Before buying this game, you have to take one simple thing to consideration. What do you expect from it. If you looked through all the reviews, then you know what re you buying. Game tricks you fisrt 4 hours making you beleave that you are playing a great story and varried shooter. After first 4 hours you take a bitter pile, thats all of the story. Everything that was before is just a tutorial in game mechanics. Story ends just when things get very and very interesting and for the next 7-10 hours after doesnt develop at all. Game turns it self in total different play stile. In each real time 7 days the world resets making you leveling up from the start accelerating the difficulty and changing the levels around you. So your primary objective is the same over and over and over and over and over time. Circle after the circle. Though gameplay is just a blast, but if you came here for story, pass it by. You wont get anything here after 4 hours tutorial. It is basicaly a grind and leveling up your character type of gameplay and collecting the pieces of lore. For me it was a missed opportunity, but still, you cant deny an absolut blast in VR gameplay achivement Expand

Stormland features probably the best traversal system for VR to date (slipstreaming, flying/gliding, climbing). I have 25 hrs in the game and it will probably take me another 10 to finish the game with the 'secret ending' unlock.
Gunplay is adequate, enemies are repetitive, but gameplay combined with traversal system is addicting. Campaign takes about 5 hrs to complete, but Stormland

Campaign takes about 5 hrs to complete, but Stormland encourages the player to go through the cloud gameworld unlocking more difficulties and secret audiologs that supplement the backstory of the game.

Overall, while not as great as Asgard's Wrath, Stormland is still a worthy title based on the traversal mechanic alone.

Above all else, the gameplay is a blast. The running, jumping, grappling, gliding and slipstream-riding - in combination with the solid shooting and stealth mechanics - keep the action fluid and varied. There's always more than one way to come at a situation, in traversal as much as in tactics.

The game is visually striking and, as far as I could tell, free of any notable glitches or bugs. This is about as good as Oculus gets.

The story is an intriguing bit of science fiction, but the main campaign is quite short and does consist mainly of gathering resources to upgrade yourself and your gear, and hunting for McGuffins to move things along. There's just enough mystery lingering at the end to maybe entice the player back for the end-game "cycle".

I've just finished the main story and started the first post-game cycle - venturing through cloudscapes that transform every week, with rewards for persistence. While the delightful gameplay may keep me coming back for a while, or just checking in from time to time, I don't see my self getting too deeply invested too much into this game.

Another late Oculus exclusive - another unfinished scam project.
Fun well-thought travel and movement mechanics. And... nothing else. Everything else was just rushed and story abruptly ends, consistent quick weapon swapping is not possible, you never know if you disassemble a weapon or grab a weapon, or start climbing, if you do it too quickly. Absolutely no content. They didn't even

Great Coop and Singleplayer, Coop is where it really shines though. There's no going through a menu to resume game each time just straight into the world in seconds.

Stormland is probably the first true AAA game of Oculus Rift. If you are a owner of an Oculus VR system then this game is a must-have without any doubt.

By far one of thee most beautiful VR games next to Asgards Wrath. Beautifully crafted with amazing gun designs and one of the most lived in environment period that vr has to offer. Climb, shoot, fly, go guns blazing or be sneaky. Amazing title for the expanding library of VR.

I've played many hours in this game. The combat is great and always has you on your toes. Travel around the open world is quick with the flying mechanic and various speed boosts, making getting place to place fun and adventurous! Overall a great game that is easy to get immersed in!

TLDR: It's very very good, the controls are smooth, the gameplay is engaging and somewhat challenging and the story is passable for a new IP, one of the best VR games I've played to date very close to the quality I found in Alyx.

Honestly outstanding work from Insomniac as always, the world is very open and I was never forced into doing an activity which I didn't want to do. At first

Honestly outstanding work from Insomniac as always, the world is very open and I was never forced into doing an activity which I didn't want to do. At first dismantling and replacing weapons felt off but it kept the game exciting and kept me on my toes which I found very fun.

Many of the upgrades are function rather than stat boost which constantly kept me wanting to play more and more to develop my character further to become more adaptable increased my overall survivability in many different scenarios.

The design of the game really shows off Insomniac's DNA and makes the world feel believable while still being a fantasy world at the same time. For me at least this kept areas feeling fresh and constantly thinking back to how unique R&C's world and asset design was.

Subjectively the game's story works and that's all it has to do. There are a few cutscenes like instances where the player is forced to watch the world around them however these never felt as restricting as some games do. During most of the dialogue sequences, I felt like the characters were really talking to me which added a layer of immersion akin to my experience within Half-Life Alyx's own dialogue sequences.

As great as the game looks and plays the optimisation isn't amazing. However, there are many settings to tweak and change to help it run smoother on older hardware. I'm blown away by Stormland and how good a AAA VR Experience can be. I'm looking forward to a sequel to Stormland and other developers to also make the jump in investing in big-budget VR games.

Thanks to its amazingly crafted world, Stormland is one of the most interesting VR experiences. It may lack some variety (and the stealth mechanics are more than improvable), but it shows the path to follow for captivating VR games.

Stormland puts yourself in a fascinating sci-fi open-world, where you have to fight robots while collecting power-ups and upgrades literally ascending through the clouds, climbing and launching yourself in the air towards The Terminus. There is a huge sense of freedom and even if the story mode is a bit short, you can play each time a brand new adventure, eventually in co-op, thanks to cycling worlds.
