Oct 3, 2025Sushi Ben is a charming story-driven adventure game that is quirky, whimsical, and incredibly vibrant. From an intriguing slice-of-life-esque story told in vibrant, 3D manga panels, simple gameplay that everyone can enjoy, to a cast of colorful, unforgettable characters, it’s a fun journey to experience. However, its weakness lies in its plethora of bugs and glitches, the most common of all being ones that soft-lock players out of the game, which can be quite frustrating to replay.

Sep 25, 2025Sushi Ben is an experience of exploring a colorful world with truly compelling characters, but that ends up as a much weaker game than it should be. The sum is worth less than the quality of its parts and, though it's still possible to have fun with the weirdness of the experience, this project eserved more polish to truly stand out.

Sep 25, 2025Sushi Ben is an unbelievably vibrant and charming game filled with a creative cast of characters and lovely vibes in the seaside city of Kotobuki Town. It’s got a real sense of place about it as you’re engaging in silly shenanigans and meeting its cast that are well-voiced in both English and Japanese. First and foremost, it is a strong ‘vibes’ game. Still, it’s between a rock and a hard place when it comes to its translation to a flatscreen. The tactility and interactivity aren’t there as much. It’s got a new set of bugs, and it still has a bit of an abrupt, dissatisfying ending. If all else, I’m glad I finally got to experience Sushi Ben and its weird cast of freaks. No one can ever take that away from me.
