    Lacking the aesthetic charm of it's most blatant inspiration (Cave Story) and featuring designs that show their inspiration very well to be generous, Super Gear Quest fails to really innovate on the games that came before it in a significant manner.
    Really, I'd only feel comfortable recommending Super Gear Quest to players wanting to replay a slightly modified Cave Story with a few    Lacking the aesthetic charm of it's most blatant inspiration (Cave Story) and featuring designs that show their inspiration very well to be generous, Super Gear Quest fails to really innovate on the games that came before it in a significant manner.
    Really, I'd only feel comfortable recommending Super Gear Quest to players wanting to replay a slightly modified Cave Story with a few surprises.
    Although there are entertaining moments throughout, for a $15 you're much better off purchasing Cave Story.    … Collapse
