Apr 1, 2024I think Tales of Mathasia is a decent math game that is educational, but isn’t as fun as I hoped it’d be. It does a good job of developing something simple and fun for young children, but provides nothing for anyone outside of the demographic. I give it a 6.5/10. Some issues heavily outweigh some of the positives; but at the end of the day it still has enough positives to be fun!

Feb 15, 2024Tales of Mathasia should prove a good teaching aid for beginning mathWhile the player is free to replay levels, there’s no dedicated endless mode that might allow players to simply drill themselves with math problems without the extra context. It seems like an egregious oversight, especially since the main story only takes about an hour to complete. Hopefully if they make a sequel, the developers will better understand the importance of repetition and memorization in early childhood education. Until then, Tales of Mathasia remains a solid, if unimpressive educational game.

Nov 27, 2023Surprisingly complex maths equations paired with a ticking timer might have been the single deterring factor in Tales of Mathasia if it wasn’t for the consistently wrong English and shoddy proofreading throughout an educational title.
