A largely satisfying ending for what has been a frustratingly uneven season of graphic adventures.
-
Yes, many of the puzzles were kind of underwhelming, and yes, some of the most dramatically important scenes were severely undercut by Telltale's technically limited engine (the episode 4 finale is so almost-incredible it actually hurts), but hey -- it's Monkey Island, man. A pretty significant part of me can't help but love it, despite all its flaws.
-
Pity. This is the first word that we will come to mind just starts to scroll the credits. Pity about the excellent progress that the series had taken and the original ideas that the guys at Telltale had pulled out of the hat. Perhaps the end is not that healthy dose of courage and "madness" to overturn the cliches of the series. To sum up all the entire chapter but we can not but be more than satisfied. Stay with us waiting for a second season.
-
If you were hoping that Tales of Monkey Island would at least end in some kind of fireworks of ideas, you will be disappointed. Dull and without creativity, this is how Telltale ends the series. It's well meant, but disappointing. It's not bad, but just not enough for Monkey Island.
-
However, standing alone, Telltale Games can and has done much better than Chapter 5.
