    Decent Pokemon competitor.

    Pros:
    -Dual monster battles
    -Gives a bit more strategy
    Cons:
    -Can be very linear at times
    -Failed basic 3rd grade biology in the custom character creation.

    Pokemon if it was good. Absolutely addicting game with an insanely rewarding PVP aspect. No RNG involved and a lot of mindgames. Plus if you like to theorycraft you can do so much, so many wacky strategies.

    Temtem isn't bad, but it feels very much like a 'we've got Pokémon at home' game in too many areas.

    Art style is subjective of course, but for me the art design is too basic, as is the creature designs throughout. Pokémon excels due to creativity and vibrancy in the character design; Temtem does not. The battle system is where it differentiates itself from Pokémon, and it's good, but    Temtem isn't bad, but it feels very much like a 'we've got Pokémon at home' game in too many areas.

    Art style is subjective of course, but for me the art design is too basic, as is the creature designs throughout. Pokémon excels due to creativity and vibrancy in the character design; Temtem does not. The battle system is where it differentiates itself from Pokémon, and it's good, but not good enough to say it's a game changer in the genre. The story is surprisingly on par with anything Pokémon can offer, but again it's not enough to cover the glaring flaws the title has.

    Game Freak have been lazy with Pokémon too often and it's understandable that other devs have seen an opportunity in the market as a result, but Temtem doesn't do it for me. There's 164 Temtems and it somehow feels less than the 151 original Pokémon did, and by a considerable distance. They're all remarkably unmemorable; they just blend into one another.

    This isn't a 'Pokémon killer' - it's OK to pass a few hours away with but I'm deeply disappointed with what I got for the price I paid. It should be £20 at the very most in my view.    … Expand

    My favorite monster collecting game. Story is fun. Ranked is really good. And the luma (shiny) hunting is really fun! A 10/10 from me!

    Gran juego para los amantes del género, principalmente para la parte online, pero la campaña en solitario es muy buena y larga, además con muchos toques de humor bien tirados en referencia a pokémon.

    Bad and bland. The game lacks deepth in all aspects of its gameplay. The graphics are mediocre - to put it in positive words. You can see how little effort and love went into its creation. I was looking forward to this game for a long time, but I am just sad seeing the product this game became.

    While it's heavily inspired by pokémon after playing around with for a bit I believe there are enough differences to make itself stand out. The doubles focused gameplay, No RNG, a stamina system, and a few other things make it a solid alternative.

    Better than Sword and Shield

    The game is a perfect demostration of what fans want in their favourite game, is what we have been asking for pokemon since almost 10 years, and is now a better option than the actual pokemon games for less than half the price

    This game has unlimited potential. so far there have been some hiccups.. some glitches, some server instability, some changes we didn't all like, but that's kinda how all early access games are. There is so much more to see, so my review may change in the future, but as for right now, I give it a solid 10.     Breeding has been significantly improved as compared to pokemon with it both being far more logical and intuitive, while also decreasing it's importance.

    Further the game is also significantly harder than pokemon, in a good way, this game actually presents a challenge and requires some thought, a welcomed departure from the norms of this genre. The game also features a more mature story than some might expect.

    The game world is vibrant and highly varied featuring hugely different fantastical floating islands.

    Generally speaking if you've played pokemon think of every mechanical issue and clunky feature those games have and Temtem has solved them, all the while also turning the game into a much more skill based experience.

    Simply put if you enjoy pokemon I cannot recommend this game enough, after playing it for dozens of hours I can safely say every pokemon game feels lacking by comparison (all the way from red and blue to sword and shield). I've even gone back to old pokemon games, namely crystal and pearl, to see if it was only newer pokemon games that felt lacking, but no those older pokemon games also failed to even match Temtem.

    If you're not a fan of pokemon I'd say give Temtem a look if you enjoy tactical or turn based games it's a stunning example of the monster collection genre and may just make you fall in love with the concept.    … Expand

    As much as I wanted to enjoy this game, I just can’t get into it. I’m a fan of the changes they made to the the battle system in comparison to Pokémon and that you can play with friends but that’s where the praise ends for me. For instance, in the ruins when trying to rescue a character all you run into is the same dog and occasionally a platypus if your lucky. Secondly, there’s no reliable way to acquire money to buy items like potions or revives which you use a fair amount even if you are higher level than the wild creatures. This leads me to my last point, which is the level distribution in the early areas. I can fight a tamer with level 10’s and then the very next one will have tems from 16-18 that end up making me use most of my items after the battle because they do ridiculous damage even though I’m the same level or a higher level. I’m all for grinding and difficulty (since monster hunter is one of my favorite games) but there needs to be a fun and not a slow as a snail process to leveling up and trying to get money. Overall, right now in its early stages, Temtem is an average game that some people will adore and some people will just find boring and not worth their time.… Expand

    Is it perfect no. Is it good, hell yes. Its a lot of fun to play the story is nice the Temtem are distinguishable and fun to fight with. The way stats and passive works as well as the fact you fight with two of them at a time makes this a different enough and more fun game. Endgame hunting for rare Temtem with high stats as well as breeding can be very tedious and become un-fun but at thatIs it perfect no. Is it good, hell yes.     This game is dope, exactly what I want out of a "pokemon" game. And those who are giving it a zero because its a pokemon rip off are ignorant...This game has excelled on the potential where Pokémon left me flat in sword and shield online.

    Getting down the the mechanics, the game will have you always in a double battle if you have 2 or more Temtem in your party. There are special synergy bonuses for matching up certain Temtem in battle, giving them bonuses to certain moves. There is no PP (Power Points) like Pokemon uses; Instead, you have an SP meter which determines what moves you can use before over-exerting your Temtem, which will then take damage if it over-uses SP. You can wait to recharge the meter in the meantime. Evolution seems to take awhile to accomplish, but I don't mind the wait, personally. You can also have a friend with you for the entirety of the game alongside you with their own Temtem, helping with battles along the way. While that's the full extent of the MMO aspect so far, you can see people running around in the world doing their own thing, albeit without any interaction.
    While the game is still in Early Access, there are plenty of things to do in the game, and it is quite a long game from the looks of it. This is no Pokemon clone; This is its own thing, with its own Temtem type system, battle system and evolution system. The challenge is there, especially when you're against a Temtem team higher level than yourself.    … Expand

    Let me say this, I love Pokemon... i have played pretty much every main series pokemon game since Pokemon Crystal *I wasborn1994* My favorite pokemon is Hydreigon, Espeon is my favorite Eeveeloution and before Espeon it was Jolteon. Now this game... is honestly amazing and this is from my early access POV... I    Hey a monster collection game without a community hugely backing cheating.

    Let me say this, I love Pokemon... i have played pretty much every main series pokemon game since Pokemon Crystal *I wasborn1994* My favorite pokemon is Hydreigon, Espeon is my favorite Eeveeloution and before Espeon it was Jolteon.

    Now this game... is honestly amazing and this is from my early access POV... I have clocked in 11 hours so far... I think the biggest thing that was keeping me stuck to it after playing Sword is the difficulty and I wanted to experience the first Gym(Dojo) and boy was I thrilled and I cant wait for my next Temtem play session. This game honestly has so much potential and I hope it does really well.

    My only cons I have for it is that; well at launch there were queue times and lag but after like day 4 all these issues seem polished and I haven't ran into any crashes, lag or queues actually after that initial launch day.
    -ALSO this game needs a better way to make money... I really think we will need some kind of profession system for the economy of this game.    … Expand

    So much better than pokemon. I was not expecting this game to be this good. Hours of enjoyment alone or with friends. Adorable temtem and strong looking ones too. 10/10!!!

    This game is a work in progress, they released it in EA (early Access) program which means its on early state and theres low content atm.
    For your understanding, the game is at 0.5.4 version as im writing this. Theres TONS of features being worked on.
    This game is promissing.

    Overall, It improves a lot from the source material (pokemon) and adds a lot of uniqueness to Its gameplay. Considering the game It's only on early access, It has a lot of potential to keep improving and perhaps even surpass Pokemon in the final product, though only time will tell

    Temtem never stops surprising me with its content over the different regions/islands you get to explore throughout the game. Overall, Temtem is definitely hard and the skill gap between this game and it's counterpart is felt through many aspects of the game as for example its stamina and synergy mechanics.     Pokémon had every chance to make a game that looks and feels like this. The game has beautiful graphics and plays very smoothly. Besides a slightly annoying launch with packed serves and bugs which the Devs are currently hard at work mitigating.

    The game is awesome . Most people forget its early access. The game is much better version of the recent Pokémon games. The only people hating are die hard Pokémon fans who don't know any better.

    Absolutely solid monster collecting mmorpg, especially for being a kickstarter. Cant wait to see what this game grows into.

    Temtem is a fantastic game when you look at its story and gameplay mechanics alone. However, when you see the variety of activities it has to offer and the way its economy is structured, it will make you second-guess your stay after the main story campaign is done and over with.
