    Struggling with its episodic nature, Tales of Monkey Island makes an interesting addition to the franchise. Fans will love it and newcomers will enjoy it due to its beautiful world and storyline. Nevertheless, the endless ups and downs in quality of its story progression, keep it from becoming the classic it could be.

Unfortunately, Ron Gilbert had little to do with his creation from that point on, and Curse of Monkey Island, although good, didn't quite have the charm of the earlier iterations. Admittedly, I never played Escape, but I decided to give Tales a go because Telltale did such a good job with 'Sam n' Max'. Thankfully, this a real return to form for the series. It's clever, entertaining, challenging, and most importantly of all, it's funny. Well worth your time. Expand

    {Personal Experience: Personal Experience}
    10/10 - Fantastic.
    [This game turned up not like what i was expecting. I expected it to be like the other TellTale Games i have played through before, but this game feels different. It feels like a Monkey Island game with TellTale Gameplay put in. The 2 games mix pretty well tho. It was fun to play a Monkey Island game again with the characters that i know from my previous PlayThroughs. And the dialogue choices that are common with TellTale games, adds to the experience.]

    {GamePlay: World/Level Design, Quests/Missions/Objectives, Difficulity (Deffault/Normal), Co-Op/Multiplayer Aspects}
    7/10 – Good.
    [The World Design feels just like one of the other monkey island Special Edition games.
    The Quests/Objectives is similar as well.
    The Difficulty isn't that hard but some puzzles might have you wander around the world a lot at some parts of the playthrough.
    Sadly this game doesn't really have a multiplayer mode,]

    {Narrative: Dialogue, Cutscenes}
    9/10 - Great.
    [As a TellTale game, you know its a lot of dialogues in this game.
    The cutscenes in this game feel more like the previous Monkey Island games than previous TellTale Games.]

    {Visuals: Graphics, Motion Capture/Voice-Sync}
    10/10 - Fantastic.
    8/10 - Great.
    7/10 – Good.
    6/10 - Average.
    5/10 – Mediocre.
    4/10 - Bad.
    2/10 - Awful.
    1/10 - Broken.
    0/10 - Non-Existent.
    [The Graphics of this game feels cartoonish, and fits the game well.
    I don't think there is any Motion Capture being used, but the voice-sync is fantastic.]

    {Technical: Bugs, Performance}
    9/10 - Great.
    [I Didn't encounter any bugs during my PlayThrough of the game.
    I did however encounter a few times the game freezing for less than a second, multiple times during my PlayThrough. Other than that, I noticed no performance issues.]

    {Story: The Story}
    10/10 - Fantastic.
    [The story was engaging through the playthrough. Unlike most TellTale Titles this feels like a set storyline tho, more like what the other Monkey Island games is.
    This game feels like a “once played, it's done” kinda title.]

    {Replayability: Replayability (Alternate Endings, Secrets, Multiplayer, etc)}
    5/10 – Bad.
    [This game feels like a “once played, it's done” kinda title.
    You might want to play it 1 or 2 times, but the choices seem to have minimal effects on its story and will pretty much play the same on both runs.]

    "8/10 – Great.
    These games leave me with something to remember them by, ideas for single-player or multiplayer, clever characters and writing,
    noteworthy graphics and sound, or some combination thereof.
    I recommend getting this game."
