very sleek game, enjoyable combat, deserves more recognition
it has some rough edges because it's a small studio (music, graphics) but it's still much better than many AAA titles with empty core

It's a TBS game with a good combat system, shabby ~16bit graphics and annoying music. It plays and feels like a free game for Android which should have had ads and a few extra campaigns for $1 each. Or rather, a game for Nokia phones out of the 2000s. If you get it on sale for $2 or $3 it's probably fine, but $14.99 it's currently sold for is unfair for a game with such production values. It's a TBS game with a good combat system, shabby ~16bit graphics and annoying music. On the plus side, there are a few interesting innovations which I haven't seen in other TBS games: you can push and pull enemy units, create bridges, destroy many terrain objects, and lay traps - which all leads to some interesting tactics. Though you won't use them often, and for the most part it's more or less a "classic" TBS+RPG game with warriors, archers, mages and healers.

Facing of units is important, as hits from the back do more damage - but this results into awkward "circular" dances when 2 units attempt to perform a backstab at each other every turn (remember rogue vs rogue pvp in WoW?). Playing on "normal" difficulty where characters die permanently doesn't make much sense because your units die too often, and that only means restarting the mission over and over because your veterans are needed in the next missions, and some of them are story-critical. The story is not very interesting, is filled with tons of unnecessary dialog and unfortunately can't be skipped. There is a separate Tutorial in the game, but after you complete it and start the main campaign, you play thru another similar tutorial about the stuff you already know, and that can't be skipped, too.

Overall, the game's innovative features are enjoyable and fun to experiment with if you don't mind the poor presentation and grab the game on a sale for a more realistic price.

This game focuses entirely on one thing: combat. And it succeds briliantly! TT is a game where positioning is a key to the succes. AI is relentless, it will nearly always find a weak point in players defense and concentrate attack on it. Encounter design is really well done, nearly all battles will have multiple objectives, some of them may arise naturally as an emergent gameplay. Game is reasonably challenging and charming. Expand

Despite the fact that Telepath Tactics failed to fully live up to its promises, it is a decent game in its genre. And, it’s an excellent showcase of what just one developer can do.

Telepath Tactics is an impressive title for such a small development team. The game mechanics themselves are well thought-out and the game, although slow going at first, brings in a very high level of challenge for tactical RPG players.
