other challenges. After all, free riding with and without your crew is a lot of fun. Bisogna dire che io ci ho giocato solo nel 2017 ed ha subito tanti aggiornamenti e alcuni (Wild Run) lo hanno completamente stravolto, quindi il gioco di adesso non é sicuramente nello stato in cui era al rilascio. La prima cosa che mi ha lasciato a bocca aperta é la mappa. Si hanno a disposizione tutti gli USA (ovviamente in scala), maDevo dire che questo gioco mi ha colpito in positivo. La prima cosa che mi ha lasciato a bocca aperta é la mappa. Si hanno a disposizione tutti gli USA (ovviamente in scala), ma il livello di cura é veramente altissimo. Visitare nuove cittá come New York, Las Vegas, Detroit, é semplicemente fantastico. Il senso di libertá che ti da questo gioco é veramente altissimo. Giocare con un amico é relativamente facile, anche se a volte l'auto del nostro compagno puó scomparire nel nulla per poi ritornare per magia a caso. A livello di gestione dell'online infatti direi che ha i suoi piú grossi difetti, che comunque a me personalmente non mi hanno mai impedito di giocare con un mio amico e divertirmi. Il parco macchine é molto buono, ci sono tanti veicoli disponibili e molto diversi tra loro (ci sono anche le moto, i SUV, le supercar, hypercar, auto comuni, ...) e le gare si dividono in varie categorie (categoria off road, tuner, pista, raid, ...) . Comprando 1 volta una macchina (ad esempio una Skyline) si possono comprare poi i vari kit e scambiarli ogni volta a seconda della gara che ci aspetta. L'economia di gioco nelle prime ore di gioco é molto severa e probabilmente spinge all'acquisto in-game di contenuti aggiuntivi, cosa che mi ha scocciato abbastanza in quanto non siamo di fronte ad un freetoplay. Le possibilitá di modificare le proprie auto sono tantissime e si possono cambiare anche gli interni, le minigonne, i fanali , come su need for speed! Ogni tanto girando a caso per la mappa (assolutamente gigantesca) si incontrano delle mini-sfide che permettono di fare punti e sbloccare nuove parti per la nostra auto, rendendo i viaggi mai noiosi. Anche tutto il resto della componente online é studiato veramente bene, ci sono un sacco di modalitá per il PvP e il sistema a fazioni (ogni fazione corrisponde ad un animale) fa si che grosse quantitá di giocatori collaborino assieme per concludere delle missioni (missioni di fazione) e fare punti per poter superare le altre fazioni. Nel complesso un gioco ricchissimi di contenuti, originale, con un'ottimo comparto tecnico (musiche e grafica) ma afflitto da qualche problemino con l'online e una politica di acquisti in-game poco appropriata.     The Crew was definitely better than expected. The racing is fun and never gets boring because of all the different terrains and car classes. At the same time you can explore and level up like an MMO. Doesn't need more than that to have an entertaining game.

    It's a good game and a great idea, huge map, really good customization, great list of vehicles, arcade gameplay... I've been playing The Crew since the beta and I noticed the graphic change that the game had after the release of the "Wild Run" DLC, but for me it wasn't a big deal.
    Unfortunately there's a few negative aspects about the game.

    Unfortunately there's a few negative aspects about the game.
    -There's various technical issues (I currently have an issue with textures not loading properly, which makes some Faction missions impossible for me to do and I also had some issues with my gamepad, but I managed to fix it);
    -The story missions are quite boring and repetitive;
    -The UI it's can be difficult to get used to;
    -Microtransactions;
    -Uplay.
    (Some people say that are having connection problems but, thankfully, I never had one.)

    But overall, it's a good game, if you're into racing games, and it's getting even better since the developers are still supporting the game and releasing new content. Definitely worth a try.    … Expand

    This is a good racing game which is open-world. Very good, but there's some glitches and bugs so yeah, but they made the game successfully and with a hard work, I'll give it a 8/8 m8.

    This is a criminally underrated game. Ivory Tower are vets of this genre. The sheer scope and the amount of content is mindblowing. It's fun, addictive, looks great on PC and is an overal great value for the price. Highly recommended.

    Nothing short of a stunning game. You can drive around the U.S. in a highly extensive, although I cannot give weather or not it's an accurate presentation since I'm not American. The story mode has a great storyline, but nothing we haven't seen before, but it still leaves you wondering what's coming next. A shortfall is repetition, where the person who gives the mission tells you to simplyNothing short of a stunning game. You can drive around the U.S. in a highly extensive, although I cannot give weather or not it's an accurate presentation since I'm not American. The story mode has a great storyline, but nothing we haven't seen before, but it still leaves you wondering what's coming next. A shortfall is repetition, where the person who gives the mission tells you to simply do one of these 3 things:
    1. Race
    2. "Collect" Crates (which you actually run into with your car)
    3. Ram into another car to take it down
    Another con is that, you start with a car, which you upgrade throughout the game, but most good cars are either outrageously expensive, or require to spend real money. If you get a weak car, you must keep levelling it up and upgrading it to different specs like dirt and street which cost MORE money. Till then, they cannot be used in missions since most of them require an upgraded spec., making it a bit more tedious. Also, once story mode is finished, all you can do is replay missions, do faction PVPs, drive around the U.S. and buy more cars, or quit since there isn't much else to do.
    I have given it a nine since even with it's flaws it's an extremely compelling game    … Expand

    lots of fun to play this game, super huge maps comfortable for you, who's like playing around maps with your car, the faction mission feels boring cause you have to race about 2 hours to finish the race :v, nice looking dashboard but no mirror reflection, main story look nice but to short need more story to play, worth to buy if you like open world racing game :3

    Absolutely brilliant! This game satisfies every racing game fan's need. Huge, detailed, drivable map of North America. A really solid story with great cutscenes. Great cars, detailed customisation options, multiple racing disciplines, cockpit view, great sounding engines, tough cop chases. What more could you ask for? The Crew takes racing fans back to their roots and satisfies pretty muchAbsolutely brilliant! This game satisfies every racing game fan's need. Huge, detailed, drivable map of North America. A really solid story with great cutscenes. Great cars, detailed customisation options, multiple racing disciplines, cockpit view, great sounding engines, tough cop chases. What more could you ask for? The Crew takes racing fans back to their roots and satisfies pretty much everything we've been missing. The online experience is amazing. You can hook up with online players and take on missions together in co-op mode. The single player and online multiplayer experience is seamless. Play it your way. Single player all the way, as a crew or a bit of both.

    I picked up one major glitch during one of the races where all the cars hit an invisible wall and all our front wheels starting lifting off the ground. That was about it. After 24 hours of gameplay, only a few glitches and AI issues picked up, but acceptable. I am loving it and strongly recommend that you buy it. It is worth every cent.    … Expand

Graphic is not top notch, but is very beautiful, and it really goes easy on graphic card so much kudos here. Sound, yeah, it could be better, but its not gamebreakingly bad. Best asset is hugeness of the map, never saw a game with this much content. You can just cruise around looking at scenery for hours and not get bored. Diversity of cars is not great, but is good since many cars can be fixed to several specs, and they look pretty different with different specs. Progression is also kinda arcade style, most of your car power comes from upgrades, not the cars itself, and you collect those by racing (i look at that like item drops in wow). All in all, hours of fun for me
    So, i get it that this game is not for everyone. If you're old enough to remember outrun you will love this. If you love NFS, chances are that you will love this too. If you love simulation, well, this is not for you sorry. I would give this game 8-8.5 but since it really don't deserve this low mark, I will give it 9.    … Expand

    I dusted off my old Logitech Momo to play this and I have to say... I havne't had this much fun playing a racing game since Test Drive Unlimited 1 . To be honest I was strugling to buy this game after I read the negative critics/user reviews but I have decided to ignore the negativity and check this out by myself.

    After I have played the game for tons of hours I really have to disagree    I dusted off my old Logitech Momo to play this and I have to say... I havne't had this much fun playing a racing game since Test Drive Unlimited 1 . To be honest I was strugling to buy this game after I read the negative critics/user reviews but I have decided to ignore the negativity and check this out by myself.

    After I have played the game for tons of hours I really have to disagree with most of the complaints I have read before.

    First. The graphics. I have read a lot of criticism about how the graphic is outdated. I totally disagree...

    Playing on Ultra on the PC the game is absulutely beautiful running with constant 60FPS with a AMD FX8350 8GB mem ,ASUS R9 280X 3GB VGA. The cars are very detailed even the cockpits. Yes the traffic vehicles are not so much but its for the sake of performance and those vehicles still looks OK.
    The trees, the grass, nicely animated... traveling through a forest or a grassland it almost! feels as the game would run on the latest frostbite or cryengine. The developers really put their work into details.

    There are wondering domestic animals and wildlife depending on the area type and walking people at the towns and cities shout at you if you try to hit them. It makes the whole gameworld very alive. I am amazed how much work went into these details.

    The map is HUGE and there are no invisible walls. Traveling through the US is a joy. Its seamless without any "hickup".

    Next. The Car handling.

    I have read and have heard criticism in gamplay videos that the cars feels like driving on ice etc, and it feels bad. Well its not a sim and I can only compare it to the recent driving games on PC like Grid 1,2,Autosport, F1 2011,12,13,14,15,etc and I think the handling is very good compared to those but I use a wheel so I have no idea about the controler or keyboard option. The handing is nothing like driving on ice with my "middle range" FFB wheel I can feel the grip and the point when the car start to loose it etc. Its "arcadeish" but just on a level when its feels good and fun to play for me.

    The multiplayer and the AI

    I had enough information about how this game an MMO so I didn't expect "hundreds" of cars in one instance in this game. I think this 8 People in one instance sounds OK for a game like this and to be honest I am not a big PVP fan in driving games but its nice to pass other players in Free roam mode and I join a quick race here and there sometimes. Maybe I was lucky but I have always found others to race with when I tried and I didn't have any lagg yet and there were always other players around wherewer I went in free roam.

    Yes. The AI is rubber banding. Its True. But I can bear with it. At least I don't have to restart the race after I did a mistake. :P If I want a challenge I always do the timed and skill challenges instead of the race against the AI. There is PVP for racing.

    The story and game modes...

    The story is cliche yes but its just gives you a direction of your progression about where to go what to do its like a very long introduction of the game makes you get familiar with different game modes and car "kit" types and the driving is more important in a driving anyway but it is still nice to have a story and the cgi is good quality also.

    I have to say after around 20 hour gametime I only discovered about 30% of the map yet but I have already found plenty of challenges and game modes to have fun for tons of more hours already without getting involved in PVP or "Reputation" activities.

    My only criticism is about the engine sound because I feel that TDU had more dynamic and strong engine sounds. The Engine sound volume is a bit low and it tied to the rest of the FX Audio so it is a bit disappointing however the audio effects and ambient sounds are very good playing on an 5.1 set .

    I don't know to much about the music of the game because I have turned it off after I realized that it seems its designed to sound as it would come from the car but unfortunately it sounds as it would have only an 5$ speaker set: :/

    Anyway I am happy that I ignored the negativity and bought this game to taste it myself. Maybe my expectation wasn't "sky high" due to these reviews so it was a pleasant supprise .

    I am almost sure than anyone who enjoyed the Test Drive Unlimited back than and have a racing wheel would have a blast playing this game just as I have now.
    I can safely suggest this game to anyone who like the free roam style driving across towns,cities, and crowded highways in a nicely designed miniaturized US where you can really feel the sense of speed.

    I am happy there is again a game like this to have fun with again since TDU. I am only missing the housing, the third person mode, the char "customization", and the motorbikes. But now there are tons of other stuffs to do in exchange and a lot bigger map. :)

    TL:DR Due to the negative reviews this game was a pleasant supprise for me. My first Uplay game and I am satisfied.    … Expand

    What the crew doesn't have makes up for what it does have. The Graphics aren't overly new and anything fantastic but the huge map is full of beautiful scenery. It combines the MMO style with the racing genre better than some others. The challenges put around the maps adds that extra challenge to the long journeys between places. Overall a very enjoyable game.

    The scope of the game is really huge and the control is fun. I don't understand the low reviews... For real, I had a lot of fun with this game! Why people care about the story this much? It's a racing game, come on people. :)

    The standalone part is better than a lot of driving games I played during the last 15 years. The scenario is predictable but also good and the cutscenes are just gorgeous.

    This game is definitely more simulation than arcade style playing but it is still a mix between the two. You don't have to be a pro driver to handle the cars but, in towns, you have to avoid the sidewalks if you don't want to see your rides crash in the buildings. The physics are okay, you have to pay attention to the center of inertia if you wish not to play with barriers at every bend. You even have to handle the "exterior, interior, exterior" handling at every single bend. Zigzags also have to be handled with care or you will lose the perfect trajectory and, with that, precious seconds ...

    The map is huge and there are races which can last 4 complete hours? Yes 4 HOURS ! Of course, there are also a lot of very short races, so you can play casual if you need your daily 10 minutes fix :)

    The 'challenges missions' are well thought, not very diversified.but always challenging. And there are 'ghosts' that you can download to try to beat the bests players and see how they did to perform so well.

    Interior camera is also a very enjoyable feature if you wish to immerse yourself a bit more in the game. But the graphics in this section are not very good and the rear-view mirrors are just not functional (they do not reflect anything at all !)

    IMO, this is a very, very good start for this new franchise !    … Expand

    Nothing really innovated but there is a lots of things to do. I like huge wold to drive in and every city feels like the real thing. Have in mind that they will not have all the original street names and places don't have their original names as well but you can tell the city you are in.

    In my opinion, the game is very good. Ivory Tower made an excellent work. I remember my times in NFSU 1 and 2. The game rescue many good parts of other games and included in one game.

    But, The Crew is not better that Forza Horizon 2.

    My grade is 8 by gameplay, innovation e quality. In my PC (FX 8320 and Radeon 280x) the game run in 3 monitors at 5760x1080 in High Quality and FXAA.

    Game excells in evey area. Don't understand the bashing this game is copping. Largest and most dense map of any open world deiving game since Fuel. My only complaint is that it is always online and it should be playable offline. It's not really an MMO, it's more a massive open world driving game with online elements.     Pretty good Arcade-Racing game, the game had little connections problems the first day, but now it works perfectly, the story is good, not exceptionnal but still good. The first types of cars are a bit slow, but when reaching level 20, you can have pretty fast cars or just "update" your first car and the fun is here. The map is really big and diversified, big cities, little towns, farmlands, swamps, deserts, mountains ... summary all the biomes of the United States, the only bad point is the police ...The cops are really OP until you can flee on offroad or until you have faster cars and getting rid of them is hard without luck.     For the Interested, here is the Pros/Mids/Cons of the game.

    PROS+
    + Racing coop (up to 4 player max per mission or pvp game)
    + Very detailed environment (Working NPC's, a lot of Wilflife and alot of map details)
    + Better graphics than Test Drive Unlimited 2
    + Detailed leaderboards and statistics for everything
    + Good car handling and controls (with a few exceptions since its a NFS styled game)
    + Polices Forces that can chases you almost evrywhere. (give challenge somtimes)
    + Open world where you can drive wherever you want (Even discover some easter eggs in the world)
    + Good transition between game cinématics and gamplay (So you fell like you gived control of it after mission movies.)
    + Posibility to send your friend do faction missions for you. (so you can save time instead of doing a 2h mission for a bit more of easy game money)
    + 50 Cars for first release batch (Witch is not bad for a game that features quite detailed car interiors)
    + Offers car customisation such as pre-fab vynils/stickers, Rims, Spoilers and some chasis mods. ( Alot more visual customisation to offer compared to TDU2)
    + Day and Night Cycle System

    MIDS~
    ~ Servers are down for maintenance sometimes. (yes it can happen, its an online game)
    ~ Uplay Launcher (at least i can be used / merged whit steam tho)
    ~ Storymode is a bit short. (but is still entertaining to watch)
    ~ Missing Mirrors Animations for Cockpit view in some Cars. (they already working on it already for next patch )
    ~ Weather conditions changes only when you go the mountains where there is snow (they might could use a bit rain but its not that bad)
    ~ Can have unblanced AI (depending if you and your crew have to high level gap)

    CONS-
    - No offline mode (you need a internet connection to play this game)
    - No possibility to add your own Music (but you can customise your playlist atleast)
    - Microtransactions

    So as so far for the rest for the game and the gamplay itself, the pleasure of free roaming those cars with friends is pretty Neat, if your one of thos players who dislike this game, just go back to driveclub or what so ever other racing sim game you were playing, otherwise if your looking for car tunning, driving everywhere from road to montains, and like fast paced races for the fun of playing it, this game i what you are looking for !

    All together i would say, "The Crew" is a cool game to play for cruising around with Friends or even to play alone i would say, sure the game have some bugs and have a litle lack on MMO since its more concentrated on the NFS genre gamplay but is worth the price when we know they will comme up whit more !

    And, if you drive with your friends you will have 200% more fun ;)

    A mind blowing game. The likes to which i have never come across my entire life. The map is huge, probably the biggest so far in gaming history. The game is so immersive that one does not feel like quitting. To be honest one can never get enough of the game. The detailing is spot on. The multi player is super fun.     Rating The Crew is problematic, because you can look at this game from two perspectives. In view of some simplifications and scripted moments it will not delight those in search of pure racing. Those who appreciate large open worlds however will be overjoyed. [01/2015, p.70]

    The massive living environment is a great thing, but inaccurate arcade gameplay and poor balanced missions pushes The Crew into the world of average driving games.

    This ambitious attempt to create an MMO racing game pretty much failed thanks to horrible bugs and poor gameplay balance. And if you prefer playing alone, The Crew is not good enough for that, either.
