Players who enjoyed the older grid-based adventure game will enjoy it for the strategy, environments and replayability. However, those who are new to the genre will find the graphics confusing, the tactics/strategy too complicated, and lack of user friendliness unhelpful as the tutorial ineffectively explains all the game with a series of text boxes.

Given the amount of detail that lies under Sword and Sorcery’s remarkably basic look and feel, nostalgic fans of that period in gaming history are sure to be pleased. It may be an acquired taste, but if you’re willing to look beyond the presentation and into the real meat of it, there’s plenty of time to be spent exploring, fighting, and thinking your way through the Underworld.

A difficult and truly complex old style rpg that will definitely satisfy veteran adventurers and might be a bit too disorienting for other players. Not exactly the most accessible of videogames, nor the best in the genre, but it’s not a bad game either.
